  1. Nyali, I am saying that I suspect you. A decent amount, actually. A 1/7 chance to find Hoid is kinda lame, since eliminator ratios are usually 1/4 or 1/5. We will want to keep a close eye on those folks, but it would be really counterproductive to only focus our attention on them, unless for some reason lots of eliminators are on that list. So basically, I'm saying that "going after Hoid" is a somewhat meaningless statement at this point in the game, and that "killing the revealed eliminator" is a good idea. Aman already had a lot of fun being an outed eliminator in a previous game, and while he doesn't have a kill role this time around, I want him to be gone as soon as is possible, which means a lynch this cycle.
  2. Okay, we should definitely lynch Aman today. The more time we leave him alive, the better chance that he will be able to find a more important role to poison. Besides, it's going to be extra annoying if we have to worry about last minute lynch changes the rest of the game. Nyali, I find it rather suspicious that you advocated not lynching Aman, and instead going after Hoid. The thing is, this is SE. We don't know roles and such, we have to work out who the 17th shard is by discussion and lynching. And we won't be able to find Hoid any better than the other members of the Shard, since his slips and so forth with be indistinguishable from theirs. If we don't lynch Aman today, I am very certain that it will come back to bite us in an unpleasant way.
  3. Ok, this is going to be a bit of a short post, but I'll try and put some meat into it. I find it a bit odd that Lopen has a village read on me. I haven't really done anything to iterate a couple of opinions that I always have; role is not basis for lynch/not lynch, and that information should be given away only under extreme duress. Mark and Aman are two people that had posts that didn't agree with these views, so I indicated suspicion of them. Anyway, don't see myself as having done anything worthy of a village read, and I find it suspicious then that Lopen produced one. I also am somewhat suspicious of Conquestor. I have been willing to ignore some of it since he is a new player, but I would be willing to lynch him at this point. Mark, you never responded to my post last cycle, so far as I could see. Can you please explain, with whatever level of detail you prefer, what you meant about your role making you a bad lynch for us to make?
  4. Okay, so having read through the thread, this is what I picked up on : 1) The debate/discussion between Mailliw and Amanuensis. I am uncomfortable with mass information reveals, or even minor ones outside of 100% confirmations, so I would tend to side with Mailliw on this one (although, the info is probably pretty well distributed already, as Amanuensis pointed out). I mostly found it interesting that Amanuensis was going to try and use the initial planet distributions as a means to find eliminators, which strikes me as a little suspicious, and not very fun, either. 2) Amanuensis's vote for Mark. This is a bad way to go about finding eliminators, in my opinion. If you have some sort of out of game context that might hint another player is an eliminator, that would be something to hang on to for a bit, especially if you can't or are unable to give the context. Let that player hang themselves (or not) before you act on something like that. 3) That being said, I find something Mark posted fairly suspicious: That the number and types of roles in this game are a reason not to lynch him. I might be missing context here, but being afraid of a player's role is basically never a reason to not lynch them. We can't forestall lynches for fear of killing seekers or whatever. Some players are just going to have to die, and it is better to kill them now rather than worry that they might have a useful or a retaliatory (I'm not sure if we have one of these this game) role.
  5. Ok guys, I'm here, and have sorta skimmed the thread, but I'm tired right now. So know that I recognize that I have been voted for, and feel no pressure to move that vote, since I committed to posting at least twice each cycle. I'm just not going to add to the conversation for probably another 18 hours or so.
  6. Bother, I had some RP I wanted to write for my actions this turn, but finals are coming up, so it didn't happen. Actions:
  7. Alelin sat in Keep Penrod's study and pored over the maps his Tineyes had gathered over the last several months. The Central Dominance, despite being "central" to the Final Empire, really was sparsely populated. The occasional minor House had a plantation here, or a mine, but a little way from Luthadel, the countryside was ashen and empty. Perfect for House Penrod to begin to reestablish its influence. Out of the corner of his eye, Alelin noticed Luke, his steward, waiting in the doorway. "Come in, Luke! Do you have news from the Minitsry? What did they say to my proposal?" Luke shuffled a bit uncomfortably before speaking. "Nothing good, Mi' lord." "Even with the... encouragement that I provided?" "When I showed the obligator your bribe, he mentioned that he might consider meeting with House Penrod in the time of your children now, instead of your grandchildren, Mi' lord." Alelin sighed. "Very well. Why don't you just go ask the Ministry what they want done. Maybe that will make them a little happier." Luke nodded. "Any particular Canton I should approach?" "Probably not the Inquisition, or Orthodoxy. I don't want to end up having to wrestle with the ideals of the Ministry directly right now. Not when we are nearing our goals. Ask the Canton of Finance, and perhaps ask them if any other parts of the Ministry need assistance in the business world." "Canton of Finance, ask about helping other Cantons. Got it." With that, Luke departed the room. Alelin put his maps away, and covered his graying head with his hands. By the rusting Lord Ruler, Hadrian died over 200 years ago. And House Penrod is still stuck in its Keep, selling paper and milk and dueling canes. Fellise is under the rule of House Zerrung, our haven for the skaa turned into another noble dominated city. And if we tried to kick them out, the Ministry wouldn't let us back in before the ash stops falling. Alelin fell asleep there, contemplating how to make his House relevant again. Actions:
  8. Public Actions: 1: Who: Alelin Penrod What: Getting an NPC husband for Arista Why: It must be done When: First Action Where: Luthadel 2: Who: Alelin What: Collecting maps and sending scouts through the Central Dominance Why: To find a location to potentially found a new city When: Second Action Where: Across the Central Dominance
  9. So what exactly happened? I love the writeup, but did I actually manage to win? Since shards are supposed to survive? Edit: I read the spoiler notes, which imply that I converted and that is why the spiked won. But then SD should have converted to villager. Anyways, thanks a lot for running the game Elbereth and Phatt. I had a whole lot of fun, and the writueps were beautiful after each cycle. Apologies to the village team, but I felt like I was too powerful to just end the game as is with double lerasium, so I decided to see if I could win as spiked.
  10. Sorry, I thought the delay was not actually a turn that was happening. I guess I should have asked to clarify that.
  11. I didn't have enough actions, since moving cancels my bendalloy, and I hadn't used my second bead of lerasium at that point. But I stored a bunch of iron, so now I can get over there pronto. Also, during the next night, your room has an atium spike so you could look for an item to try and convert extra people!
  12. Well, haha. I found more lerasium. If I duralumin soothe everyone, I will for sure know who the last spiked player is, and then I can ascend! Also, seeing as there aren't too many players left, is it possible that the day cycles could be reduced to 24 hours? I'm fine with whatever, but I don't want to force the game to drag on for other players too much.
  13. Well, fortunately for those of us who like Day 1 lynches, s long as there are at least 2 of us there isn't much anybody can do to stop the lynch from happening, haha. I am gonna vote for LUNA, and would like to hear a bit more from Kynedath, although I understand you might be unavailable to respond. Anyway, regardless of whether you like a cycle 1 lynch, the general consensus has been that the lynch discussion is valuable even without a death. And in this format, the lynch has that much more weight because when somebody places that one extra vote, it can't just be tied up to stop a death. I haven't looked into the items/roles very much so far, so I don't have any strategy revolving around those, but maybe I'll get around to that later today.
  14. Quick Question: April 30th is in 9 days, so does the contest end then, or in 3 weeks? Bad Simile: Playing Sanderson Elimination is like being food on a young kid's plate when his parents are making him eat everything. No, see, it totally makes sense! The tasty foods are the players like Meta, who everyone likes, and they always get eaten, or killed, first. Some of the less tasty items survive by sneaking away into a pocket, or on the floor, and manage to survive through inactivity. And in the end, anything left over gets thrown away, just like the spiked in the Anniversary Games.
