Does anyone know how the notion of the Cosmere was first discovered? Did Brandon have to give clues (other than in his books), or did someone ask him about it first? Finally, how many books were released before it was noticed? Was it just Elantris and Mistborn or was Warbreaker/Stormlight Archive too?

FYI, here are links to the two released chapters in case you missed one:

I've always felt like this description by Ym, from WoR Interlude 2, could fit. Maybe Adonalsium is One and became many (split or shattered) on purpose or maybe One split into Adonalsium and it's opposing force (The Void?) and perhaps more forces are out there.

My wife jokingly gloats that she is a lighteyes and is above me as a lowly darkeyes. Her eyes are a blue/grey and I'm dark yellow/brown depending on the angle of light. All my kids are lighteyes except my youngest daughter. I imagine that those with a medium shade of eye color would be considered darkeyed, much like those in our society are considered black even if it's a very light shade of skin color.

My guess would be Shadesmar. Given the screams that dead shardblade spren make, perhaps even the "place of tourment," but that is only a wild guess too. Death for a spren is not as permanent as a physical death to you or me. When Kaladin asked Syl about it, she simply replied, "I was only as dead as your oaths, Kaladin." (Words of Radiance, Chapter 86, page 1030). I believe dead shardblade spren will also come back to life as Kinghts Radiants renew their oaths. It's a mystery that will remain until Brandon Sanderson explains it.

Has a spren ever interacted with Hoid directly/made their presence known to Hoid? Hoid seems to have obtained a piece of magic ability from the worlds he visits (speculation), so does he ever have a use for stormlight?

Does Szeth need Breath to wield Nightblood?
navybrandt replied to mhelvens's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Can't the Knights Radiant make squires - or at least gain them in someway? Perhaps different orders can make their own at will and other orders gain them randomly (speculation). The Heralds, like Nalan (probably), might be able to do this as well. Anyway, maybe Nalan is only making Szeth into a squire.- 22 replies

Brandon Tweaking Words Of Radiance
navybrandt replied to Kelsier Kenobi's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree, I meant that he let Kaladin sever his hand and also he released the bond. The point was that suicide was no longer an issue since he was never Truthless. -
Brandon Tweaking Words Of Radiance
navybrandt replied to Kelsier Kenobi's topic in Stormlight Archive
Szeth committing suicide is not a problem. His prohibition on suicide was because he was Truthless, but he realizes at the end that he's not. He says, "Then I was right all along. I was never Truthless. I could have stopped the murders at any time." That's when Szeth stops fighting and gives up and lets Kaladin kill him (or sever his hand). Edit: Spelling & confusion -
Well, in real life, I carry a gun but don't wear body armor, so I guess I'd choose the blade over the plate. Perfect every day carry on Roshar.

shattered lens chapter titles
navybrandt replied to luminos's topic in Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians
Could this be an obscure reference to the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral? Actually, you can. In mathematics, infinity plus one has meaning for the hyperreal numbers, the number ω+1 (omega plus one) in the ordinal numbers, and surreal numbers. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordinal_number, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperreal_number, and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surreal_number. -
Stormlight Archive Reread [Updated: 02/27/2015]
navybrandt replied to Frosted Flakes's topic in Stormlight Archive
You can set up a free wiki account at a bunch of places. Two popular ones are http://www.wikidot.com/ and http://www.wikia.com/Wikia. The Wikia one is probably your best choice for something like this. Then just post the link on this page and everyone can update it without just adding comments. -
Stormlight Archive Reread [Updated: 02/27/2015]
navybrandt replied to Frosted Flakes's topic in Stormlight Archive
Could this topic be set up in a wiki? I'd like to add comments, but with a bunch of people doing that, it'd get buried and lost. -
Sorry, I down voted you a lot until I realized this was over. I canceled them out with up votes though.

the Stick's Popularity (Minor WoR Spoilers)
navybrandt replied to RawToast225's topic in Stormlight Archive
Come on, stick with the program, or am I going to have to stick you with my stick?! Because just one stick is so easy to break, but if all us sticks stick together, we are strong! Stick with me and we can get out of any sticky situation. Here, stick this sticker on your stuck finger. I promise not to stick you with the bill for all the sticks of gum and glue sticks. Because the stick is more effective than the carrot. I ate drumsticks and a stuck pig in my stick house in the sticks! Stick to your principles or stick a fork in it! My hair really sticks up when I'm in a stick up. I use a hockey stick for my walking stick. I'm sticking this away now, before I use up my memory stick.- 26 replies

Theory: Honorblades are the physical manifestation of Honor
navybrandt replied to navybrandt's topic in Stormlight Archive
I was referring to Dalimar's vision. I have not seen any credible evidence that the Radiants were wearing spren-plate and personally I believe they were wearing "regular" Shardplate that we see throughout SA. The more I think about it, the more I think they are just fabrials, but I don't really know for sure.- 26 replies

Granted, there will be a character named "After Me." You also can never read the book or any other SA books. I wish I didn't require sleep. -
Theory: Honorblades are the physical manifestation of Honor
navybrandt replied to navybrandt's topic in Stormlight Archive
In the WoK Prologue, didn't Szeth say he had to choose between using lashings and Shardplate? Something about the lashings interfering with the gems in the Plate. Perhaps it's because Szeth gets his power from the HonorBlade instead of a spren, because I'm pretty sure we see Radiants surgebinding while wearing Plate. Anyway, perhaps the same limitation holds true for the Heralds.- 26 replies
