  1. Boo. Had a bunch of RP planned out, but the site is all funky, so I'll make this quick. I've been told by anonymous sources that Asp has been Seeked and revealed to be a Spiked Mistborn. This person has Seeked me and sucessfully told me my Role, so I might be falling for the same trap I did in the first game, but with Clan's statistics, I feel more comfortable with our chances. So if this turns out bad, I completely understand the want/need to lynch or kill me next.
  2. Welcome to the Forums! And don't worry. If you're still new to the Cosmere, the truth behind what is actually going on there is so much cooler than you can even possibly think right now.
  3. I was just wondering what the differences of sDNA or whatever would effect how people gain Investiture. We assume Vasher can absorb Stormlight as breaths, so let's make him the base line for our study. How much Stormlight would he need for one breath? If we find this out (or if characters in the book somehow figure this out), then I really think this could be the form of quantitative property Sizgil has been so desperately searching for. Then he could do the math to figure out how long Kaladin can stick one-armed Herdazians to the wall!
  4. Remember, Hoid/Wit was around when Taln first showed up and dropped his blade in Way of Kings. And then he wasn't there anymore when Bordin showed up with Taln the Madman. Most people here are pretty sure Hoid switched out Taln's Honorblade with a Shardblade before anybody even noticed. So Dalinar never got or bonded Taln's Honorblade, just some random Shardblade. Evidence for that is Dalinar never showed any Stonewarden surging or powers, or even Stormlight absorption. And then, yeah. The screams when he touches it after taking his oath is the clincher.
  5. Yeah. According to the Coppermind, it takes place on the Shardworld Threnody. It's a pretty unimportant world, I guess, and I don't even think it has a Shard of itself. Nor did Hoid even make an appearance, (at least that I know of). But apparently Nazh was there long enough to pick up their language (or maybe even originate from there himself). Also, besides the very briefest of mentions of Nazh pretending to be an Ardent and coming up to Bridge 4 to copy their tattoos, have we seen Nazh anywhere else yet, for sure?
  6. Also, I think it's worth noting, advanced mathematical concepts aren't that abstract on Roshar. In our real world, we had ancient Arabic civilizations completely invent Algebra and other amazing progress in mathematics, Babylonians were doing work making the baseline of our knowledge of algorithms. And those types of scientific and mathematical progress were stopped at various points throughout history, due to war, politics, and religion. The Ardents and the Church have been doing these practices consistently for millennia. . And then as people have said, without even the Heralds handing this knowledge down, we have Spren to help people get an understanding of the world. People would see rotspren would gather around nasty, infected wounds. This was a visual clue. Then they found natural antiseptics and things that drove the rotspren away. That puts them hundreds, if not thousands of years ahead of our history. We didn't even start washing our hands for medical procedures until almost the 1900's! People on Roshar knew better than that since the last Desolation.
  7. ...Unless that's what they wanted us to think! (Dun, Dun, Dun!) But yeah, I don't really see the point of missing out on two kills the first night. But who knows? When you're constantly hearing the whispers of Ruin, anything can sound like a good idea, I suppose.
  8. In the Shadows for Silence... short story in the Dangerous Women Anthology, 'Shadows' is used as a curse. So now I definitely think Nazh is a Worldhopper, and has almost guaranteed been on that system before. And he might be working with the Unknown Terriswoman. (We know he's at least working with a female, and how many women worldhoppers can there be?)
  9. Since it now seems pretty well accepted that Stormlight can substitute Breaths for Investiture, I have a few questions. If a Drab were to go to Roshar, could they absorb Stormlight from Spheres? And would they be able to gain basically unlimited Breaths? Also, since we might be seeing Stormlight equivalent of Breaths being used on Roshar, are Breaths the mystical Unit of Measurement Sizgil has been looking for? If you can gain Breaths from Spheres, how much is 1 Breath in Stormlight? A diamond chip? A broam? Maybe even a full gemheart? What do you guys think?
  10. Do you think Brandon releasing Warbreaker for free was also part of this "big plan" of his? Since he had Nightblood and Vasher planned to be in Stormlight Archive, maybe he thought releasing it for free would entice a lot more people to read it? I wasn't around/aware of Sanderson at the time, but from what I've read and seen, the free release of Warbreaker went off pretty well. If so, then very sneaky, Mr. Sanderson. Very sneaky.
  11. I totally understand why I'm on the top of the Suspect List. I didn't really actually expect you guys hitting a spiked. I completely get the need to gain information, and the lynch did give us a lot to work from. I just didn't want us to acidentally hang an important Misting, like has been the case for almost all hangings in the other games. What if Erendi would have been a Villager Coinshot? It was the same chances of him being that as a Spiked. I am of course extremely glad that he was in fact a Spiked, but you can at least understand my reluctance? Yes, my plan would have not netted as nearly as much information. We'd still just be discussing instead of actually hitting a Spiked. But I thought the trade off of having one less death was worth the waste of a Day Lynch. We still would have had suspicions to work from going into the Night Cycle. But remember, I completely thought we were going to be hitting a villager Misting. It was basically a 75% chance.
  12. Just have Lift bring more food. I don't think she even needs spheres. From how I read her interlude, she doesn't absorb stormlight from spheres at all. She was using one when she first snuck into the palace to see around, right after she used some of her "awesomeness", and it was still glowing. I think Darkness' bit with the Spheres in the hallway was just out of reflex of dealing with normal Surgebinders. And we know Lift is anything but normal. Being normal is unlucky.
  13. I actually think Adolin will revive his Spren and become an Edgedancer. Releaser's mention of Vines up above, and I looked up Edgedancers on the Coppermind: And when Dalinar's having a vision, doesn't one of the Radiants plate remind him of Adolin's? And aren't they an Edgedancer? And then from the WoR Epigraph: “When Simol was informed of the arrival of the Edgedancers, a concealed consternation and terror, as is common in such cases, fell upon him; although they were not the most demanding of orders, their graceful, limber movements hid a deadliness that was, by this time, quite renowned; also, they were the most articulate and refined of the Radiants. —From Words of Radiance, chapter 20, page 12”Adolin seems like a type of person who moves with a limber grace, hiding the deadliness of beauty of motion like Duelist. I'm not exactly sure how the Second Ideal of the Edgedancer's will work with him yet, though. "I will remember those who have been forgotten" It cooouuld be a stretch that he could relate that idea to when him, his father, and their entire army got left behind by Sadeas. But I don't think that would quite work.
  14. That's what this Thread reminds me of...
  15. Not true. In the last game all of my Riots looked like Soothing. You just change somebody else's vote to what you're voting for. Your vote would cancel, but then the vote that you changed makes up for your missing vote. That's why I was so sucessful as the Spiked Soother last game. Since all my Riots from the very beginning looked the same once I started Soothing. Edit: But I am more positive that it was either the Soother or Duralumin Ferring and not the Rioter in this case.
  16. So here's what I think happened with the vote. The Negated vote for Mabi could be either 1)Soothing, 2) Rioting that looks like Soothing. And either of those would have been pulled by people in the Erendi voting block or 3)Duralumin charging, which would be somebody from the Mabi voting block. So we have it narrowed down to one of the three Emotional Arts. But also, I think we should look at those last minute votes for Mabi. It could very well have been the Spiked coming in and trying to save Erendi last minute. Now, that move would basically put all of them right in the cross hairs, so that would have been pretty risky of them. But we should still pay attention to those votes, I think.
  17. Huh. Well. Gamut timidly walks up to Meta and stretches out his hand, "Parley?" He had never made it a habit of being wrong, but Gamma was so glad he was wrong this time. Guess I pretty much look like the fool for opposing the Lynching. XD Edit: Besides that voting block being Soothed, someone could have stored their vote with Duralumin, or somebodies Vote could have been Rioted to look like a Soothing. (Unless Peng fixed Rioting like Meta was thinking of at the end of last game)
  18. It's not like Adolin just killed Sadeas solely because "he's a really mean person". Yeah, it was in a rage. But that's because he realized just how much of an eel Sadeas is. He knew Sadeas would stop at nothing to undermine and eventually hurt/kill his Father. (and at that point ensuring Odium's win. but to be fair, Sadeas it too much of a git to realize that). Life before Death doesn't always mean 'not killing ever'. Kaladin is out slaughtering Parshendi left and right. But it's still the right thing to do, and that's even by a strict Honorspren's moral guidelines. Adolin killing Sadeas prevented so much further strife and petty politics from his end, although I doubt Sadeas' wife will be pleases very much. I imagine she'll raise her own highstorm of trouble in revenge). Protecting those who can't protect themselves? There's a Spren for that. Uniting people, and not dividing? There's a Spren for that. Tearing your family apart with your lies and Matricide? There's even a Spren for that. So I'm totally willing to bet there's an appropriate Spren for driving a dagger through Sadeas' eye. Is there a KR Order that deals with taking out the trash? I was then going to go on about Adolin just reviving his Shardblade anyways... but I just got Ninja'd for pretty much the same points.
  19. I think somebody from Bridge 4 should get the Honorblade. I mean, it didn't work that well with regular old Shardblade/plate, but I think Moash was really the only loose cannon. Teft or Sizgil definitely deserve that weapon. (At least let Sizgil experiment with the darn thing, for Storm's Sake!). Can you imagine him flying along with Kaladin, trying to quantify the awesomeness that is Owning the Winds?
  20. Gamut's pleas began to fall on deaf ears as the Detective's persuasive arguments began to win people over and the suspicion had started to pile onto Erendi, who was sitting off alone in corner, silently scowling at everybody who looked his way. Only makes sense. Why doesn't he speak up and defend himself?! Gamut understood what the detective was trying to accomplish. He wanted the same information as Meta did. But at what means am I willing to go to reach my goal? Perhaps that was the difference between the two. Gamut tried reading through that book of his, but all the Diagrams in it just confused him. "I will stay my course. If this man is to meet Jack Ketch, then I'll have me no part. You'll find me over at Lurcher's, doing what I do best. Getting Loaded to the Gunwalls." OOC: I love how many different terms there are about hanging in Pirate Slang.
  21. AKA the Shard Hoid would best be attuned to pick up. That, or Meddling.
  22. I think it's more of Kaladin's Identity, how he sees himself. Since Stormlight Healing seems to take place in the Cognitive realm, it's all about Kaladin's thoughts and self-view. Lopen doesn't really seem to be bothered by his loss of an arm. He doesn't see it as a handicap. Although he should have a very one-armed cognitive self view, with all the jokes he makes. He'll still be the best Two-armed One-armed Herdazian who has way more cousins than you.
  23. Agreed. Kaladin taking all the burden of responsibility and guilt on himself. His next oaths should hopefully help him come to terms with that. Can't wait to see how the Roshone arc turns out. *Kaladin arrives in town in blazing, stormlight-glowy fashion.* *Tarah's all like, "erhh mah storms! you have blue eyes!"* *Kaladin says, "Ew."*
  24. Anybody else upset that Lopen never had the chance to make one-armed Herdazian jokes at Kaladin's Shardbladed arm?
  25. The less time spent on any of this relationship dynamic triangle nonsense between Adolin, Shallan, and Kaladin the better, in my opinion. There. I said it.
