MR74: The Politics of Gods
BigBadBagsworth replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
There are a couple possibilities that I can see for Elim teams. Team the first: The analysts Aman, Araris, and Hoid. One of them always seems to start the Village exeing train each cycle. And they never vote on each other. Didn’t Aman say something back on page three about how proper distancing being about throwing minor Sus someone’s way but never actually placing your vote on them? And how Araris knew that too? For it: It would explain a lot of interactions, and why only villagers have been voted out so far. These are, like, the three most experienced people here. When’s the last time in this game we’ve seen them seriously disagree on who to exe? But they haven’t voted out an Elim to this point. Against it: What are chances the three most experienced players would all be elims? @A Jo in the Bush Were the elims chosen at random? Team the second: the inactives. This game has the feel of one where the elims sit back and whatch the village bicker among itself until they can finish it off. That’s usually not possible, but this game has an unusually large number of people who only occasionally post (and I, unfortunately, am one of them. Damn you, phone-confiscating school!). This group would be much harder to successfully sus out. It could include a combination of TOW (though I have a moderate V! Read of them after their last post), Iced, K-sauce, Polly, and possibly Coder. Also any others I’m forgetting because they haven’t been around. For it: It would explain the unusually high number of inactives this game; they’ve agreed to be inactive so there wouldn’t be any evidence against them to turn into a train. Against it: It just feels wrong. Someone smarter than me would probably be able to find a big problem in it. (Though if this one’s false, then the Analysts are likely to be Elims, and they surely won’t disabuse me of my notion if they are.) Now I know there’s a big train against me, so I’ll disprove it in the most reliable way possible: Flipping myself! *pulls out Hemalurgic spike and points it toward chest* BBB -

Sorry! I my stupid, stupid school is giving out homework on the first two days, and my commute is long I’ll only be able to be on in fits and starts. Reading through four pages of happenings now. -

Sorry! I just don’t know what to say that will add constructively to the discussion. I guess… I am thinking of a Cosmere character. first hint: He has met Hoid. -

V! Ararais V! Coder E! Hoid Slayer (see above) Don’t have a read on K-Sause or TOW Amaneuensis’s interactions feel village, but their actions, especially if Twin ends up as Elim, feel more Elim. I think that’s everyone. It’s not that I don’t have reads, it’s that I don’t have E! Reads that would still be valid after a E! Twin flip. -

Just as a note, my school doesn’t allow easy use of phones at all during the school day, so expect me to be on infrequently. I’d be hard-pressed for an awnser. Mabye Hoid Slayer? But that’d be partially contradicted by the Twin flip. Really don’t know. I’d probably try to get the people who haven’t been on as much to talk more, and wait for my brain to give me another e! read. -
MR74: The Politics of Gods
BigBadBagsworth replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
My only read was, and still is, e! Twin, so… TwinStorm Another possibility. Not saying that this happened, or even that it probably happened, but just to consider that it happened. Twin may have posted this as “proof” that he’s Village, but overdid it. -
MR74: The Politics of Gods
BigBadBagsworth replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
A large possibility: A train was started on Twin, and a rival train was started on TUH to save Twin. No reason was given for the execution on TUH besides, and I quote “sus vibes” and poke attempts. I’m Sus of anyone who voted TUH, especially @Hoid Slayer and @Amanuensis. I think there was someone who voted and unvoted Twin; this to me feels like trying to distance and then realizing you could actually c1 exe your fellow elim. -
MR74: The Politics of Gods
BigBadBagsworth replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Elims want to kill folks. Villagers want to figure out everyone’s roles, then start killing folks, specifically elims. If you’re poking, you’re trying to figure out roles not get people exed. And by your own words, you were poking. It’s not the exe that matters, it’s the threat of exe, and how the target responds. -
MR74: The Politics of Gods
BigBadBagsworth replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
My explination: Polly literally hadn’t posted, so I thought someone voting her was super sus. Araris and Twin both seemed to me to be trying to start trains without evidence. I now understand that, at least for araris’s vote, this is a strategy called “poking”, stupid accusations no one is supposed to take seriously, but that get reactions that can be used to make reads. I stand by my Twin vote tho. Poking only makes sense if there’s zero votes on someone; if someone’s already voted them, the reward of a second, less valuable reaction is outweighed by the risk of getting your target exed. Twin didn’t give a reason at all. I believe I would’ve voted him even if @Hoid Slayer hadn’t brought the matter to my attention. @CoderDrag0n8 -

BigBadBagsworth replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
IDK. I’m new to this, (this is my third game), I agree with Hoid Slayer’s reasoning, and I want my vote to count. Do you mean to say that, when you’re convinced someone is an elim, you shouldn’t vote for them? He isn’t even facing that much pressure; unless I’ve miscounted, he’s now tied with Polly at three. Maybe you’re his teammate and trying to get pressure off of him, IDK. You also just jumped on a train against someone who’s only wrongdoing was “sus vibes”. I have to draw the line of how much I let my decisions get influenced by others somewhere. -

(Sorry I’m late! I despise time zones) Iggdraz had been around a while. A long while. His mind was beginning to fail him. He knew this, and accepted it even as he hated it. He was still ashamed of the day he’d went about out of his wits, thinking he was a god in himself. He clung to his idealism; civilization and life depended on working together, truth, and determination to improve. He didn’t quite trust Ekkar. To call out a fellow priest for death, for no stated reason? Idiocy. Idiocy… or cunning. The more accusations flying around, the harder it is to spot the logical ones, tho ones with proof. War, while disturbingly logical, was an action that went against the compassion of the Hallandren people. Yet some were pushing for it anyway. He oppose them, do his best to stop them. He was an idiot, a fool… He was the best they had. -
I’d never seen it that way before. Well, it doesn’t influence my argument. Why does putting a metal in your body put it in your soul? At the very least, it lets you burn it because of some sort of connection, which could be mimicked with Zinc. It’s already established that if enough people think of two things as connected, the things become connected. Well, F-Zinc doesn’t make you more logical, it makes you think faster. If you tried to solve two math problems of the same difficulty, you’d make the same number of mistakes with zinc as without, you’d just finish faster. Bands of Mourning spoilers: Zinc would make it easier to make a connection by thinking about it, because you think about it more in the same timeframe. It now occurs to me that Connecter ferrings would have a connection to all metals of the metallic arts (because both ferrying and metal are saturated with preservation’s investiture) and MIGHT be able to apply it to other metals to basically become a full feruchemist And/or Mistborn.
