  1. Well, Hadrian was very willing to find errors in your plan because he is definitely part of House Penrod.
  2. Well Mailliw, that still has the same problem as what I pointed out. If all the Houses agree to attack one single House that is incapable of defending, they are free to retaliate. So really it comes down to whether we want to have random deaths more than we want to have deaths by the lynch. Because Ada's plan, or any variation that targets another House, is likely to result in 2 random deaths.
  3. Well, Ada, I see a couple of problems with your plan, one minor one having to do with your assumption, and another major one. First of all, you assume that PK revealed that he was a Thug to his faction. I know in my faction, nobody has revealed the specific allomantic power that they have, only whether or not they have one at all. So if the other factions are like mine, Penrod probably didn't plan around having a thug in their faction. The other, larger problem, is that if Penrod knows that they are going to lose a member of their house to the Koloss, then why bother defending? Why lose all of their Koloss to do nothing? Instead they will most likely attack another Faction, knowing that that faction has 2 Koloss that aren't able to defend. This is the sort of plan that would have worked really well with PM communication, but won't work as well now that it is in the open.
  4. Okay, here are my thoughts on this game so far: Normally, the village finds eliminators by looking for people that seem to be working together, or with extra information. Right now, there isn't too much of that to look for, since the Inquisitor only knows two House lists and has only a single partner to work with. However, as the game progresses, both of these factors should grow considerably. Right now, however, there are two things that we can be looking for; players focusing solely on the House War aspect, and players that are mostly ignoring it. Either of these strategies seem like they would be good for the eliminators, since 1) The eliminators aren't actually involved in the House War, so investing in it could be a waste of time, and 2) inflaming the House War will distract attention from the eliminators. Additionally, since these two approaches are total opposites, the two members of the eliminator team could take both of them, and distance themselves from each other very effectively. Anywho, that is going to lead me to vote for Joe, since his post of having a single member from each house surviving both lines up with the Inquisitors win condition, and is basically irrelevant as an actual strategy.
  5. So the last faction game that I played, the GM got mad because we all went after the hidden faction, and there was a conversion mechanic that players found a little confusing to balance with their win conditions. I'm uncomfortable with revealing faction lists right now, since it is a bit early in the game, and it is something we can't undo. So I'll need some time to think about whether I think it should be done in the long run.
  6. Hadrian Penrod is signing up. Although there are rumors that he might be secretly working for a faction other than Penrod...
  7. Time for a little hunny!

  8. Yeah, Wilson was my Warder. I tried to fireball Mailliw last night, and instead hit Straw. This is my last day cycle alive :(.
  9. Well, I never said anything about damning evidence. All I said is that I suspect you, Mailliw. The reason I was waiting is that my action was redirected last night, and the results showed up in the writeup. So I was hoping that whoever redirected my action would have spoken up. Anyway, that person is probably a Darkfriend, since they caused Straw to die. My (minor) reason for suspecting Mailliw is that he knew Wilson was a Warder. And while Wilson is a very strong player that makes sense for the DF team to target at any time, I trust Mailliw less now since he is the only person I know of that had that information, and thus knew that taking out Wilson would cause a double-kill. So again, I'm not saying lynch Mailliw, since my vote is on Conquestor, where I believe it should be. But it's something to consider for you guys when weighing suspicions.
  10. @Mailliw: I already said that I am waiting to see if any other players have a response to the writeup, and I want to give them a chance to respond before I post.
  11. Conquestor, the reason I think nobody has really mentioned you is that in both of those cases, you only made a single, small post, and in each case, rather than defend the player, you pushed for the lynch of someone else. Now, in and of itself that is villagery, since other players can, for the most part, defend themselves. However, I find you suspicious because I feel like you are overstating how much involvement you actually had in those lynches. And I'm going to wait until this evening to say anything further about Mailliw.
  12. Sorry Conquestor, I meant that vote more as a statement of my intentions as opposed to something that you should feel like you have to defend against. Looking back now, I definitely confused this game with the Aleran MR, where I thought you were very suspicious. However, there are a couple of things: You got really excited when Lopen pointed out how you had defended Sart Day 1 (which is a weird thing to be excited about...). But during Day 1, you only made 1 notable comment about Sart, which basically says you thought people should vote based off their own suspicions, rather than those of other people. So this feels a little inconsistent to me, like you had plan to defend Sart, or you wanted to defend him more, but that didn't come out in the thread, just when you recalled Cycle 1. There is a similar situation with Gunshy. You say (or admit, perhaps) that you defended him, but again, it was only in 1 small post where you thought Elodin was a better candidate.
  13. Well, I'm not really feeling the threat of a lynch. I'm kind of waiting to hear something, because based on what was revealed in the writeup, there might be a player that has comments to make about me. I just want to wait a few hours until I am sure everyone has read the writeup, and then I'll explain. It is also why I haven't backed my vague comments about Mailliw up with a vote. I'm actually going to out my vote on Conquestor right now, mostly because of accumulated bad gut feelings about his posts.
  14. STINK, could you explain your vote on Mailliw to me? I'm a bit suspicious of him, and a bit more so after that night cycle. I have something I want to share, but I need to wait for a bit better timing right now.
  15. Okay, so my suspicions list is currently Conquestor and Mailliw. My reasoning behind suspecting Mailliw is something from a PM I had, which I am going to keep to myself for now. As for Conquestor, he has made a few posts that just didn't sit very well with me. I don't know his playstyle very well, but I will probably try to build an argument for his possible lynch next day turn.
  16. Joe, there was no corruption last night. If you redirected Meta, and he was Fain but didn't send in an order, then I assume nothing would have happened. However, I doubt that Fain would also be a dreamwalker. While it could be possible, I doubt Fain has any role.
  17. Bother. I was in the middle of writing a post and my internet went out... Sorry for not contributing much this cycle. I have time tomorrow afternoon, so I'll try and finish my thoughts before the end of the night cycle.
  18. Here are a couple of quick comments on some things that have been mentioned recently before I go reread stuff and post a vote. I don't have much suspicion of Meta at all. The only thing he has done this game that I took note of was his discussion with Wilson, which seemed uncharacteristically frustrated to me. I would like to know, Meta, did anything unrelated to this game come up with you that caused that change in tone, since you are usually very level-headed? I also don't have too much on Elbereth, although there is something I remember seeing you post that struck me as off. I'll go back and find that for my later post. I don't have a read on Aman at all, so I guess I should change that soon. As for mayor, I will vote for Alain (myself). He doesn't really want to be mayor, but he can definitely get some stuff done if he gets thrust into the role.
  19. Might as well make all this public: Action 1: Who: Arista What: Developing a tourism business at Hadrium for the Caverns Why: To attract visitors to the city so the nobility can see the effectiveness of House Penrod's methods Where: Hadrium Action 2: Who: Arista What: Finding an NPC wife for my heir Where: Hadrium Action 3: Who: Arista What: Moving all of the resources House Penrod has at the University in Fellise to a new location in Hadrium Why: To promote education and to deprive House Zerrung of our knowledge Where: From Fellise to Hadrium Response to the event: House Penrod is pulling out all of the reputation it built up with the skaa of Fellise and telling them to overthrow House Zerrung in favor of the Steel Ministry.
  20. I have a couple of minor things that I want to say, and I will try and tie them into some actual suspicions and a vote a bit later in the cycle. The first one is something that has been bugging me a bit, and that is when people say that we need "focus on Fain" or "focus on the Darkfriends." As far as I can tell, both of those statements are equivalent to "play mafia as a villager," since we don't really have any way to distinguish the corrupted from the Darkfriends. And nobody that has made a post along those lines and then gone on to say what sorts of changes we should make to go about hunting one team over the other. So when I post my suspicions later, people with posts along the lines of what I mentioned will be higher up than others. The other thing is much less important, and I just want to agree with Mailliw (and disagree with phatt) about vigilante roles. I have a different reason though. It is often implied that we should not kill this person or lynch this cycle or use vigilante kills or whatever because of roles. Roles are important, I acknowledge that. But we can't let roles be a reason not to kill people. We have Troll GMs, if you hadn't noticed. And vanilla roles can totally win a game by themselves, and probably have much more fun than a game where everyone gets scanned by a protected person. Okay, so that's what I wanted to say, and I know that both of those points are more meta/gameplay related as opposed to being useful for finding Darkfriends. What I said is also just my opinion. But I feel like they have each come up enough that they were worth mentioning.
  21. Okay, I've read through the thread twice now, and I think I have some semblance of what was going on. Elodin is suspicious circumstantially, because of the role-blocking that happened, and I found his conversation with Wilson later on to add to that. I am comfortable voting for him right now. I also think that, if he isn't lynched, we might get some insight from whitecloacks during the night. But we are voting to lynch now, so I'm fine either way. For some reason, Wilson's post about why Gunshy is suspicious struck me as off a bit. But when I went back and actually analyzed what she said, the point about there being evidence against Sart makes sense to me, so I ultimately agree here. I would probably vote for Gunshy as well. Hellscythe also jumped onto my suspicion list by quite a bit from what Elbereth pointed out. I don't really understand why you would say something like that, when we can go back and check on it. I'm not sure if there is a good explanation here, but I'm listening. I found the exchange between Wilson and Meta about the other one being Fain to be kind of suspicious, for both of them. But that is more because it seemed somewhat charged, and they tend to be a bit more level-headed players. However, both of them have made other posts in which they indicated frustration. So I'll wait to pass judgement on that. Edit: Nyali, I want you to come back! You are a wanted player! (in multiple senses of the word) But I didn't really catch any of that exchange or what Nyali claimed to be.
  22. Hey guys, I haven't read through today's thread yet, but I saw a couple people wanted me to talk more. I'm job hunting right now, so my time has been a little limited, and I will try to post something significant later this evening.
  23. Public actions: Action 1: Who: Arista, as House Lady What: Trying for an Heir Names: Alain (male), Alana (female) Where: Keep Penrod Why: Cuz Kids!
