  1. Who else on this board plays Word Games of the like? I prefer the original Scrabble more, but WWF is a more widely used app, it seems. My username is Jackj4391 on Words with Friends if anybody wants to play some matches. We all read a lot, so we all probably have a pretty decent vocabulary, I would wager. Game on! Edit: Fixed username.
  2. "Go straight to Damnation. Do not pass Go, do not collect 200 Investiture"?
  3. When we have a world where we resurrect dead bodies, we can't be too surprised when the Spirits of the dead try haunting us, Gammer remarked at the reported superstitious nonsense happening around the town. There was too much to worry about to add poltergeists and malevolent, possessed bunnies to the mix. So one Pahn Kahl was discovered and killed? Big whoop, Gammer thought. Didn't mean it was time to celebrate and start mixing all of your colours on the palette together. No. Killing off the most obvious suspicious player was no feat to celebrate. The true enemies that were out there lurking behind in the shadows, keeping off of everybody's radars. That was who Gammer was worried about. In a surprising act that broke from her indifferent, loner streak that she mad maintained so far, so strode up to the Red Salmon and asked Aili to bring her a bowl of soup. "Rabbit would do just nice, dear." she answered when asked what kind she preferred. Aili was only gone a moment and brought back a steaming bowl, colorfully decorated, of course. "Say," Gammer said, "Has anyone heard from Cog, lately? Where has that wacky inventor been, and what's he up to?" OOC: Just getting some votes/discussion going. And with the holiday coming up, I definitely don't want to throw anybody under the bus for just inactivity, but wouldn't mind hearing from a few players before the long-weekend (extended cycles) start. Also, I can't remember if Aodan using his power to save Cog that day actually cleared Cog or not, or just made it so he couldn't be voted for. If Cog actually was cleared from that, then just let me know, obviously.
  4. Eh, I don't really think that's helping your case, Thomas. You have to actually add something to the conversation. State some opinions or suspects. You don't necessarily need to cast votes left and right and divulge any information... just actually participate in the discussion.
  5. ah, yes, good point. I honestly can barely keep track of half of the mechanics at play in this game, lol. I for some reason just assumed the Lifeless were Aili's, but yeah, this makes a lot more sense. Oh, and just for Aodan's sake, is there any way to protect from an Awakened Sword? Cause we might need that coming
  6. Aili being attacked like that does not guarantee her innocence, exactly. With Jeo being by and far the most suspicious player, 'sacrificing' him like that in an attack on her could be a ploy. Now, the chances of it aren't really that great, but we don't even know exactly how many PK there are. So if they feel they still have enough numbers left to feel comfortable pulling something like that off..... just saying's it's possible.
  7. Gammer took Aili's announcement without batting a lash. She immediately funneled any reaction she might have had into the embroidery, laboring away incessantly over the fabrics. You don't see many Idrian Returned, though, she remarked to herself. Gammer had always found it odd that Idrians had never allowed their Returned to stay alive. Equating Breaths to the soul was pure foolishness. Many Drabs made it by just fine in life. One could even argue being Breathless made life easier, even. Not having people constantly bargaining for your Breath, coveting it like it was priceless, but still putting a price tag on it all the same. Gammer didn't put much stock in Breaths or awakening. Lifeless didn't even bother her that much, honestly. They actually seemed smarter than humans to her sometimes because they knew when to keep their traps shut. No. She didn't let herself be bothered much by the announcement, besides the slight aggravation of doubling back and adding an aura and more swirling colours around Aili's name. She was still going to call her that, not that Trueheart nonsense. Gammer was still her elder and would address her however she saw fit. OOC: Nothing to really add, so just expanded on Gammer's crotchety personality a little bit. She is quite the rude old lady.
  8. Gammer supports the longer day cycle over the weekend. She has to leave town to celebrate some Halledren holiday to go celebrate some Returned coming back 3 days after death, or something like that.
  9. Yeah, what Hero said. Or maybe even guess just the Class of the level item you want to steal. I've been trying to think through how all the items would interact with eachother during a game, and there will be a lot of craziness going on. Maybe make the Soulcaster a kind of role-blocker? I would say if the Ghostbloods, or anybody working together with someone else, can get a bunch of items between them, there might so some small chance of 'broken' or uber-protection then, though. But I'm not sure. But I definitely think you have a nice start to a game though. Definitely wanna see how this will work out.
  10. Gammer watched the proceedings of the lynching with grim determination. She didn't believe Dyrii's guilt any more than her own, but she still looked when they fit the rope around his neck. She was determined to capture the full story on her embroidery, and to do that, she had to perfectly catch the look in each persons eyes before they died. The eyes are mirrors into the Soul, she had heard once. With her grim resignation, Gammer continued her embroidery. A bright pool of red began to leak from Dyrii's name, spilling out over onto the group of names that had declared his guilt and spilled his blood, condemning each and every one of them. OOC: Don't really have too much to add, hence mostly the useless RP. But we should look at the group of those who switched their votes to Dyrii for our next suspects.
  11. Gammer threw down her embroidery and crossed her arms in a pout. She couldn't keep up with all of the accusations flying back and forth! Fools!, she thought, bickering amongst themselves like surly children, changing their minds like fresh linens. She was still not sure what to make of the proceedings for the lynching. She noticed the priest had voiced suspicion of Dyrii, but Gammer wasn't quite convinced. She wasn't going to condemn a man to death without him defending himself -- even if he was last heard rambling on about magical hats. Who was Gammer to scoff at such talk whilst living in a paradise of Awakened inanimate objects and revived bodies lumbering about. If somebody wanted to give the Command to their hat to 'Sort', let them. But Jeo, however. Gammer had listened to his rantings all day long, and felt something about him was off. She sighed, knowing the price that had to be paid for find out if her hunch was right or not.
  12. Gammer was stitching furiously, trying to keep up with the flying accusations. It would all be contained within the story of the tapestry. The twists, the turns. The betrayals. She was so busy with her embroidery she was only focused on it and collecting the votes to put into it, not for a moment taking time to consider who she herself suspected. She had a few opinions about a couple individuals, but she was way too busy to take the time to work them through right now. Gammer had moved her spot from the shaded bench to a rocking chair she had moved and set up next to the town gallows. It was the center of events, and Gammer wasn't going to miss a thing. OOC: There's a tie right now, so I don't really want to break it. Don't want to do the PKs job for them.
  13. Double-posting for (somewhat) new content. I put the Flaring Metal game on the back-burner for now, and worked out some of the kinks (I hope) of what I'll do when I GM. A Wheel of Time Elimination: What y'all think? I decided to take out vote altering roles to add some of that power to the people without Roles with the Dragon Fang and Mayor role. Typical win conditions apply for the Darkfriends and Villagers. Not exactly sure what, if any 'safe' roles will be besides the Wolfbrother. Maybe Thief-taker and Whitecloak too?
  14. @Bart Some of your ideas might not be so bad, but you're posting these huge strategies publicly for people to follow. So if whoever you're recommending to follow your advice does listen to you, the Pahn Kahl already know exactly what they're going to do. That defeats the purpose of trying to trick the PK and come out ahead. That's why I say your plans are only benefiting the PK right now. Now, you may have some more subtle arrangements planned in secret, expecting the Pahn Kahl to act off of what you've presented publicly, but that has a small chance of actually working, I think.
  15. Yeah, I don't know about the 'uber Aodan' plan. All it takes is one slip up for the PK to get him and get or waste all of that breath. The less power in consolidated, the better. We do not want to just hand the PK their targets, let's make them work for it. I'm honestly almost ready to vote Bart. His tactics have just been seeming extremely dangerous, to me, and if he's not Pahn Kahl, then I believe his suggestions are at least helping them out.
  16. A treaty? Gammer was amused. Here they were in the middle of the fallout from failed negotiations, being harassed by a group of unknown assailants, and what do they think of? More treaties and negotations! Just like a group of clucking hens, squawking at each other and not even noticing the butcher's cleaver, poised and ready to drop. She sighed to herself. The idea itself was pragmatic... but with this crop of people? She shook her head and just continued ignoring her business, sitting outside of the restaurants, working on her embroidery. The border of hangman's noose's were almost complete and it was almost ready to start working in towards the middle. She just had to wait for sun rise to see how the story would unfold. OOC: Despite what Gammer thinks, the treaty negotiations at the end of the game is a great idea if there's still enough of us around after the PK are dead. I hope most of us actually survive for that. I just had to maintain Gammer's grumpy RP.
  17. "Ugly stars!" exclaimed Gammer. Not in remorse but in frustration. She had been wrong about Swimm. She had thought for sure.... but no matter now. Once you've milked the cow, there was no use trying to push the cream back in the udders. She would learn from her mistake and use the information to make a better decision next time. So after looking at the body for what seemed an appropriate amount of time, she retired back to her quarters for the night. The night was going to be dark and full of terrors, but Gammer had some embroidery to catch up on. OOC: Well that blows. I really hoped Swimm was evil. Guess we'll wait and see how the night goes.
  18. Um, I really don't see why Chide had three votes thrown in on him out of nowhere. I'm going to vote Swimm to break the tie, at least. We can't afford another deadlock at this point Edit: Chide should still totally come in and voice some sort of defense, but I was just wary as to why three votes racked up against him so quickly.
  19. Well, looks like Gammer chose the wrong day to sleep in. Cut her a break, she has old, achey bones! Obviously retracting my vote for Aodan. And I don't want to cast a vote for Swimm without him at least trying to defend himself, so let's see if he logs in soon or not. But yeah, for a PK who has no role besides just being a 'goon', then it's super easy to just keep track of everything and send your orders in via the PK Doc. (But I doubt that's what Swimm is actually doing)
  20. I'm actually starting to suspect that maybe both Aodan and Cog are innocent in this one. And starting to regret my vote for Aodan. I was going to remove my vote for Aodan, but I think it's tied right now (if Aonar's list is correct) so I'm going to keep it up there for now. Both of them are making really good arguments in their defense, so I really have no idea. The Pahn Kahl are probably just sitting back and laughing at us right now, honestly.
  21. Well, just so we can at least avoid a one-sided bandwagon, I'll vote for Aodan, too. Just because Bart caught Meta in a lie does not make him automatically PK. Heck, I think I barely ever even told the truth in the thread during the last game. We all can't just pile the votes on one person, we need split votes to open up discussion to give us more information. And I totally realize if Meta does get lynched and turns out to be a Pahn Kahl, then things do not look good for me.
  22. Gammer watched the procession of Vard's mourners with indifference. She knew her cold, callused attitude would make her an eventual target. But she couldn't feign surprise or worry at the sight of the dead body. She was old and experienced. She had seen corpses before, and she reckoned she would be seeing a few more by time this was over. She was surprised by the other turn of events, though. With how many people were openly claiming to be Breathless, she figured it was only inevitable until one of them were caught in a lie. Drabs. Why were so many people fixated on the number of Breaths a person held? Gammer had spent many years of her life as both a Drab and an Awakener with vast amounts of Breath, and while she did appreciate the bonuses the Heightened Auras granted, it wasn't as vital for her to perform her tasks. Although, color recognition did help with her embroidery. It allowed her to be more subtle with the patterns and hidden clues she was hiding in the fabrics. Only one with a perfect attention to details could pick out and decipher the complex patterns used. So Gammer finished working Vard's name into the embroidery, the first of many victims to come. But now Gammer had to decide who's name would be next. She decided she would wait and hear Cog's defense before she started stitching in his name, so she instead worked on the outline of his name. Dark, burnt oranges, bleeding into his name. Regardless of if he ended up on the gallows or got away, Gammer would capture his story in her embroidery. This was just a temporary Age of the passing of Time, neither a beginning or an ending. And Gammer would record it's Patterns. Edit: OOC. I do agree with Bart, on Meta probably not being Pahn Kahl. Just sounds like he was just trying to fake them out. Which if that was the case, then Bart just kind of ruined that gambit.
  23. Ah, that actually makes sense. I approve of the order of the Stack with that reasoning. Gammer sat patiently by the window, waiting for the sun to rise. Colours! Did she love watching the morning sky. All the different colors and hues, the majestic blending of the sun and the horizon displayed in a vibrant spectrum. It almost took her mind off of the blood that was sure to plague the town soon. With the recent murders and the established mob-rule, it would only be inevitable that a body would show up in the morning. It only made sense. So Gammer sat there in her rocking chair and continued staring out over the silent town. Waiting.
  24. Awesome! I was actually going to go and meet Brian McClellan when he's in Mentor, OH a few days after this Google Hangout, so that will be cool to get any follow-up questions to him. (I know this is a Sanderson site, and so I haven't really seen or heard any Powder Mage theories on here, but if anybody wants me to ask Brian McClellan any questions just let me know and I'll get to them when I get to meet him)
  25. Gammer wasn't surprised. The whole lot of them were fools! Declaring things like that in public when they knew their enemies were listening. Even if it was all just an act, it still gives the Pahn Kahl more information than they need. Sure, Gammer had her own plans, but you didn't see her going and blabbing about it to whoever would listen. Kalad's Ghost, some people are dense! She thought to herself as she went back to minding her own business and continuing her embroidery. The starting shape was almost finished and Gammer was getting ready to start working on the finer details. All the villagers names were secretly worked into the embroidery, at least the outlines of the names were. How they would be filled in, and what colors would be used to tell their stories however, that was still to be seen. After all these years, Gammer was still surprised at how many different shades of red there existed. Edit: I think Aura Recognition should go Third last on the Stack, right before Night Kills and then Returned Orders. Because if people get the results of their Aura reading before anybody does any Awakenings or received any breath, then that basically makes Aura Recognition almost useless. It's cool to know what someone had yesterday, but won't help too much going forward. Unless Claincy purposely wanted to put it that way to troll us, which is a totally acceptable possibility. And yes, I called it 'The Stack'. Play Magic, much?
