Starseeker could feel the changes in Ebon's voice with his Perfect Pitch. Something felt... off, he thought, though he didn't say anything. He knew very little of Roshar.- 231 replies

The night system doesn't actually work anymore In the book, 3BP, an alien civ that lives in the Alpha Centauri system, a system with 3 stars, divides their calender in Chaotic Eras and Stable Eras. Changes cannot be predicted, due to Chaos theory. Stable Eras are periods of time when there is mild temperature since the planet is only close to one star; they can last anywhere between days and centuries, again, unpredictable. Chaotic Eras are when the planet is close to no stars, two stars, or three stars. The first means that the planet freezes, and the others mean that the surface of the planet melts. Again, nothing is predictable. The aliens only survived because they can 'dehydrate', expel all water from their bodies and lay dormant for a really long time. Sometimes they remain frozen for millennia at a time. My steps for generating planets: 1) Randomly generate (with random.org) how many planets of each type (big gas giants, ice giant-types, terrestrial). There are 2 big gas giants and 3 ice giants, I haven't rolled for terrestrials. 2) Roll randomly the mass of the planets (e.g. 0.2 to 13 Jupiters for big gas giants) 3) Use the 20 orbits that Worldsmith provided me, and pick one at random for the gas giant's orbit Where the asteroid belt and Kuiper belt will be is going to be determined by where the gas giants are. I could write a program for this... yeah I'll do that, but not now.

Good suggestions! I need to roll for those. There is a lot to roll for. But first - since this is the 3-Body Problem, do we want a chaotic system, or Shard-enforced stability?

Starseeker, New Hallandren, The Crater Voidlight? Starseeker had not heard anything about this. "I am Nalthian," he said. "Oh," Starseeker said. "Alright. But - I thought they hadn't been seen in thousands of years?"- 231 replies

You need Steam and you have to buy it If they all dissipate when it is day though, there'll be none left when it's night again. I say they go dormant instead Also I just realised that this is the 3 Body Problem. That means all the orbit stuff I calculated is thrown out the window, because this is an unstable star system. Planets get thrown around between different stars and stuff. No orbits are stable. Unless whatever Shard is here forces the system to not be chaotic and manually exerts force on all the stars and planets to keep them in line.

Starseeker, New Hallendren, Crater Starseeker did not know what to do. He didn't know much about Voidbringers, but colours did this one look frightening. His voice was rather rhythmic. Starseeker certainly hadn't been told about that. Voidbringers supposedly hadn't been around for 4000 years on Roshar, and Rosharan years were long. He drew in some more Stormlight and waited for the two other Rosharans to say something.- 231 replies

I shall add. Hot Jupiters are pretty common in other star systems. I haven't rolled for terrestrial planets yet. The reason nights are short is because there are 3 stars to generate light, so it's only night if none of the 3 stars are up. Though I guess the K-Type stars won't make much light from so far away... Uhh nope. This is what I have: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sKERwLNqbsQwJuUbywz183ubtYKA7jdoDYnIPrIW5F4/edit?usp=sharing The Worldsmith 8.0, by YouTuber Artifexian. For actual simulations, someone has to install Universe Sandbox 3 or something, and I can't do that.

Yes. That is a good idea. Not for us, because life won't get the chance to evolve naturally here, since Shards will be creating their own life. Fixed. I don't know if there's limit. I'm going to add Chemistry

Good idea! Maybe the Investiture reacts to the light. No map yet, but we can make one later once the entire system is planned out The G-type star has a mass of 0.94 Suns and is 246 million years old, so really young. If I pull up the Worldsmith, it gives us everything we need to know Our first gas giant has a mass of 6.6 Jupiters and has a semi-major axis of 40.98 AU. Of course! I want to learn it! Good idea. I shall also add Cosmology.

FCRRP is an RP I run, the Full Cosmere Restarted RP Yes trinary is 3 stars. G-type is sun-like, and K-type are orange dwarves, slightly smaller than the sun. All the stars are really far away from each other, far enough that planets won't be stolen. The G-type star has... 5 gas giants, wow. We're meant to be conlanging, and this has already devolved into astronomy
