  1. I know with the internet being the crazy place that it is that a lot of people probably don't want to provide an exact location, I definetly get that. BUT.... I was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting local reading and/or rpg groups? I find I don't run across as many worldhoppers in my neck of the woods (at least that I know of!) and was thinking it might be fun if we had some groups separated by country/state/locality, whatever is appropriate for the area so that we might meet in person and share our love of the Cosmere. For me personally, I'd love to try the Cosmere RPG, but I've never played a table top RPG and would like to learn. I just don't know anyone around my admittedly rural area.
  2. Friend of mine suggested an old song we used to listen to alot back in the day. Figured I'd share! Every Time I Die - The New Black I'm usually a little more hard core, been a metalhead since the transition from hair bands to grunge, think Metallica Black album timing. Been a big fan of Slipknow and Lamb of God over the years. I've probably seen Slipknot live about 5 or 6 times. BUT, I've lately also been listening to metal covers of pop songs and have really been having fun with it. Halocene, Frog Leap Studios being the top of the list. Just something different for a change.
  3. Ooooh, I like those! Definitely didn't think of Vin and Lift! I just got done with listen-through #2 of Warbreaker, it really would be cool to see Vasher and Ishar talk, I think it would be enlightening for us all! Sazed and Yasnah, too, that would be an epic, but respectful battle!
  4. We're in about the same position reading-wise in the Cosmere, I also need Tress of the Emerald Sea to be complete, just waiting on my library to get a copy. (I'll buy one eventually, but money's tight) That being said, I've been asking everyone, if you could bring any two characters together from any of the books, who would they be? No limitations in time/space/Investiture, Super Smash Bros style. My example is Wayne and The Lopen. Those two together would be hilarious!
  5. I'd love to see Wayne and The Lopen together! I was just posting about that on someone else's introduction. If you could have a story with any two Cosmere characters, ignoring time/space/all that nonsense, Super Smash Bros style, who would they be?
  6. What character duos would you like to see in some unlimited universe where anything was possible? I was listening to Dawnshard over the weekend, and I thought about how much fun it would be to see Wayne and The Lopen together for example. There's several others I've thought about, too, but I'll let someone else answer!
  7. Bricks are beautiful! Here's some pretty bricks with garnish!
  8. I think I'm ready. I've talked with Zo'rah, and she agrees. In order to be able to help others, I first need to help myself. It's the reason I found this forum to begin with, my first post was in the mental health forum. I want to be able to give back as well. So my first words as a Truthrunner are these: I will seek my personal Truth so that I may help others.
  9. Lol, I just searched for brick damage and images, and that popped up. And Hi! yeah, I just signed up a couple of days ago. Nice to meet you!
  10. Sure thing! Sorry, I'm honestly just enjoying my time here and got a little excited when I thought about this. Thanks!
  11. Ok, I need to go back and re-listen to that scene, apparently! Lol. I really appreciate the detailed explanation of all of that, those mechanics make more sense to me now. I figured I hadn't been the first to ask that! But a showdown with Kaladin and Moash in their current forms is something I'm looking forward to anyway.
  12. I've been thinking about Kaladin as a Herald a lot recently. I know Moash has what would be his Honorblade. I'm really curious what is going to happen, since none of the original Heralds were bonded with spren on their own and drew thier powers from their blades. Kaladin obviously doesn't need a blade, as long as his Heraldic ascension doesn't affect his bond with Syl. BUT, what if he fights Moash and reclaims his blade? We know that the blade has been corrupted in Moash's hands, so it would need to be cleansed somehow. But if that were possible, and Kaladin held the blade, in addition to his powers while bonded with Syl, would that make him stronger in those surges? For that matter, what would happen if he held a different blade? Would he have those surges in addition to his current ones? I can't remember anything like tha being brought up, but I may have missed it somehow. Sorry if someone has brought this up before, I didn't see anything like it in my admittedly quick search.
  13. I think this would be a really cool idea. And maybe if she were bonded to a strong-willed Horneater like I imagine them to be, it would be a similar situation to Dalinar and the Stormfather, a relationship that both learned and grew from. The Nightwatcher seemed almost child like when around Cultivation, so maybe she just needs more experience in the world of men.
  14. I struggle with writing things down, too. Even bought a CBT workbook specifically so I would have some kind of focus to help, but I have a hard time wanting to actually do it. My therapist tries to help by sending reminders, but it’s so easy to find something else to do. To be honest, that’s a lot of the reason I’m here. I was looking for places to go where I might be better understood, and thought that maybe being able to use the trials of the characters to help me explain how I’m feeling.
  15. Oh cool! I don’t mind to do things a little differently. I’ve been approached by a mist spren named Zo’rah. She’s spent her life serving with honorspren on ships in Shadesmar, and some of them has rubbed off on her, making her just a little different from the regular mist spren. After talking with her, I’ve decided to bond with her and see where this goes.
  16. I find myself wondering as I think about my radiant journey. Many of my personal ideals coincide with both the Truthwatchers and Windrunners, and the words coming to me seem to feel like a combination of the two. I would like to seek truth, but also potentially use that truth to help others. Are there any Truthrunners out there?
  17. Oh, that’s fun! And challenging to limit it to 6. Let’s see, Adolin Kholin for sure, seems like he’d be fun, and he could bring Shallan and Pattern. Rock is a must if nothing else for the food, Allik for deserts. Wayne from Mistborn would have to be a blast (pun intended). Hoid for entertainment, and finally Kaladin now that he’s better and he comes with Syl as a plus one. I know I cheated a little there with the plus ones, but I wouldn’t want to offend!
  18. Apologies, I didn’t mean that to sound like a complaint. It just came up a lot, like they were using it to swear with mostly. It just seemed like I heard the word sixteen and seventeen a lot more in that book in particular. I really just kind of meant it as a silly connection that I saw is all.
  19. Era one, I’m gonna say Captain Demoux. I don’t have much faith in anything myself, so I admire that he never lost his. Era 2, I’m gonna say Allik, because everything is better with sweets.
  20. Gotta say, I’ve really thought about this one. There’s so many that I like. But it think I’m going to go with Leyten. I like the way he fits in with bridge four, working with the armor and gear. I can see myself doing something by like that. I do love my gadgets.
  21. Recently listened to the Lost Metal for the first time, and it feels like Brandon really kinda went nuts with the whole 16/17 thing. It’s mentioned so many times there that it brought something else up for me. I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s played No Man’s Sky and felt like they mention 16 just as much. Maybe the creators of the game are fans, or maybe, just maybe, the game is the far, far future of the Cosmere, and in that, just a simulation?
  22. I realized that when I said it, I've seen some people say they didn't like it as much as the others. I wasn't thrilled with the cliffhanger ending with everyone separated across the realms, but the character development is what really drew me in. Kaladin like I said, but also Renarin to some extent. I'm pretty socially awkward myself, so I really related to his shyness and anxiety. I feel like both of them really overcame a lot of their personal obstacles in this book, and that's helped me with my personal journey.
