American Kindle edition: First, there's an issue with the page numbers; the Part One title page is listed as page 1, and the end of chapter 31 is page 395. The prologue and epilogue, and everything respectively before and after them, don't have page numbers. Also, probably worth noting that for me the page with "Melaann stopped at the simple door" is listed as page 249, not 290. Prologue, location 275: I think "Waxillium tested the door, and it was unlocked of course" should have a comma before "of course". I think I found an error in one of the dates. Chapter 6, location 1564, page 74, says 8/7/342 was yesterday, so the current date is either 8/8/342 or 9/7/342 at this point depending on what order the date is written in; this is in the evening while they're on the train to New Seran. In Chapter 10 at location 2354, page 124, Wax sees "FARTHING MANSION HIT" on a broadsheet. This is the next morning, so either 8/9 (the ninth day of the eighth month) or 10/7 (the tenth day of the seventh month). But the broadsheet is the same one that appears in the book (before chapter 6; location 1555, page 72) where it is dated 8th of Cladence. I think either the broadsheet should be dated 9th or 10th, or the date in chapter 6 should be changed. Chapter 10, location 2476, page 131: I think "Wayne and I in here" should be "Wayne and me in here"? (I'm not sure what case this is in, but "Me in here" sounds better than "I in here" to me.) Chapter 13, location 3207, page 174: "having sunken a foot or so" should be "having sunk a foot or so"; "sunken" is only an adjective. Chapter 18, location 4328, page 245: Wax, from the scaffolding, notes that "There are some rooms built into the north side of the structure." But every other mention of rooms has them on the south side, e.g. at location 4177, page 236. ("Eventually, MeLaan and Marasi managed to reach the south wall, which was one of the long sides of the rectangular building. Here, rooms had been built into the structure.") It's possible there are also rooms on the north wall, but I think this might be an error since I would have expected Wax to also notice the rooms on the south wall. Chapter 22, location 5280, page 302: "that parents are from Wiestlow" should be "that my parents are from Wiestlow", unless this is intentional to indicate Allik's imperfect language skills. Chapter 28, location 6135, page 356: "a strata" should be "a stratum" Chapter 30, location 6555, page 381: "Do you deny that this airship was from nation other than your own?" should have "from a nation"

Kindle edition: Chapter 16, location 4139: "A group of men in black suits and shotguns piled out": Either the men are in both suits and shotguns (no) or it's a group consisting of men and shotguns (technically accurate, I suppose, but odd enough that I'm mentioning it here). Should it be "with shotguns"? Allomancer Jak story preceding chapter 21, location 5106 (broadsheet)/5137 (transcript): "Then I noticed over the crowd two pairs of waving arms that I immediately recognized as Handerwym's": This seems to imply that Handerwym has four arms, which I suspect is a mistake. Chapter 21, location 5225: "Wax could almost hear the muscles constricting, pulling taught beneath that skin" should have "taut" rather than "taught". Ars Arcanum, location 6029: "Tineye Mistings who burn tin increases the sensitivity of their five senses" should have "increase", since the subject is "Mistings". Also noticed the "inbreeding" error from post 8 and the missing speech tag pointed out in post 23.

Shallan didn't actually master Illumination in WoR. She still has to learn how to make sounds, for instance. Also, she apparently had used Surgebinding when she was younger. Kaladin did learn really quickly.

Where does this idea of each Herald having a country come from? I kind of like it, but I've never seen it before. Anyway, if we go by the Silver Kingdoms, Kharbranth would have been in Thalath.
-
I'm not caught up on WoB, but here's a question I'd like to know the answer to: What do they say about Rall Elorim?
-
Amaram has "light tan" eyes (WoK Chapter 44), and Kaladin notes in WoR Chapter 77 that Moash's eyes are the same color. Redin: one "intense blue", one "dark brown" (WoR Chapter 39)

WoR Timeline (I Used Search function, I Swear)
Zizoz replied to hubrisnxs's topic in Stormlight Archive
Chapter 2 of WoR, about the Bridge Four tattoos: Then in the illustration on page 83 the tattoos are noted to say year 1173. Also, it is not clear from your post if you noticed it is Navani writing the journals... There's a WoR timeline here if that's what you're looking for. Not sure why search wouldn't have found it though. -
Well, obviously theories can't spoil a book in the sense of telling you what's going to happen, because they're not proven. And I personally find it really enjoyable when a theory I have turns out to be correct. Sure, I don't get an out-of-nowhere twist, but I get the vindication of being right, and prior to that I get to enjoy the anticipation of the reveal, and pick up on all the foreshadowing. On the other hand, if a theory I don't care for is proven correct, it's possible that that's worse than not knowing the theory. An example of the latter occurred in A Dance with Dragons. Spoilers for that book follow.

The Chapter 88 epigraphs appear to be highstorm dates, which lets us place the previous highstorm (WoK Chapter 75/WoR Chapter 2).
-
My copy has "Kaladin longlegs", which I think is the intended wording.

I have a list of the Herald icons, so I can help with that. I note that for The Way of Kings they are listed along with the chapter symbols at http://coppermind.net/wiki/The_Way_of_Kings/Headings. I also have the page numbers in the US hardcover for each chapter of WoR, which I think is useful information. How can I best make this information available?
-
Possibly. One thing to keep in mind though is that they're not actually speaking English. It's possible that the actual error being committed is not the one we see. I've considered that perhaps Alethi has grammatical gender while the Horneater language doesn't, resulting in Rock choosing the masculine pronoun too often. I don't recall him using "she" in place of "it" off the top of my head, but I could easily be forgetting stuff. Anyone know if this happens? Also, how is this translated into other languages?
-
Indeed, it's probably just a result of Rock being a nonnative Alethi speaker. Shallan also calls objects "he" when she's pretending to be a Horneater.

Chapter 16, top of page 234: "It had been seven days since Amaram's arrival in the warcamps." That places Chapter 12, when Amaram arrives, on Tanatakev.
-
Well, it's still slightly weird to realize that any time the word "second" was used it must have actually meant 1.4 seconds. But I recall now that units have not always had their current standard definitions, so there's real-world precedent. For instance, the length of an hour used to vary with the length of the day. It does seem that "seconds" have always been essentially the same length (although they're now defined based on radiation of cesium-133, since days are slowly lengthening so "1/86400 of a day" isn't precise enough.)
-
I was just thinking about this... Does this mean that a Rosharan second is .02 Rosharan minutes, or about 1.4 Earth seconds? Also, why use "minutes" and "seconds" in that case? Seems needlessly confusing.

I suspect Taln is still bonded to his Honorblade. As far as I know you can't force someone to unbond a blade. And it would mean that Hoid didn't technically switch the blades, if he only provided a decoy blade and didn't take Taln's. The gravitation surge, which Nalan's blade provides, could be used to move more quickly than normal.

We haven't met any two spren whose knights are of the same order, so we can't say how alike they ought to look. The "light" comment is decent evidence, though. And I'll admit that trying to guess orders from herald icons is far from perfect. (For instance, none of Dalinar's chapters in TWoK have the Ishi icon, even though we think that's his order. It does appear pretty often on his WoR chapters, though.)
-
Ym could also be an Edgedancer. It seems likely, even, given the herald icons for his chapter (all Vev).
-
Without actual future-seeing abilities it would be really hard to predict individual Radiants. We know Taravangian finds them by looking for people who survive when they shouldn't, though, hence how he could guess at Kaladin.
-
Fixed those. No idea how I managed to get those chapter numbers wrong. The storm on Ishanah, when Eshonai takes stormform, was after nightfall (according to Chapter 31). After thinking about it I now agree that having held stormform for fifteen days is best interpreted as indicating a time between night on Ishahah and night on Ishashes, thus making Taravangian's list correct.
-
Do we have confirmation that the Ch 88 epigraph is a list of highstorm dates? I thought that would be too obvious for the Diagram to not have figured out, and it didn't fit with my calculation of the penultimate highstorm from Eshonai's chapters, so I'd dismissed it. I'll look at this and see if there's anything else I can add. I took notes on the timeline while reading starting with about page 300. But I'm getting the impression you've got that pretty much covered already. EDIT: List of changes Moved Chapter 28 (Shallan meeting Kaladin) to the same day as Chapter 30, per Chapter 36, page 426: "She'd almost forgotten the encounter two days outside the warcamps." I think Chapter 59 should be Ishahan, but I suppose it's unclear if it means the third full day. Leaving it as is for now. Probably won't matter. Added Chapter 60 to Ishashes, since Pattern mentions it is Jesel (p. 734) and Adolin imprisoned himself "last week" (p. 735) The Wind's Pleasure is "a week overdue" in Chapter 14 (p. 221). That probably puts Chapter 26 about a week later. I've put it on Isheses, six days after Ch 14, since the highstorm is "recent". If it had been the previous day I think it would have said so. More comments: I-12 is mostly set two days before riots break out in Kholinar, news of which reaches Dalinar on Ishishach (chapter 87, page 1050). I'd therefore guess Ishishes-Ishishan for that chapter but it could be earlier. I haven't added it. Chapter 82, page 992: "Dalinar remembered fighting like that himself two months ago, surrounded by a sea of enemies, without hope for salvation." I thought this referred to the Tower battle but obviously that wasn't two months ago. Is there another scene in WoK it could refer to? Or is it before that?

That's a mistake, and has been mentioned in the typos thread already.
