THat was awesome wyrm!!! Thanks for running this. So so did anyone in the anti lord ruler alliance see my betrayal coming? I noticed our document went quiet a while ago and was wondering if I'd been found out. I thought my spying would be enough to give TLR an edge, but I guess not. As a side note, had he not given up, couldn't Rashek have compounded food or calories to survive? I also thought there were some tin cans in the cavern below the palace with food, but maybe that's different in our AU. I was really hoping Vin would make an appearance but I guess that's still to come On the whole I wish I'd had more time to commit to the mid turn scheming, but it seemed like a struggle a lot of the time just to get my actions together in time. With the actions to be disclosed are we free to reveal game secrets? I don't want to spoil anything prematurely. (Also Wilson, I think I can figure out a way to share the family tree the next time I'm on my computer).

I think part of writing a free form rpg is that you leave the future somewhat open so that the characters have room to interact and surprise people. It's a collaborative story, so leaving room for collaboration and input from players Ian important. That at being said, I know I definitely have some end game plots for Corvallis's destruction that may not be all the way foreshadowed at this point and I'm sure other GMs do as well.

The Princess woke from a disturbing dream, instantly vanishing the sweat on her body with a flourish of her power. "Now that was simply dreadful," she said, only realizing she was alone when she began speaking to herself. It would appear that Kenshin was still out and about assisting Queen Buttercup. "Oh my, it was truly wonderful of Kenshin to let me stay and rest here, even if I had that nasty dream. I simply must do something to repair her!" Gliding gracefully over to the door, the Princess opened it to find Sebastien waiting faithfully in the rain, holding her parasol and the reigns of both their horses in his hand. Her cleaning crew was nowhere to be seen, but the area looked spotless. "I sent the others onward, Highness, so that they might continue their duties." The Princess resisted the slight urge to rebuke Sebastian for his insolence. She had told him to keep the workers on task, and it wasn't his fault that they had finished cleaning while the Princess slept. Besides, it was good to know that she didn't have to worry about the wearisome work of directing the crew. "Thank-you Sebastien, dear. We shall rejoin them presently. For now though, we simply must do something to repay Lady Kenshin for her kindness. Her house is marvelously clean, and the has the loveliest of knives, but the decor is a tad spartan if I do say so myself. Why don't you come in and see for yourself?" The Princess skipped back into the room, humming to encourage the horses, and Sebastien, to join her in the living room. As they entered the house, she also gave them each a quick tap to to cleanse them of the water and muck they had acquired in the rain so they would not dirty Kenshin's immaculate home. "Now then, let's see what we can do here, shall we?" Skipping over to a window, the Princess opened and and called out in song, summoning any nearby animal helpers to her presence. "Aaaaah-aaaaaaah-aaaaaaaah, aaaaaaah-aaaah-aaaaah, aaaaaaah-aaaaah-AAAAAAAAAAH!" Slowly, the animals in the area began responding to her song. Soon she had a small group of birds, rats, insects, and a cat attending on her. "All right now little friends, let's get to work, shall we?" "Beeeecause when you have friends like I do, You're as lucky as can be. It's important to repay them, Because nothing comes for freee!" "Sooooooooooooooo..." The assembled animals, including the horses and Sebastien, stood at attention, ready to begin following her instructions. The Princess smiled during the pause in her song and stamped her foot, adding sparkling glitter to amplify the shininess of the spotless floor. \ "Let's cutify the furniture, And beautify the walls! Every touch just has to be the prettiest of aaaaall! Because our host has done her best to help us on our way, We simply must repay her, and that's why we're here to say: "KENSHIN, we're her help you FASHION up your space! KENSHIN, we're lucky to have you, Sooooo let us help you put a smile on your faaace!" As the Princess's song continued, she danced around the room, adding lace and frills and glitter to every surface she touched. After trying and failing to find something that was not already clean, her animal friends settled on performing as back-up dancers. The Princess smiled as she studied her work. Kenshin was going to be just thrilled when she got home.

So I'm I'd like to RP some more with Altermind. Are there an Portlandians wandering around his route that he could run into? EDIT: Princess post up! @Mestiv, if you want, I was thinking the cat who shows up could be Summer's friend, but it's fine if you'd rather it be a different kitty.

Hello everyone. I've observed a common trend of new players asking for a summary of the different threads before they join. I've written the summary for Corvallis a half dozen times, but I can never seem to find my old post the next time someone asks. I thought it would be a good idea for the GMs of the different threads to post their summaries here, and then we can just link new players to particular posts when asked for a summary. Anyways, here's my most recent summary of What Happened in Corvallis. I don't like it as much as I remember liking older summaries, so I might tweak it if I ever track down the others. What Happened in Corvallis ...

I’ll second Leinton’s comments and remind everyone that threads have different purposes, and to try not to hijack threads that have different purposes, and there is a difference between discussing LGB inclusion in the books, and discussing different opinions gender and sexual diversity in our society. Both discussions have their place, but it’s not fun when you start or participate in a thread expecting one thing, only to have it mutate into something else. Admin hat off, commenter hat on: I'm also a Shadolin fan, but fully support a Bisexual interpretation of Shallan. On the point of acceptance of different sexualities in Rosharan societies, I think that with the highly structured gender roles, it's unlikely that independant romantic same sex pairings would exist. With the warrior culture, there might be examples similar to Greek homosexuality, where people (mainly men) would take same sex lovers (usually in older mentor/younger mentee pairings), but then still go on to marry a person of the opposite sex. In Roshar, I'm guessing things would be a little more egalitarian in that women and men would participate in the custom equally, and the sexual aspect might be played down. So I could see there being, say, young people forming same-sex romantic partnerships, but the expectation of society would be that they eventually settle down with someone of the opposite gender, even though their current relationship status is not necessarily disapproved of. Just speculation of course. I am expecting Rosharans to have different views of sexuality than earth world, but with their strict gender roles I can't see full acceptance being a thing.

I thought I responded to these earlier today, but I guess my post did not go through. Argon will definitely hear about it -- there will be an announcement Sounds like a decent plan to me . One clarification - Converter is outside the city now. Gelliton air-proofed her prison, and then Converter suffocated and reincarnated outside the Bubble.

My next plans were (a) to have Rainmaker and the Queen's meet, (b) check in with Princess GOOD, (c) have another public "speech" type scene where Rainmaker addresses the population, and (d) secrets (let me know if I am missing anything. What were your ideas for moving the plot along? I'm open to pretty much anything :).

Hard to ship someone without a ship to ship them ;). He's alone in a diner with no idea what to do, eating some grilled cheese. I wanna keep writing him but I'm not really sure what to do next. Edit: on the subject of Ian, I checked and Portland is only an 8 hour bike ride from Corvallis which is way more doable than travelling to the Dalles in less than two days. If no one is opposed, I'll get an intro post together and insert him into Portland the next time I get the chance.

After she got things sorted out with Chasmfiend and had the servants sent back to HR to be reassigned, Rainmaker returned to her office at the University, and had her increasingly despondent servants send for a bottle of fine wine and her masseuse. It seemed like her servants were feeling the effects of Euphoria's absence more keenly than the humans Rainmaker had observed in the streets. Before Euphoria's disappearance, positions on Rainmaker's staff were highly coveted, as one of the perks included an unlimited and continuous supply of Euphoria's power. If withdrawal from the loss of their unnatural happiness continued to cause dissatisfaction, Rainmaker would have to find an alternative way to bring the quality of her servants' service back up to an acceptable level. After a few glasses of wine, her masseuse arrived and started to knead out Rainmaker's cares and stresses with her capable hands. As she relaxed, Rainmaker sent out a quick text to her fellow queens, requesting their presence in her office. It was time they assembled and made a plan to address the threats to their rule once and for all.

Altermind post up! Let me know if you guys spot any contradictions or inconsistencies in the character or in the events. Also let me know what you guys think of Alterminds chosen course of action, and if there are any problems with it. If there are, I'm open to changing or workshopping things, so please do not hesitate to voice any potential concerns.

Altermind stood, suddenly standing alone in his office. His projection froze in place at the desk; with no observers present, there was no need to keep a facade that the thing was living and breathing, but he left it in place just in case someone burst in unannounced. He almost wished he could say that he was surprised that Funtimes had abandoned him, taking her retinue and Voidgaze with her a whim, but the move was all to characteristic of the mad matter manipulator. Invisible to any potential observers, Altermind moved over to look outside his window to check on the work that Funtimes had managed to complete. As per his instructions, the U-Shaped school building and the attached wings were hovering about a meter off the ground, making the surrounding school buildings and the houses across the street seem shorter by comparison. At least she didn't add glitter. Despite his irritation, Altermind felt himself relax slightly. Though he was reasonably certain Streetwise's abilities were not able to see through his illusions, Corpsemaker's unfetterred ability to spy on HQ had been wearing on Altermind, and having a space that was free from Streetwise's observation provided a small amount of comfort. Now he could focus on eliminating the considerable threat Corpsemaker posed without worrying that the Basilisk epic's spy was tracking his every move. Satisfied, Altermind moved back to his desk, pulling the chair out from under his projection with his telekinesis and replacing it with an illusory one. Always wary of the danger presented by snipers, standing in the same spot as his projected self was not a risk Altermind was willing to take. Instead, he worked at the side of the desk, keeping his real position hidden with his powers. Taking out his mobile, which had been buzzing repeatedly since Funtimes worked her magic, Altermind began responding to his immediate underlings, telling them that the sudden rise of HQ was a planned collaboration with Thoughttown's Allies, not an attack. He instructed his subordinates to arrange for rope bridges and ladders to be made and fastened to facilitate easy movement from HQ to the ground. While he was impatient to get Funtimes working on the rest of his list, he did not enjoy the idea of chasing after her from location to location trying to get her to cooperate. His aids were already instructed to ask Funtimes to return to his office if they saw her, so that would have to do for the moment. Once the pandemonium ceased, Altermind took out his notes and turned his intellect towards figuring out how he was going to deal with Corpsemaker. Lucentia's idea--to encase the Basilisk Epic in diamond, was a good one, but Altermind did not like how much the plan relied on the Diamond Queen's cooperation. What was to stop Lucentia from holding Corpsemaker's imprisonment over them all afterwards, threatening to release him if they did not succumb to her wishes? Why had the Diamond Queen chosen to leave her own city and come to Portland in the first place? Taking his mobile again, Altermind sent a message to the coordinator of his intelligence network, asking for an update on the Diamond Queen's movements and activities since her arrival in Portland. If he could obtain information, Altermind was confident he could puzzle out Lucentia's motives, and make a more informed decision of how he wanted to use her against Corpsemaker. As he waited for and update from Funtimes or his spies, Altermind's thoughts unintentionally slid towards thinking about the Trattner girl, and her unfortunate activation of his weakness. He would need to watch her closely--if she discovered how she had triggered his weakness and then disclosed it to Lightwards or Funtimes, he would have no choice but to abandon Thoughttown before they came to destroy him. Normally a mere vanilla would present no danger, but as long as the goth was under Funtimes's protection and Altermind continued to need the matter manipulator's services, he would need to find a different way to keep her under control. If only he had some form of leverage. Offering to accept her mother into Thoughttown, despite her intellectual ineptitude, might have worked, but Altermind's pride would not allow him to compromise Thoughttown's integrity, and Samantha Trattner's rejection of everything he had worked for still stung. Altermind's spymaster proved to be more punctual than Funtimes, and the report on Lucentia's activities arrived before any news of Funtimes did. Before he opened the report, Altermind sent a quick text to Voidgaze, requesting that she instruct Funtimes to return as soon as possible. The report was short, and was of little assistance in determining Lucentia's motives. Much of her observed activity since arriving in Portland was tied to assisting Lightwards. Most of the reports were varying descriptions of the Diamond Queen fighting off attackers with ease during the previous night's invasion. While the accounts of her creating diamond constructs out of thin air, trapping epics, and encasing houses in diamond were informative about the extent of her abilities, they shed little light on any hidden motivations. Altermind sent another text to his agents, telling them to see what else they could dig up. If only he could catch her doing something other than defeating attackers or cooperating with Lightwards--something that she didn't have to do that would reveal her plans to Altermind. Something like... Like encasing a house in diamond? That certainly was odd. Altermind re-read that section of the report. While no one had seen Lucentia there, one of Altermind's agents had reported a single house on a residential block whose doors and windows were coated in diamonds. It was possible the diamonds had been set there by another epic. Funtimes, for instance, likely would have been capable of creating diamonds with her powers, but it was too much of a coincidence not to be looked into. Who or what was the Diamond Queen trying to trap inside that house, or. alternatively, what was she trying to protect? Altermind jotted down a list of requests--mostly weapons (including paintball guns with white ammunition for Voidgaze's squad), food, and medical supplies--and left it with his assistants in case Funtimes returned. Once he was alone again, he moved to a back exit and climbed down from HQ, dismissing his projection and leaving himself completely invisible. After arming himself and retrieving his bullet bike, Altermind, still invisible, set off towards the coordinates from the report. All right Diamond Queen, let's see what you are hiding.

I think I'm free to go with Rainmaker and we can start a Queens meeting when the Kenshin Buttercup scene is done. Once I have Internet (on the 15th) I could even start with Rainmaker then.

Still no internet thanks to a miscommunication between our building manager and the internet provider which was not our fault at all. With students returning for University getting hooked up it looks like we might not have service until the 21st . Hopefully I'll be able to write some without wifi and then find a spot to upload from. I'll keep you posted!

Yeah the Lorist. Just reading through Portland again got me excited about Portland, so I thought it would be fun to have one of my own characters there, and I had a Vanilla handy so why not? I think he'd also do well in the Dalles so I'm open to either.

I have no internet right now, but an Altermind post is in the works and I will post it when I can. Am I correct that he just got ditched by Fun Times and Co and is now alone in his floating office? Anyone who chatted with Mailliw have any guidance where I should head next with him, or is it fine to just go for it? Also, for those of you who remember Ian Buhler, I'm thinking of putting him in Portland instead of the Dalles. Any reason I should not??

Doesn't David say that all incorporeal a can 'fly'. It makes sense that gravity would not impact you if you have no solid form (at least to my uneducated mind), but I guess the extent to which an incorporeal can control their movement may be up for debate. I know I tweaked Insight's power profile after rereading some Nightwielder scenes and I thought the flight thing was one of those.
