  1. Don't undermine my poor jokes with your "characterisation"! Though, in fairness, your avatar is Repressed Elsa instead of awesome Ice Queen Elsa. Out of curiosity, have you ever read the story Frozen is based on?
  2. Elsa! Don't take responsibility for your mistakes, and don't regret them! Conceal, Don't Feel, remember? Anyway it happens; I up voted to balance it out, so if someone could add another vote there, it'll be fine.
  3. It's a rare item drop. Try saving the game before fighting Odium and just keep restarting until you get it.
  4. No-Prizes for getting the reference in the title. I was thinking it might be fun to have a place for comic book fans to chat about weekly releases, classic stories, pull lists etcetera. So here it is. Any fans in the audience?
  5. Where's the Shardbearing Rohirrim when you need them? You and Delightful are right, a Shardarmoured Elephant is a pretty horrifying (though insanely awesome) idea. So, welcome. If you haven't read the other books in the cosmere, I recommend starting with Warbreaker. Anyway, welcome, and. I hope you enjoy yourself.
  6. First of all, I like your username. For some reason, it reminds me of a curse word from a kids show, substituting the more adult language with 'Pancakes!' Anyway, welcome! I'm always pretty jealous to hear about people who get a chance to attended those conventions or speak with Brandon, and it's cool to hear that he liked your cosplay. From the sounds of how many times you've read the books, it's pretty safe to say you're a fan so I hope you enjoy your stay here.
  7. RAFO= Read And Find Out Brandons response to things which might be too spoilery. The implication is that, eventually, we'll get answers to them in the books; we just have to read on. WoB= Word of Brandon. Brandon's comments on aspects of the cosmere, characters, books, etcetera. Basically, any information he gives in interviews, questions, book signings etc which isn't RAFO.
  8. Don't worry about it, but... this seems like the sort of topic that really, really should be in the Words of Radiance forum instead of here. The Introductions is the palce most members would default to for their first post, and while it might be fair to assume that most people have read Brandon's books, it's by no means certain; I know at least a couple of people on this board who haven't read Way of Kings yet, let alone Words of Radiance. As for the letter, it's an insight into the politics of the Cosmere. That's always interesting; I'm just not sure if there's much 'new' information gained from it.
  9. Hey there! Short answer, sicne I had to get this posted real quick... longer, better reply? Hello! I've been talkign to and bothering you for a while now, say saying hi might be a bit redundant, but... it's there anyway, I guess?
  10. Edit the title; there are some people who haven't read Words of Radiance yet, and this? Is kind of a HUGE spoiler. More appropriately for the forum, welcome! And
  11. I sort-of prefer Korra in some ways; it does make a lot of missteps though, that stop it from being truly great. Any other Friendship is Magic fans here? Bronies, pegasisters?
  12. I'm familiar with snow. And rain. Both are pretty common here. Oh well. The cold never bothered me anyway.
  13. I think the suggestion that Blushweaver might be behind it was intentionally. A beautiful, voluptuous, seductive woman, taking control of the army of the nation for who-knows-what end? I feel like Warbreaker as a whole is meant to be a subversion of classic fantasy, so seeing the "evil" beauty turn out to be a hero is actually very satisfying to me.
  14. Honestly, I found this a little confusing. The main character, Joy, is being abducted by three guys, who might be telepathic (or really smart) who might not be human, and then they stop in a restaurant to eat, and a politician shows up and people start talking about aliens, and what? Contrary to how it sounds, that's actually a good thing. Since this is chapter 18, I'm guessing that all the legwork for this novel and this situation has already been established, and this sounds very much like a middle-chapter in an ongoing story rather than a generic chapter in a generic book about a generic world. Since there isn't. Uh plot wise to comment on (since I don't know the preceding or following events), I'll just say this; my grammar sucks. So I can't be certain, but I think the way you've formatted dialogue is...'wrong'. If I remember how to so it correctly, dialogue that starts in the middle of a sentence still needs to be capitalised, with a comma prior to the quotation marks.
  15. "I am a book".
  16. A type of magic from Brandon's Mistborn novels.
  17. I have the same problem with Fable that I do with Hellblazer; so many comics, so little money. It's not quite like Fables, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention Locke and Key. I think the last volume was released recently, and it might just be my favourite comic of all time. Seriously; I love that book, to the extent that I'm seriously considering picking up the oversized, overpriced 'Welcome to Lovecraft' edition. I'm mostly a DC fan these days, but I have been getting into certain books from other companies. I've started picking up the My little Pony ongoing and it's a hugely enjoyable book. If you want quirky, Manhattan Projects might fit the bill. It's certainly a bit of an off kilter book, albeit it more than a little dark.
  18. "Book down! Book down! Drop it on the ground! Book down! Book down! Rip the cover all around!" I am so sorry. Neither you, nor Les Mis deserved that. Seriously, sympathies. My omnibus Lord of the Rings got a few pages creased when I dropped it and it killed my reread. Major sympathy for what happened WoR.
  19. Snow White is a Radiant. I don't know her order, but the dwarves? Her squires. And what do they do? They work in a mine. Mining rocks. Thunderclasts are made of rock. The clues are all there!
  20. Now, did you see the omnibus edition of Way of Kings or the half copies? ; ) Welcome to the forum. Everyone's right; if you're interested in the consistent magic, Mistborn is probably the best start. I only read the Stormfront, but Mistborn is the closest in tone and genre to what I read, so...
  21. A rocket, from the dying planet Krypton. Welcome! Glad to see another DC fan!
  22. Not the best, but I love the ambiguity there is to the magic in A Song of Ice and Fire.
  23. I'm going to take a wild guess and say you're a fan of Frozen. Well, if you Want to Read A Novel after finishing the Mistborn trilogy, I'd suggest Warbreaker. I'll admit that it's a bit of a Fixer Upper and isn't Brandon's best work, but it's still my favourite of the cosmere books. There's also the fact that he decided to Let It Go by offering it for free download on his website, so if you want you can start reading it as soon as you've finished Mistborn. And Koloss are better than People.
  24. Kenny Kobold, it's not "pew pew", it's "bang bang bang". And yeah, halfway through this topic my thoughts turned to the Reshi isles. I will now be supremely disappointed if they don't go on a rampage. Sydney Scroungers crossover, anyone?
