What world is this, then?” Ralorin processed further, and realized something. Right before he cut himself off. “Your what exactly?” He said sharply, adding weight to his second word, calculated. If this man was with Tormentor affiliated, he may have to run before they sold him out. After all, he thought, eyes scanning for the nearest escape if he was forced to flee, Tormentors were hardly local to Relth. Many a world had already fallen to the Roaming Packs and their creatures. If need be, he wouldn’t hesitate to see more than just that cut off from the man. Then again, perhaps it would be best to hear him out first. He was in no shape to fight, both from wounds and lack of gear.

    Ralorin looked at the man, still tired from the fight. Well, maybe fight wasn’t such a good word considering how poor of one he put up against such a powerful foe. “A Tormentor. Other two of us are dead. I should be too, honestly. Came here to die fighting instead of being run down. Where am I? Can’t be where I just was. Trees here aren’t dead, and the sun is up. And above all there don’t seem to be Tormentors here. Seems like quite a few steps up from Relth if you ask me.”

    Ralorin ran. He ran through the night with everything he had left. The beast that had slain two of his comrades followed, close behind. Armor rent and shield disfigured, he had no choice but to run, shattered sword useless in hand. He stumbled, wounded side slowing him, and the creature closed the gap by a few feet, swiping its nearest leg at him. He glanced ahead and spotted a clearing up ahead. There he would make his last stand. Better to die in glory than die running like a coward. Then he entered the clearing, and the night faded away. Where was he? He turned to face the beast, but found that it had vanished. He took stock of the situation. It seemed… peaceful almost. Perhaps he could treat his wounds here, and perhaps find a way to end the terror plaguing his people.
