  1. Brandon reading this: Oh god, I wish it was that easy...
  2. I would also assume that such metals would require actual Investiture from their own Shard to work. So, if you could jury-rig Soulcasting to work with Allomantic energy, it might happen.
  3. No, but I will send spren to heckle you all! They will be shaped like schools of small green fish!
  4. How about feruchemical gold, for health in general?
  5. I just sort of ducked and started working, mostly because getting an exemption like that from the teacher would make me feel like a dick. Of course, then the teacher started geeking out at me about the books, and while I'm fine with a bit of geeking out, during class with everyone else watching is a bit much. And he knew I'm an avid fantasy reader, if not a Sanderfan in particular. There's even an off-chance he'll visit the forums, in which case, hi Mr. B.
  6. I've never written any fan fiction myself, partially because of the stigma attached to it. However, seeing the points on the thread here, I think it might be something to consider; my characters, to put it plainly, suck. I don't know their personalities well, and I'm afraid of making them Mary Sues. I don't know how to express a character's flaws properly either, which is unfortunate - and I'm afraid of making the flaws they do have too mundane.
  7. If there was, it would be an important clue the Plate wasn't just the product of the Oaths like the Blade.
  8. "How far are you in?" "...750 pages..." "You've been reading since midnight, haven't you?" "...maybe"
  9. WoB. Can't remember where from, unfortunately. But it's there. Take my word on it.
  10. I think the place where you are born has an impact on the kinds of magic you can do, no matter what kind of inhuman monster your parents became
  11. Well, he might decide that humanity deserves it, or needs it, or it might play into the long-term plan that has humanity reaching the stars. I find it amusing that the answer to "is there anybody out there" is "yes, and they're magical." in the cosmere
  12. That or someone finds Lerasium.
  13. Maybe she's just talented, then.
  14. Tie individual metal ties around each of your hairs. Steelpush them all at once in front of a mirror. Store tin to ignore an alarm clock Awaken a piece of firewood. A burning piece of firewood. Lightweave an illusion that looks exactly like you.
  15. Oh, OK. I thought that was from Vasher's exposition things. Sorry.
  16. Jedi might win, because they can immobilize the Windrunner from a distance with the Force. Shardblades have greater reach, but are larger and slower; on the other hand, a liveblade can turn into a more convenient sabre or rapier as well. Personally, I think the Jedi would win by merit of slightly more versatile abilities and being more used to the ideal weapon for that kind of dueling. However, if the Windrunner can change weapons, they could aggressively keep the Jedi reacting to entirely different modes of attack, and they're more powerful in their domain despite having less versatility. So yeah, it would be a good duel. Brandon's suggested that a Jedi would win a regular Shardbearer duel, though.
  17. Of course, we don't actually know whether that's true, because in-universe narrators are unreliable, and it's spoken of as if it's the Breath doing the devouring sometimes as well.
  18. To some people, anyway. I know that anyone who doesn't like her tends to really dislikes her. Me? I think she's AWESOME!
  19. We..don't really know yet. We guess that they have at least some degree of intelligence, and form a bond with their owner. I assume they can get stormlight from other sources, but who knows? They are important to Surgebinders; the KR chart has a pair of them in the background.
  20. *facepalm* Ruins the plot. Now I get it... Probably when I was in class, the day after WoR was released, reading it on my phone surreptitiously, when the teacher calls me out on it. He says, "Unless you're reading Words of Radiance on that thing, pay attention." Sanderfans are always in unexpected places.
  21. Could you clarify? I'm not quite understanding...
  22. What I'm wondering is if a Divine Breath 'keeps' without breaths to sustain it while spiked. You know, because the host it had needed to keep alive is dead and all.
  23. I think everyone in Aimia is dead... You don't call something the Scourge, imply that even the animals suffered, and that a curse follows all survivors then have a happy community still living there. Possibly, a few hermits might have survived, as the Curse of Kind seems to do with interactions with others.
