  1. That's just about a requirement. Do it.
  2. There's no reason they have to be paired off, or even come in matching sets. They could just be three unrelated Shards who found themselves in the same place. But, yeah, when I heard, "Unite them" three or four times, I started calling the Vision Giver (I hadn't finished the book yet, but assumed they must be from a shard) Unity.
  3. Gah, it's been too long! You'd think a dragon would stand out in my memory but apparently not!
  4. Wait, was that [REDACTED]? [REDACTED]... I didn't even think about [REDACTED]. Hmm...we should probably limit conversation about [REDACTED], since it has apparently been stolen and cannot be classified as publicly available. Unless Brandon is giving out copies, or this is a new book. When I read [REDACTED], I was [REDACTED] that one of the other characters was [REDACTED]. (He said after exhorting people not to talk about it.)
  5. You seem to have at least one spam bot creating new threads with bizarre names and no content. Nothing too problematic, but one of them mentioned Viagra, so it can only go downhill from there. The one I noticed is CemiCrits.
  6. Check the thread, "Theory on Elhokar *Spoileriffic*" *Edit* Oh, you already did.
  7. Ah, see, that's Liar of Partinel. It is in the same series as, but is not the same thing as, "Dragonsteel." The Dragonsteel I'm talking about (and presumably what everyone else is talking about when they say it) could only be found in the Harold B. Lee Library at BYU. At least until the only copy was apparently stolen. (As a side note, I'm sitting in that library right now!)
  8. A dragon? In Dragonsteel? .... Not that I remember.
  9. He could definitely play a very important role, and get viewpoints without being the "focus" of the book. Yeah, we could totally see stuff from him before then. I kinda went off on a tangent about getting his own book there.
  10. I'd like to cast a vote for #5.
  11. I was walking through the BYU bookstore, just a little while after TFE came out. It still being relatively recent, and written by a teacher at the University, Elantris was very prominently displayed. The cover caught my eye, and I walked over. On the front is the quote by OSC calling it "one of the finest novels of fantasy in many years." This intrigued me, so I picked it up and read the back. "Eternity ended ten years ago." Then I was really interested. It was on sale for $7. Hardback. I bought it. I read it. Then I went and found the newly released TFE. This was a little more expensive (Read: Full price), so every day between classes I sat in the bookstore and read. I missed WoA and HoA because I was in Japan at the time. I got back home, read both of them in a week each, and officially upgraded from Fan to Fanboy. Discovered TWG and Hoid, and the rest is history.
  12. I'm gonna say we definitely get a Szeth book before we get a Shen book. And Brandon also said in an interview that Jasanah would get her own book (or at least would become a major viewpoint character). So, if Shen does get his own book, it would be 5 or 6 earliest.
  13. Brandon just said in an interview (on Madhatter or something) that his original idea for book 2 was to focus on Dalinar. However, he is considering switching to Shallan. He hasn't made up his mind yet. But he said that if he does go with Dalinar, book 2 will be called, "Highprince of War."
  14. Well, hmm... the real Hoid... More like the first Hoid from whom OUR Hoid stole his name. So when we say Hoid, we are, unless otherwise stated, talking about the second Hoid, who seems to be the important one. As for being named after a rock, I can't think of a way to get a rock to fit into the Shard's naming conventions. Unless the Shards are all secretly ROCKS??? <- Unlikely.
  15. Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I think the most obvious anything from the other series would get is the Dula in I-1. And even then, it's cool that he is a Dula, but the important part is that he's looking for Hoid. Therefore, I concur, whatever the Element is, it is not Lerasium.
  16. Behold, The Coppermind Wiki! It's on here, you'll find it. Still in the very early stages though.
  17. Wow, I've thought for months that that was Sephiroth. Guess not.
  18. Or, ya know, since it's a wiki we could just change it.
  19. That's obviously the stormlight from their face gems.
  20. I gave you credit for that! Really, I did! My third post in this thread.
  21. Dalinar FTW! *ahem* I predict that book 2 will focus on Dalinar, then Shallan gets book 3, with book 4 focusing on Szeth Son Son Vallano, Truthless of Shinovar. By then we'll probably have more characters, and book 5 will move on to one of them. Or, that could happen sooner, bumping Szeth's book to later in the series. But, yeah, All Hail Dalinar, Highprince of War, for book 2.
  22. That was my original understanding. Somewhere on TWG, I'm sure of it.
  23. Silius, shame on you. A Crowning Moment of Awesome is not the same thing as an Awesome Moment of Crowning. Look it up. ;D Basically, the bit at the end where Dalinar has his "chat" with Elhokar made me stop reading so I could say aloud, "Dalinar is SO COOL." Heh. There's a reason for this. Might that reason be that it is, in fact, an extended epilogue? I can see it now... "Brandon, your epilogue is 40 pages long." "Yep." "Could you disguise some of it as a fifth section, and maybe make that last bit the epilogue?" "...Okay fine."
  24. Dude Chaos, Andrew and I just said that.
