  1. So I was looking back on the Day 1 lynch, specifically around when BB was getting voted for. I have already explained what I thought of the Shallan incident, and I think that the bandwagon on BB is of more interest. Now, I had a reason for voting for BB, but it was really more of a search for an explanation (which I don't think we have gotten yet). So I am a bit confused as to why so many people followed my example. Adavantos makes sense, since he was up for the lynch at that point and generally people don't want themselves killed except very rarely to prevent a tie vote. Two people (Mailliw and STINK) voted because of feruchemists. That is a really poor disguise for bandwagoning. Many people brought up that we get the same or similar amounts of info from the eliminators using a feruchemist to decide the lynch as we do from deciding ourselves. And now that I voted for STINK, I would like to point out to Creccio that STINK generally plays that way. Now, I personally think that being hard to read is unhelpful for the village. If STINK was a player that is known to come out with a large analysis later in the game then his being confusing now would make a little more sense. But basically what I'm trying to say is that STINK is just being STINK, and (unfortunately, in my opinion) that isn't enough reason to vote for him I think. Edit: Woah! What just happened? Ok, let it be known that I am going to not vote right now, because I don't want people to get in the mindset that the lynch is decided and we need to stop feruchemists again. But If the cycle ended right now then my vote would be on STINK 100%
  2. Here is some RP: and my actions: Edit: House Penrod is not going to be participating in the War Games, but An Penrod will attend as the official recorder of the events.
  3. Clanky, I think it was because people were hedging. I am guilty of this as well, so I'm not pointing fingers here. But there are two things people are afraid of in day 1 lynches. The first is killing someone that has an important role or the ability to contribute a lot of discussion or something along those lines. The second is killing a player that has simply forgotten to check the thread. In these term, the lynch on Shalllan makes sense. She checked the thread, so she wouldn't be lynched for accidental inactivity. And what she posted was judged as unhelpful, so people didn't consider her too much of a loss (apologies if I am misreading anybody's motives. This is how I see things playing out). So mostly I see people as just trying to play safe, and the eliminators might have hopped on that as a result.
  4. Ok, I'm going to place my vote now. I'm not too sure what is up with Adavantos, but I would like to hear more from Bridge Boy about that vote. Yeah, it is definitely counting toward something, and I am all for a day one lynch, but we still have some time to discuss at this point. In response to Adavantos, this is both SE and a LG. So, there is a bit of an expectation to be cutthroat, and people have 48 hours to get on to see the thread. Now, if we lynch an inactive that honestly forgot or had an emergency that prevented them from posting, I might be less likely to endorse lynching one of them one cycle one at a future date. I almost did that in MR whatever that is running right now. But in this day and age, 48 hours is an awful lot of time to hop on a phone or use a computer to post something like: I'm super busy and will contribute more later. People on here respect that sort of thing, it happens to all of us. And if we lynch someone who just forgot, well, next game they will be less likely to forget. It doesn't pay to encourage inactivity by protecting those people from the lynch. I said all this, but my vote isn't on an inactive player because I felt like I had a better option, at least for drawing out info. I'll hopefully be back one in around 3 hours to reconsider where to put my vote.
  5. Well, bother. There have been a load of posts and all I have done so far is to skim them. I haven't picked out anyone too suspicious, but I do think we should definitely aim for a day one lynch, perhaps on an inactive. More on that later tonight because I only have a few minutes to post this now. But the main thing is that there is no reason for the HI to truthfully reveal the number of Hemalurgists. The only use in that would be to let the village know when he has turned, after his win condition has already changed. The HI doesn't want people to know what his alignment is at any point in time, or rather he wants everyone to believe him as part of the village. So if he says 3 hemalurgists and three die, then everyone knows he has swapped teams and can just ignore him. Disclaimer: These were my thoughts last game as the HI Also, I don't think that the HI changing sides is too big of a deal for us (except for the info thing Kas brought up) because every time a hemalurgist dies we can forge a new one to check if his alignment has changed (correct?)
  6. Hello everyone, I am here, and reading the thread. Anyways, I don't get too much from the Alvron thingy; as Wilson pointed out it was completely pointless. Likewise, I think that people that voted for Alvron were just joking along or didn't realize the rule change from last game. I'll be back later in the cycle and try to say some more.
  7. Ok, so there has been a lot of discussion about me here. One thing that I would like to point out is that I am going to be loyal to my current win condition. Doing anything else would be against the spirit of the game and might upset how everything is balanced, although that second bit isn't really the point. So that means that 1) Right now I'm not going to look for eliminators to team up with and 2) I'm also not going to make any plans to sabotage myself if I do end up switching sides. Also, the only times that I have really tried to be manipulative were in the Unbalanced Shard Game (In which I tried to get Pifferdoo lynched) and in the Really Long Game, in which I was a Kandra and one of my "teammates" was being really frustrating. So while I do play to win, unless there are special circumstances I tend to be a pretty honest player. And nobody has contacted me yet, which is perfectly fine with me. I think it would be rather interested to all of a sudden switch teams rather than be able to anticipate it and have to strategize something.
  8. How exactly does the HI communicate with the crew? Is there a computer screen? In any case, my suspicions aren't going to be able to tell the village anything right now, so I'll wait a bit and maybe vote tomorrow if I'm not too busy with homework. Edit: Just saw your post Alvron, and that would be nice, if people could contact me.
  9. I have a couple actions here: Action 1: Who: An Penrod What: Building the University of Fellise Why: To attract scholars to the city and to increase the overall level of education among the noble families Where: Right outside the central city square When: Action 2 Action 2: Who: An Penrod What: Publicly announcing that any skaa that leave their own house to come to work in Fellise for House Penrod will be accepted and offered protection from their former house. Skaa attempting to leave a city can receive an official work notice from the local Penrod scribe in that city Where: Across the Final Empire Why: To punish Houses that mistreat their skaa and to boost the overall productivity within Fellise When: Action 3
  10. Woah there everyone. Didn't I say that I would come back with a vote later? (or analysis, basically the same thing) I don't quite understand what I have done that is worthy of 3 votes. I responded to Clanky and gave all of my thoughts that I had at the moment of that post. My vote in cycle 1 had the potential to accomplish something and was an attempt to force a post. I even came back online to check for a post before the cycle ended. But that is all in the past. The reason Clanky gave to Kas for voting on me makes sense to me, and is what I was aiming for in cycle 1 with my vote on Meandbooks (so Kas putting his vote on Clank is also consistent with his previous behavior). In light of that Sart's vote also makes some amount of sense, being the second vote on me and therefore threatening a lynch (although basically my vote gave his some weight that it didn't really have). And I'm a bit uncomfortable judging Venture too harshly for a vote like that because it seems like a bit of a recurring pattern over a few games. So I don't really have anything to say in my defense or to attack people. While I'm writing this, I'm not really sure who to vote for, though. Joe seems like a safe choice, because I already decided that his plan, in light of what we know now, seems to be more skaa aligned than inquisitor aligned. Kasimir, at least this cycle, has been opposed to second votes on people, as I see it. That is something I'm just going to note, I don't know how it relates to alignment. Polking is coming to my defense(ish), which actually makes me a bit suspicious. Nobody knows what team I am on, and admittedly my actions in cycle 1 weren't as helpful to the inquisitors as those of other players (although I hold that they weren't harmful either). So his (and actually Meandbooks's) defenses of me stand out a bit. So I guess my vote will go on Polking.
  11. Well, thank you Meandbooks, for your valiant defense of my actions. I was assuming that nobody would make a mistake like the one you made, and was wrong. This is SE though, and we are supposed to be a bit bloodthirsty. I'm glad that you are still alive in your first game, considering that you weren't intentionally inactive But I don't think Kasimir was really trying to address whether or not we should lynch you. He was getting on me for sliding by without contributing much to the conversation, which I admit I am guilty of. So the one person that seems like a hot topic to me is Joe. He had a plan that never was intended to work (as I understand it now), but it was presented like it should have worked. Then it turns out Joe misinterpreted the rules and it wouldn't have worked anyway. I was ok with his plan because it seemed like something that would both generate discussion and have the possibility of accomplishing something, although looking back it is hard to see exactly what. I would say that it is partly thanks to Joe that we had 8 or so pages of discussion last cycle. The end result of his plan is a bit suspicious, since lurchers would presumably be wasting charges that could be spent elsewhere better. This does seem a bit in line with what he tried last game though. I guess the line for me is that the plan was never intended to work, so the potential to waste protection roles leads me to suspect Joe more than I did before. But I'll leave him to respond to the vote that has already been placed, and try and add a bit more analysis tomorrow.
  12. Well, Creccio, the thing is in several recent games there have been inactive eliminators and they have really hurt their team. Silence from some people might mean that they are just waiting for the right time to post, but then at least they might come online to mention that. I just saw Joe's post. I guess it is in line with what he did in the MR; trying to gather information. But I'm not sure how much we can tell from role distribution in this game. It is possible that the eliminators have a lurcher, I think is what I am trying to say. But no harm in trying I suppose. My vote for now will go on Lopen since we haven't heard from him and I have plenty of time tomorrow to retract this vote if he responds. Edit: Green Vote
  13. "... glad I was so proactive in determining the next steps to take with Fellise." An turned as a messenger entered the room, bearing a letter with the seal of the Steel Ministry. "Missive for the Lady Penrod." The man deposited the letter on her desk and exited promptly. An opened the message and began to scan its contents. "Those Ministry skaa are so boring. I suppose one advantage to providing education to our workers is that they know how to have a proper conversation whenever they pass you buy." Wol stared at the floor with a somber expression on his face as he replied, "Whatever you say, Mi'lady." Then he gave a chuckle. "It does help to actually have a life to talk about. Not like House Wair's workers. Their Lord can't seem to grasp that he can't push anyone, even skaa, forever, and the reports of sickness and death in Wair's skaa are proof..." He trailed off as he saw the annoyed look in An's eyes. "Did I say something...?" An sighed and crumpled the Ministry note before tossing it into the fireplace. "It's nothing you said, it's the mist-cursed Ministry. It appears some skaa decided that their brethren would be better off if the Ministry lost track of its records on the skaa population of Luthadel. But they clearly weren't from House Penrod, because they torched the rusting Canton of Finance! The Ministry has shut down operations for a month while attempting to compile copies from various archives across the Empire. No contracts can be created or modified during that time in order to preserve the integrity of Ministry records. I suppose we should collect some of our files from the Imperial Archive and send them over to the Canton building. The sooner this mess is over the faster we can fix up Fellise." Wol nodded. "I'll travel to Luthadel myself. I suppose that I won't have too much work to do until this blows over." - Wol marveled at the extent of damage to the Canton building. Despite largely being constructed of stone, it appeared that much of the supporting structure had collapsed in the blaze, resulting in a total collapse of the building. A nearby skaa tenement had been commandeered until the Canton was reconstructed, and many of its residents wandered the streets aimlessly, apparently not responsible for any tasks. Wol recognized one of them and, after delivering House Penrod's files the to re-purposed skaa housing, wandered over to ask about the fire. Gazing at the crumbled, flame gutted Canton building, Wol asked, "Pooh? Did you do that?" Best of luck with your computer Wyrm! Those pesky uneducated skaa are always throwing wrenches into things haha.
  14. Action 2: Who: An Penrod and her unnamed husband What: Trying for an heir (names: female=Arelle, male=Hadrian the 2nd) Why: Because Kids Where: Fellise When: Second Action Action 3: Who: An Penrod What: Building and upgrading a lumber mill Why: Because Wyrm had to go and change the rusting mechanics of my paper mill Where: On the outskirts of Fellise When: Action 3
  15. So apparently you can't just splurge on actions to make them more effective... My house is incapable of spending all of its income with the 4 wealth standard action cost... Action 1: Who: An Penrod What: Promoting the development of culture by offering to pay a potion of new building costs in Fellise for the rest of the generation (1 wealth for regular buildings, 3 for buildings related to history, philosophy or scholarship in any way, if I can specify this) Why: Fellise has very little production currently and needs to get started, and House Penrod has too much wealth Where: Fellise When: First Action
  16. Action 3: Who: Lady An Penrod What: Building a center of operations for the Steel Ministry within Fellise Why: To increase the relationship House Penrod has with the Steel Ministry and to increase the level of Order within Fellise. Also to connect Fellise a bit more with Luthadel Where: Fellise When: Action 3
  17. Fellise wasn't that impressive. But that was the case with many of the greatest establishments when they first began. According to the history of the Final Empire, written by An's ancestor Hadrian Penrod, many of the heads that began their houses were average people with no Allomancy. Well, Hadrian had also been one of those with little to his name save for an exceptional talent at writing books, and now House Penrod controlled a whole city. The first step to a strong city was strong workers, and An could clearly see that the soup kitchens were insufficient for supporting a healthy work force. "Wol! I want us to dedicate a significant portion of our dairy production towards the skaa soup kitchens. Notify taskmasters around the city that any skaa that is seen working with extra diligence is to be given an extra meal token for their services. House Penrod can supplement any extra costs that the kitchens incur with its own funds. Additionally, I would like to impose a regulation that every noble house must eat a single meal each day from one of the kitchens it funds, with food of the same quality that the skaa are given. Any caught breaking this regulation will be forced to provide funding for all of the soup kitchens for the next month." The owlish faced scribe finished scribbling the last of the orders down and then presented them to An for her seal. Wol was a skaa, in the tradition of House Penrod. His mother had been educated in her letters through the mandatory schooling all Penrod skaa went through, but she hadn't quite gotten her spelling down. Wol, determined not to have his own children share a similar fate, had pursued his education to its limits, and as a result had been the obvious choice for An to pick as her scribe. "Anything else, mi'lady?" Wol placed the sealed orders within his pocket and prepared to leave the room. "Not yet. Let us give these changes a while, and see how the skaa react." After Wol left, An wandered to her chambers at the top of House Penrod's residence in Fellise. This building shared very little resemblance with Keep Penrod, instead reflecting the Ministry buildings of Luthadel in its austerity and practicality. Running a city was taxing work, and after all the day to day paperwork, figuring out the next steps to take in the city's improvement had used up most of the remaining daylight. Through the open window in her bedchambers, mist began to curl and gather on the floor. Time to unwind. Hopefully I have some time for a bit more RP later this turn.
  18. Do you mean Alvom? (m as opposed to r-n) Also, nobody has voted for you yet. So I don't quite get why the language in your post is so strongly defensive, and it makes me more suspicious of you than I was before. That doesn't take away from the validity of your arguments against Alvom, however. Also, a bit of Adamir's 2nd to last post seemed like something I have tried to do when I am falsely accused. So I am going to withdraw my vote from him temporarily and focus on Alvom this cycle. In addition to what PK brought up he was one of the people that voted from me a few times in a row with basically no justification in their posts.
  19. Well, I'll start out with a vote on Adamir. I am somewhat responsible for his first lynch, and I agree with what Gamma said about stripping protection away from people. It does make sense for us to follow through with that. However, I am also suspicious of Paranoid King. His "late" vote of Hero could very easily have been a ploy to gain our trust. (I am not trying to draw votes here or anything, just to remind them of an opinion I already expressed) On the same note, I am not comfortable with soft confirming people based of of their role reveals (Lopen). I mean, if we trusted people about their roles and used that as a reason to not lynch then Adamir probably would still have his Plate.
