  1. When you run into a bank, wearing an antique suit of armor and a giant sword, then, instead of threatening the teller, try to slice the vault door open. While yelling "Journey before destination, bitches!" at the top of your lungs. Seriously, worst bank robbery EVER.
  2. Of course, it's also possible that Cultivation feels that way against her will and is slightly weirded out by her attraction to a piece of sentient magic left behind by her boyfriend. Of course, Brandon never said that the feeling was "love" or "attraction". She could just feel the same frustration at the pigheadedness of both of them.
  3. To be perfectly honest, I don't have much backstory worked out for the magical community, other than that the Community (capital C) is descended from witch covens -kinda. Most of their traditions are cobbled together and implied rather than stated. The oaths are really the only specific ritual shared by the entire Community, though individual Chapters have their tradition. Some Chapters are just branches of other Chapters that split off, some are gangs that negotiated their way into becoming an official Chapter, some are descended directly from covens, some from Arab, Inuit, Native American. There are some rules governing their interactions and politics, but the majority is unwritten.
  4. I just remembered mistakenly thinking Feather got that once before. Someday, I'll hammer it into my brain.
  5. Oh! I assumed you tried to say SA and were auto corrected. Sorry about that
  6. Astronomical Unit fics?
  7. When you start feeling suspicious as to the REAL purpose of blood drives.
  8. There are definite flaws with Tumblr. At the end of the day, though, it produces GREAT SA fanart, so I don't have a problem with it.
  9. And, to those who just want to do a little good thing and don't care much for the eBook, you can donate less through the IndieGoGo. Every dollar helps.
  10. A few, and possibly all, of the magic on Sel seems to geographically bound. Soulstamps, for example, reportedly don't work in Elantris.
  11. I think it's going to make her treat him more impersonally, like a tool rather than a companion, and he may confront her on that eventually.
  12. Well, it could mean that you could adapt any magic system to any area, for one thing.
  13. We all know someone, though we don't like to discuss it. Rob Wells is one of these people. He's been diagnosed with a bestiary of mental illnesses, and it's affected every aspect of his life. We can help. In the coming months, the Altered Perceptions anthology will be coming out with a variety of different works, including a snapshot of the original tale of our favorite bridgeman had he taken the Shards. This initiative, headed by Brandon Sanderson and Rob and Dan Wells, aims to pull Rob out of his crippling medical debt and set him on his feet going forward, as well as set up an organization to help mentally ill writers. For just a few dollars, you can help a man in need. I challenge you, 17th Shard, to alter your perception of altered perceptions and mental illness. I challenge you to help a writer in need. A little money goes a long way. 30 days left as of writing this post, and still nearly $80 000. Let's make our community more than just a fandom. Let's do something good. As Kaladin says: "I will protect those who cannot protect themselves." Maybe we can't be Radiants... But we can be heroes.

    Bloody Tan

What if Tan has some kind of metal that let's him read minds the same way zinc and brass affect them? We know that we don't know even a half of the existing metals, and perhaps some atium alloys still exist
  15. Well, that would make sense if they were French. But they aren't and I want it to sound normal - not even a title, just like an I have this, you don't sort of thing. Privileged is the only word I could think of that wasn't clichéd and met all those standards. I kind of wanted it to sound like saying "oh, he's white" would have sounded in 1940. There's just assumptions built into the word that people don't think about. Kind of like the word "super" or "cape" is used in superhero fiction, which would make sense if they thought of themselves as superheros. But they don't.
  16. I'm sure every other character will be fighting in a climatic final battle to protect him so can reach the state.
  17. Any suggestions?
  18. Well, it all started when Kurk asked Brandon if you could, in fact, create an Inquisitor cat, and was answered in the affirmative.
  19. You have some catching up to do... Long story short, all his fantasy works that don't take place on Earth take place in a verse called the Cosmere. There are minor characters that move between the worlds and there is a whole back story to the pantheon and magic of the worlds.
  20. Or Rayse did something very, very wrong that forced Hoid to reconsider the meaning of everything he'd ever done...
  21. I personally don't think this series is going to end with another Shard "balanced". I'm sure Mr. T, even if frozen in the compassionate state holding Odium, will succumb.
  22. So maybe Taravangian will pick up Odium when monumentaly stupid and compassionate, and Odium's power will bring him to godlike intelligence and the Intent will balance out his compassion?
  23. That would only make it more heroic, though.
  24. Except that we have WoB that Hoid and Rayse were once friends. Feather(?) got it written in her book.
  25. A spren to prompt him to take action?
