Of course, having it actually flowing in Lifeless's blood vessels is probably important to keeping them Lifeless.- 51 replies

A dishevelled man, Swimim tends to use haikus. He might be crazy. No cause for alarm, Simply measures words deftly. Psychotic? Oh, no. His hair is matted, Eyes with full bags of empty. Careful around him.

More grotesquely, what happens if a pregnant parshendi is exposed to the Everstorm and forced to change forms? What happens to the unborn child?- 51 replies

Steelheart - Calamity seems much like a 'shard' to me
Swimmingly replied to Mikanium's topic in The Reckoners
I think Brandon just thinks of magic in terms of shard relations at this point. Though it makes me wonder how they managed to reproduce the effects in weapons if there isn't a scientific effect going on. -
Makes you wonder how a Shardblade manifests in the cognitive, huh?

If she knew about the Blade, she wouldn't just get rid of him though.

Brandon's writing quirks
Swimmingly replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in General Brandon Discussion
No, that would be far, far too animé. -

Wax's reaction: "Oh, do you mind asking Ranette how that new gun she was making for me is coming along then, if you'll be seeing her now?" Wayne's reaction: "Can I watch?"

On a bleak and snowy afternoon in the Midwest USA. . .
Swimmingly replied to Aslansjoy's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Well, to start, you can begin swearing by various Cosmere entities. We've got a thread on the Rosharian ones. But yeah. We've got physics, mathematics, cryptography, graphic design, linguistics, literary analysis, fanart, fanfic, a couple writing groups, and even a few *shudders slightly* shippers (you know I'm kidding, Feather) among much else. So knock yourself out. And when your friends begin wondering at the fact that you're constantly carrying around copies of Brandon's book and obsessively checking this website, you can begin inducting them, too! -
The recently instituted swear filter should turn any awkward comments into hilariously awkward comments as long as your language is salacious enough.

Swimmingly replied to Aslansjoy's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Yup. Welcome, welcome! Make yourself at home, and don't be shy! Check out the Cosmere 101 thread for a quick intro to some of the less obvious aspects, and ask any questions you have. Hope you enjoy yourself! -
On "damnation", when Zahel uses it, he uses it weirdly, which makes sense given it's not his native tongue.

Is Shallan pre-disposed toward alcoholism?
Swimmingly replied to Seloun's topic in Stormlight Archive
Oh, Lopen is gonna have so much fun beating EVERYONE at drinking contests now. -
I suggest using shshshsh as a blanket filter for swear words.

Slowswift is actually a cameo of Tolkien, I think.

Divine Breath healing brings the healed one closer to Endowment's ideal by healing their wounds.Perhaps normal Awakening bring inanimate objects closer to Endowment's ideal. They anthromorphize (as in actually shape shift to become more human) when awakened.

Current theory is that he forced Stormlight through the barely functional Nahel bond, like trying to use a very frayed wire to power a washing machine. In essence, he short-circuted his bond with Syl, keeping just enough Stormlight to survive the fall.
-
Because Nahel discovered or created it? I think it's only called that, in-universe, in scholarly texts.
-
Call it the petty spitefulness of the Internet.

Is Shallan pre-disposed toward alcoholism?
Swimmingly replied to Seloun's topic in Stormlight Archive
Still, Shallan having drunk life chats with a confused and worried Pattern sounds hilarious. Of course, it's possible that Stormlight burns off alcohol.
