Not overpowered, just a very different scale of magic. The Mistborn series focuses around assassins and intrigue; the SA magic is much more flashy stuff. Sure, Kaladin could probably whomp Kelsier, but Kaladin isn't fighting Kelsier. Kaladin is fighting skeletal elemental stone monsters. Basically, he's not overpowered in his own environment, or he won't be once the monsters start coming.

the most useless uses for useful powers
Swimmingly replied to king of nowhere's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Considering that magic things such as Worldhoppers already have something that is technically FTL, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that FTL transfer of information is only a problem when the information only passes through the Physical. -
Plot twist - Chaos is Hoid. Hoid is Brandon. Chaos is Brandon. Hoid is everyone. He's pregnant. With himself.

This is good. I recommend you learn how to use commas, unless you're aiming for the stream-of-conciousness / young child's viewpoint feel.

Being discriminatory or rude, basically. It's more or less at the discretion of the moderators. If you want to know more details, shoot Chaos, Weiry, or one of the other mods and admins a pm.

I think that you'd need to closely monitor his emotional state and the fluctuating level of joy a bit of trolliness would give him to determine any real pattern. So, if he could be so kind as to do his signings in an fMRI from the future...

Which Shardworld would you most like to live on?
Swimmingly replied to TheShogun's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I see you're joking, but there's a pretty big difference: In Alcatraz, the powers ARE the disabilities. On Silence, they're just a gate to them. -
Honestly, I didn't see the effects as incredibly horrifying. Kind of cool, honestly.

Well, wiretapping, hacking, home invasion, and stalking are also methods to get good answers, but they're generally not encouraged. Unless an Admin gives you a licence, of course. Then you should be fine.

To Quiver: The first few Dresden books are "meh". They climb in quality, with the quality being about " Awesome" by Changes. Changes is Awesome^2, and it only gets better from there. To JDG: Mistborn is a good place to start, but if you want a free (!) novel, read Warbreaker - it's excellent, and available of Brandon's website. Elantris is considered his worst published work, with much more generic magic and simpler, more stereotypical characters, but is still excellent. The Emperor's Soul is a novella, short and very well written, with a magic system with layers and layers of depth and incredible originality. Save the Stormlight Archive for last. It's worth it. If you email him through his site, he can send you some unpublished works, too. Ask for Aether of Night and White Sand.

The thing is, there dosen't seem to be a lot of scholarly work centred around shardblades outside the artifabrian community. Shards are regarded as holy, indestructible relics by many, so nobody bothers to test and see if anything can't be cut my them - they assume it's pointless
