  1. Odium paid little attention once he shattered the Amity. The fact that she was solely responsible for holding the chaos of her shard world at bay meant less than nothing to him- in fact, the feelings of distrust and hatred the shattering sowed amongst the worlds inhabitants were amusing. In his absence, the world fell to discord and ruin, until, by chance, the greater part of Amity's power was discovered and held by two, worthy bearers: sisters, who used the power they acquired to restore harmony to the world. Much of Amity was lost, but the Sisters gathered the fragments of the shard which remained and, with their great power, reshape them into something new: mystical artefacts that could amplify and unlock the power of Amity, sealed in her creations as her Intent, the spark which formed them. Amity may be gone, but her Shardworld thrives. And if Odium returns, he will have to learn a hard lesson: Amity is Magic.
  2. "We're canon?!"
  3. I just wanted to say that God of Color? Is an incredibly badchull name, even if my immediate reaction was to think of the Lightbringer books rather than Warbreaker. Also: wow. Kobold is... not just more than Brandon. He is a lot more than Brandon. That's awesome.
  4. According to his profile, Earthquake lives in the Purelake. I'm not sure where that is, but I will find it. Dragonsteel will be mine.
  5. If it helps with the decision, the movies are more or less ignored by the show. The only thing the show really took from the movies (as far as I'm aware) is a minor character, who... didn't really appear in the movie much either. Not seeing the film isn't exactly a great loss.
  6. Hallandren National Anthem.
  7. I tried this once before, and it was a dismal failure. Now, in fairness, I went into it with "Wouldn't it be a cool story if X", with no idea for characters, plot, or... anything really. That's still, sort of, the situation I'm in, but I suppose I could either use the time to re-try my last project (now that I am older and wiser), or finally try writing one of the fantasy novel ideas I've had and talked about here. (Okaym, so those ideas don't have characters, worlds or plots either, but still...)
  8. As I said, I didn't want to say too much, since I do hope to eventually get to that in my Rewatch/Analysis thread... but...
  9. They aired about a week or two after the US release date, which... actually was kind of weird. Usually, most UK channels will wait until the series is finished, then air them all at once, without the mid-season break most American shows get.
  10. I've been falling out of touch with fandom information, so... Was the God Beyond as a sperate entity confirmed by Brandon? Or is still just a fan-theory? (It's a theory I rather like, but I wanted to double-check how accurate God Beyond =/= Adonalsium theories are)
  11. Hoidies. I have nothing to say, just that if I didn't make that comment, it would have driven me insane. Also, I want a Pony Vin shirt. I admit, I'm terrible at coming up with merchandise. Only thing I can think of might be to have some comedy shirts, like one with a logo saying "I survived the Final Ascension and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" or something. Or a where's Waldo style poster, but looking for Hoid.
  12. I really should watch that documentary sometime; only problem is that the only place I've seen it is for sale. I generally prefer watching something on television, or at least renting, before purchasing. As for there being a movie... there is. Kind of. For a given value of "MLP" movie. Let me explain. Between Seasons three and four, Hasbro released a film, called My Little Pony: Equestria Girls. It re-imagine Equestria as a human high school setting when Twilight travels through a magic mirror to retrieve her stolen crown, and the most important words in that sentence are "human" and "high school". I don't want to talk too much about it, since I want to save my comments for whenever I get to that part of my analysis thread... and wow, I need to get back to that. But as a movie, it... is not very good. Aside from the main character being Twilight, and short scenes at the beginning and end set in Equestria, the movie doesn't have very much to do with the ethos of the show. The characters are named after the mane six and co, but removing the fantasy setting really does damage it a lot. The animation style is something I don't care for either. Humanised Mane Six fanart existed before Equestria Girls was announced, but... well, the movie doesn't have the same spark of creativity and enthusiasm for it's concept that the show does. Personally, it feels like what it is: a project that got made because Hasbro wanted it made, and not because there was any real love for it. To be fair, it does have some interesting ideas. The comics took the magic mirror, for instance, and created a really cool story-line involving a mirror universe Equestria. The villain of the movie has a potentially fascinating character and backstory. Anyway, there was a sequel released recently, called My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks. The new film is based around a music contest/battle of the bands style thing in Canterlot High. I haven't seen it, but to be fair, reviews I've read of it seem somewhat more positive. I've seen screen shots, teasing a lot more cameo's, fan references and such, but I'm waiting for a release date here or- more likely- picking it up on DVD.
  13. I fully admit it might just be because I didn't care about the show before, but I would swear that MLP merchandise only started appearing in local stores in the past week or so. I mean... I don't know if I'd actually buy any of it. The toys always strike me as looking really strange; probably the problem of going from animation to a three-dimensional piece. I wouldn't mind some of the rather neat t-shirts I've seen online, but I suspect those are only purchasable online, and it might be hard to explain to my family why I'm wearing a t-shirt with a grey Pegasus holding a muffin. Though, since this seems to be the unoffical pony thread, I suppose I have to ask... did anyone go to see the movie yet? Lol I have written a pony fiction with ponies! It's not posted here, and it's not finished, but it does contain ponies, meaning I have written more pony-fiction than you have panda-fiction. And that's why My Little Panda never got past the pilot. Though I am sort of curious as to which specific parodies you saw. There is a lot of pony-related material floating around after all, and I can certainly think of a few things which might make watching it... uncomfortable.
  14. I watched the show. Emphasis on "-ed". As far as I'm aware, the UK won't be airing season two the way they did season one, so I think I'm going to have to avoid comic book sites and such for the foreseeable future. I want to try and see season two as unspoiled as possible.
  15. Well, I decided to pick up a new picture, so I figured I'd take a new title as well. I was really tempted to ponify one of the Knight Radiant orders (Ponybringer?) but couldn't come up with one I liked enough for it so... Pony Radiant is my placeholder. Which is kind of funny since Shining Armor looks like he just got sworn into the Nights Watch.
  16. A party? Well, this calls for a completely spontaneous song and un-choreographed dance routine.
  17. Huh. I must admit to being curious. As a note, I'm not a huge Christie fan; I've only read a handful o her books, and those were all Poirot ones. But I have a vivid memory of watching a live-action version of Murder on the Orient Express when i was younger... though damnation if I can remember which one it was. Anyway, thanks for the news. This might be what I need to get back to trying to actually read the Poirot mysteries- though mystery isn't really a genre I usually try.
  18. Cybertron is Cosmere. Headcanon accepted. I need to start making some more substantial posts though. Like, fan fiction or theories or something. Or post more ponies. I haven't decided which yet. Or maybe I'll split the difference and write the epic tale of Hoid's arrival on Equestria and trying to work out how the magic system works. And going insane.
  19. At the Gala! (At the Gala!) At the Gala! In Newcago! It's where we want to be! All the factions, And the leaders, And the ponies! (And the Ponies!)
  20. A new faction? Begin Operation: Infiltration.
  21. Here's the first one! And... ...And huh. I've posted even less than I thought. The shame spirals deepens. I've talked about stuff I want to write on this forum; there are topics here and there in the creators forum talking about ideas I have, which I've never really developed. And -for my brony street cred- I did write two chapters of an MLP fiction, both of which are really rough and which I keep meaning to go back and edit. I find it hard to focus on stuff. Hence... life control has been lost.
  22. I just realized that, despite joining this forum nine months ago speciaifically to practice writing, I've only produced and posted two pieces of fiction in that time. (Or rather, I've lost motivation for my life. Same difference.)
  23. You know, when I was growing up, that confused me; I thought Thanos' design was more in-line with the DC more comic-booky universe, while Darkseid struck me as more like a Marvel villain. That being said, I don't have any opinions on them. The only Thanos story I've ever seen was the old Silver Surfer cartoon, where he was... eh. Okay, I guess? I haven't seen much of Darkseid either though, but he generally strikes me as being more... impressive. The only story of his I've read is Final Crisis which is a very strange book in it's own right- and years on, I still don't know if I like it or not- but it's presentation of Darkseid was amazing. Horrifying, overpowering, and full to the brim with great, memetic lines dedicated to how fantastic Darkseid is. Thanos wants to kill people? Darkseid took a good and noble man, broke his soul, and inhabited his body. He was dying, and his response was to drag the entire multiverse into hell with him. He turned Superman into the enemy of all creation, stared into his face with six billion eyes, created a fist with three billion hands. Thanos is a jerk with superpowers, but Darkseid? Darkseid IS.
