Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Ookla the Newt replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That is my evidence of my being discussed. And pinged. If you want to argue me as being elim, then fine, argue me as being elim. But argue me as being elim based on stuff I've said, or on my votes, not on the fact that I'm new, this is literally my first game, I barely know how this game works, have habits of backreading instead of responding bc I've lurked on the forums for about a year and a half, and have been on a road trip typing things in a moving car. I promise you - my showing up just then was a coincidence. People have mentioned me all day. Also that was just a sample, I didn't put all of them. Since not putting every instance of my name is apparently an indication of guilt, here are some more. If I was going to show up when I was being indicated, wouldn't I do that when I was first being indicated instead of an hour later? -

Ookla the Newt replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
OKAY. Ppl have been suspecting me all day, and I was being discussed all day, so that was a complete coincidence. I didn't show up then to "hedge and be unclear" did I? I've been "choosing not to interact" bc I barely have any idea how this works. Also, I will freely admit trying to get to today - I've known since Monday I'll be free this afternoon, and wanted to be able to actually get to today when I can actually analyse stuff. My "read[ing] up" is a brief skim over comments. I'm sorry if this seems aggressive, just... yeah. -
Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Ookla the Newt replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I've mainly been concerned with getting to the next day bc I've been on a road trip, and the rest of today's the first time I've been able to actually sit down and look through stuff throughly and actually analyse phrasing and such. Other times I've been online in a car, or near midnight in a hotel room, or right after waking up while the rest of my family's been getting ready. Because I was on a hike bc mandatory family time. Same with most of yesterday. If you want to vote me bc of that, that's a decision. I voted HoidSlayer half as a tossup, because I was placed in a tricky position, with very little time to do analysis. So I mainly just went by vibes, and was worried that I was viewing Penguin too negatively based solely on his comments in very early C2. I decided if he actually was elim he wouldn't have been making waves that much, so voted HoidSlayer. That was my rational, like it or not. -
I can code HTML/CSS/JS, Python, and Java. I've been coding for a while, but minimal game dev experience.

Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Ookla the Newt replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Okay, I feel REALLY guilty after what he just said, but... Hoid Slayer. Sorry, but it A) proves both Penguin and him, and (B) he's still suspect after last night. Might rethink this, but I have to help unpack stuff rn, so I'll check back in like 15 minutes Edit: Yeah, I still feel that way. I know he's tried explaining his decision last night, and I'm sorry if it really was a genuine random move, but for now he's my best bet. -

Ookla the Newt replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Sorry! I'm on a family road trip, and was on a hike literally all day. Also I'm typing this in a car with a veryyyy loud little brother in the seat next to me, so my analysis may not be the best, since I'm tired, nauseous, and have a little brother fake "shooting" me. (I'm not busy at all tomorrow starting 2 pm EST though, so I'll be very active then, and will actually have good analysis) Andddd looks like I'm the tiebreaker... Okay, this'll be interesting bc I am barely capable of analysis rn. Give me like 3 minutes -

Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Ookla the Newt replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Prob the following (hopefully these work quotes have NOT been cooperative with me): First is kinda neutral-sounding, but sounds like its trying to be neutral sounding, but then again it sounds like something I'd say, so I might be reading too much into this, and second is prob intro-rp in retrospect, so I take back the negative lean as I type this out. -

Okay, thanks! (also yeah I'm starting to see the layers on layers bit...) Current Leanings No particular opinions on: Aeternum, Kaladfin / TwinStorm, Doc12 / Javert, KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren, Striker, Kelsier Apologist (I know I'm veryyy neutral on a lot of people) Hoid Slayer: Mentioned that he's worried elims might target him, which might be something similar to something I've seen before in a mafia game where a kid convinced the doctor to always protect him bc he was the "detective" (he was the mafia) or maybe I'm just reading too deeply into that comment. Penguin: Not really suspicious of him anymore, he was like 50% a "I have no idea what I'm doing lemme go with a vague hunch" vote. Kinda acting weird during this Cycle, though. Very vehement he's not an Evildoer Askthepizzaguy: I honestly think PizzaGuy's town. If he was mafia (or whatever term is being used *checks rules* Evildoers) he wouldn't be standing out this much. I can understand not knowing who to vote for - I half randomly picked based on a hunch. CoderDrag0n8: Maybe pushing innocence a little too hard, but might be bc he's new, and doesn't know exactly how this works, so I'll give him a pass for now. -

Well, that's helpful to know actually. I've been going by mafia experience... -
I'm pretty sure that balefire doesn't remove your thread from the pattern, just burns it back a few seconds/minutes/hours depending on strength. At least that's my understanding of it. As to the kill someone with balefire, then be killed by balefire, I found some quotes from Jordan that say that the person you killed would come back to life. Brisbane Signing Report - Joel Gilmore: Wheel of Time Interview Search: Theoryland of the Wheel of Time (Robert Jordan) (#2) and Brisbane Signing Report - Willum: Wheel of Time Interview Search: Theoryland of the Wheel of Time (Robert Jordan) (also #2).

I've tried to memorize pi, but somehow I memorized it as 3.14159265342876, and I can't unmemorize the wrong version.

Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Ookla the Newt replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ooooops, I'm rly sry, I didn't realize that ppl posted this much during SE and hadn't checked the shard until like 5 minutes ago. Also I kinda have no idea what I'm doing. (I read the rules and understand them, just still figuring out the rhythm of an actual game) From playing Mafia, I kinda think IcedOutPenguin is jumping on the bandwagon a lot, which usually indicates trying to seem non-guilty, so that's my vote. Edit: Also I sent this before reading what Pizzaguy said (I was scared clicking show new message would delete my message if I hadn't sent it). Why do you think I'm more criminal leaning? -
REBIRTHS/RESSURECTION/REVIVALS (OB)

Words of Radiance has a lottt of fakeout deaths, but I think they trickle off after that (there are some more resurrections, but no more fakeouts I can think of) -

This is... about a year later but I'm in CAP, and it consumes WAY too much of my life. (I actually saw this thread about a year and a half ago when I first started lurking and almost made an account to respond to it, odd to come back to it actually having an account) (I'm really really sorry if this was necro-ing, I checked and didn't find a specific time frame, so I think it's fine, but not finding smth is prob my own lack of search abilities) -

Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Ookla the Newt replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
All right, will do. Ooooh, cool. I have played mafia (a lot, actually). Best game I've played was when the first mafia convinced us all that he was the detective so there were like 2 other people left out of 15 original when he was voted out (the detective didn't say she was the detective for some unknown reason). I also may or may not have quoted epigraphs from stormlight while I was "being a ghost" during another game that week. (we had a rule that if you were dead, you could walk around and whisper in people's ears and stuff at "night", as long as you didn't say anything game relevant)- 392 replies

- Either Windrunners bc flying and also protecting people, or Truthwatcher bc that's what I would guess I'd get on the quiz (5 minutes later post-quiz) Actually I got Windrunner, which surprised me a bit, but makes sense bc I'm a veryyy protective oldest sister. - I did choir in 3rd and 4th grade, and still do "flash mob" choir (aka anyone can go up regardless of skill) occasionally on sundays, but I don't really do either regularly. - Soooo yeah this is a story. I tried to join the DnD club at my school this year, but then my parents got worried about my grades the same time meetings started happening, so I was in the chat all year but never actually got to go to a meeting. So interested in it, but never actually done it. Either Roshar or Lumar. For admittedly similar reasons - they both seem so different from Earth. Also maybe going on my own (maybe spoilers for tWoK? But just an interlude) and trying to hunt down as many spren as I can. Or messing around with all the different kinds of spores and seeing what cool stuff you can do with them. But Scadrial (post-Catacandre, bc even if I'm safe, I really don't want to have nightmares and be traumatized and see awful stuff happen) if Era 2 characters are around. Probably Sazed, Hoid, Adolin, Steris, Kelsier, and Navani. (I would want to invite a lotttt more characters, these are not necessarily my favorites. Reasons vary.)

I'll take a look at it! (I assume it's the link in your signature?) He grated a bit on me occasionally, but overall he's a great character. Most of the time really means "nearly all the time, except for two or three sentences."
