  1. Well, the first image that showed up when doing a quick google-search for "ghostbloods" was this: So I suppose the book, and thus also the Coppermind article, is wrong.
  2. I'd recommend one of the classics: The Earthsea-trilogy by Ursula LeGuin. It is not that long, but it's good.
  3. It isn't from any currently available material. It's just a passage Brandon showed us for I-cannot-remember-what reason.
  4. And do consider Oslo, please. I would be ecstatic if I could go to a signing!
  5. Maybe Sadeas is really an evil dragon? SLAY HIM!
  6. Doesn't really matter. Neither Allomantic gold nor Allomantic atium were very well understood by the citizens of the Final Empire, which was the point he was going for. Neither were paired correctly, and both were otherwise placed incorrectly into the Allomantic Table. Point is that we do not necessarily know what we think we know about Shardplates and -blades.
  7. of the doors (This is turning out BEAUTIFULLY)
  8. I've never really been comfortable with smiley's as I find them a bit artificial. But you make a good point, though. Especially considering this is a multi-national forum, I shall hence endeavour to put in smileys wherever they seem pertinent! First try:
  9. Well, I certainly do! In my humble opinion, all of your major posts in this Thread should have the "popular" star.
  10. 'Twas meant to be taken as a joke. Don't slam me, up-vote me! Also, that's cool! Do you have a link to the article?
  11. You do know that Edgar swung the Axe only because Metacognition wrote it that way, right? While I know I certainly would have been tempted to make a Spiked villager into the headsman, for obviously (and hilarious) symbolical reasons, I do not think the GM would (or at least should not) be so careless. But hey! Can't argue with rampant paranoia! ^^
  12. Despite himself, Aether laughed at Darman's dark joke, and the guilt burdened him even more. Time to hit the scotch again, Aether thought to himself while disappearing into the twilight. I hate how I cannot help but cringe at that word ever since the bloody Twilight-saga became mainstream. And it is such a pretty word too! Now temporarily forever ruined until we've finally forgotten about it.
  13. Yeah! Fork off! Shame on you!!!! In all seriousness, I disagree. Of course, you shouldn't just make a Thread about any random thought, but it helps the discussion to present new and different ideas, even if they later turn out to be wrong. If nothing else, we've been able to write off an idea, and even a wrong idea might still inspire another one that turns out to be correct. EDIT: Removed the asterisks. And added a smiley.
  14. Aether felt guilty for the death of Grayv. True, since he had waited so long to join the accursed debate, his vote hadn't actually had much effect, but he had still been a part of it. His only comfort was that Grayv seemed to have welcomed his death. "At least now the memories will not haunt you anymore." And with that, Aether stalked through the crowd and away from the execution platform.

Alas, again my feeble attempt at a joke is thwarted by my own lack of humour! In the Emperor's Soul, there is an "unforgeable metal". Does this mean that there are two kinds of Soulforging? I do not think Aluminum's peculiar nature on Scadrial necessitate a fourth metallic art. I suppose you could call whatever the Southerners are doing "the fourth metallic art", but I don't think that makes it an actual system of "Shardic" magic. I think it is exactly what we've been told: a mechanical way of accessing Allomancy (and possibly Feruchemy as well).
  16. Yes, yes it would, which is why the Elantrians went all leper-zombies on us! It is also possible that the Shaod itself was naturally occurring, and that the original Elantrians somehow amplified or refined this with the creation of Elantris. The Shaod would then naturally keep on despite the appearance of the chasm, but the process would be twisted and broken because the amplifying mechanism stopped working (properly).
  17. I've never really understood the point of vegetarianism anyway. How exactly are you helping or being kind to the animals if you eat their food? EDIT: Added Smiley. EDIT 2: Forgot to add Smiley.

How about "the Fourth Metallic Art"? Or maybe "Metallurgy"? And while I think it would be cool to have four metallic arts because of its relationship with 16, I do not think "a mechanical way to access the Metallic Arts" would necessarily mean that there is a fourth one. The three Metallic arts had more to do with the interaction of the Scadrian Shards themselves, I felt, rather than the expression of investiture on Scardial. On the other hand, it fits well with Brandon's devious nature as a writer.
  19. No. Please elaborate. Mine is Hrathen. When reading through, I found Raoden's chapters to be the most exiting ones, but Hrathen is by far the most interesting and well-developed character.
  20. Here's the quote: I think it is a bit much to assume that Devotion and Dominion "counter" Odium, just that these were two shards that might have been working together and that could have ended up turning against him.
  21. Does he say anything to that effect in the Mistborn-series?
  22. about the Dor (I dare you to say "by the Doors")
  23. Sorry for being away for so long, but I've been busy moving. Plus, I only have time today for this single post: I've been absent, but I've hear all of your arguments. Quite frankly, I am a bit suspicious about certain players, but since I came so late to the discussion, I am going to voice my thoughts tommorrow, rather, and vote with the majority today. Sorry, Grayv, nothing personal, but right now it is better to just kill someone rather than do nothing.
