  2. thank you!!!! that's exactly what I meant. Also, the gaps are more unique in a way I can't really convey without description, as each Shard and unmade and such has its own ways to use Investiture. there is just a lot of stuff that I think could be added and anybody's help would be welcome. sorry I didn't respond, I have school... what Argenti said was basically it
  3. This is a thing that I've been thinking about for a while and finally had somewhat of a "eureka" moment about. So, in the Cosmere, we have seen and heard that the Shards have "infinite Investiture" but they don't have the capacity to use it. Now, this might be either obvious or really stupid, but I think that this is a good visualization of the reason that different entities have the amount of Investiture they do and why they can or cannot use said Investiture. If someone smarter than me could tell me if i'm right or wrong and maybe expand upon this that would be AWESOME. Thing.pdf
  4. either! list one! I like the "El is Elend" theory, or "Shallan is a kandra"
  5. What's wrong with Shalladin??? (SHALLADIN FOR LIFE KAL IS SECRETLY THE FATHER) 'Allo, mate! What is your fav Wayne quote? What is your favorite crackpot cosmere theory THE PROFANITY!
  6. and he's posted once
  7. @oragne if they actually cared this is great. troll every topic you can.
  8. yeah A fragile rectangle, its surface muted and edges curling, preserves a frozen echo of shapes now barely recognizable. Faded tones of once-bright pigment intermingle, leaving a whisper of moments that cannot fully be reconstructed. book? cards?
  9. Golden, viscous, and slowly shifting, this sticky amber substance glimmers through its translucent prison. Tiny trapped spheres float within, catching the light like miniature orbs, while a ridged metallic barrier seals the contents with stubborn finality.
  10. hmmm... what's this from, Coder? Higher Beings, these words are for you alone: Idk if this is the right place but Horton (from Horton Hears a Who) is literally Dalinar Also, If you've seen Seusical the Musical, the narrator (cat in the hat) is a perfect parrallel for Hoid (he pops in and out, takes on a bunch of different roles, knows everybody) also, something more fitting:
  11. WorldCon Ghostbloods reading discussion (spoilers!) It was already talked about a bit over here, but I think Hoid would be cool @TacoBellChoutaMeal
  12. Understatement of the century Indie animation is pretty cool, lotsa good studios, but I wouldn't say I'm reaaaaly into it... TPBM has children in their basement
  13. Thanks! I like the idea of it being a physical trait... it'd be fun to have palm readers who read babies's hands and determine their powers.
  14. nice! I have this system where these people live underground (loosely cosmere fanfic) and around these roots of these giant trees, and they use slivers of root from these Invested trees to grant the surges, they like cu themselves and then insert the sliver into the cut. which surge they can use is based off of what their parents had, but everyone has at least a 50 50 chance to get one surge. the dirt is invested and laces with this magic mycelium which is how the treew communicate like irl. The reason they live underground is that a while ago (like 2-400 years ago), Nomad Skipped and started drawing power from the invested dirt, but that triggered a response from the trees and they sent out some sort of Invested entity. Also, due to just the ambient Investiture and eating fungi and stuff that grow in invested soil, the people are kinda invested (perfect pitch, they have better color perception, but not as good as nalthians). The groves of trees on the continent are each associated with one surge, and if a person is born with the ability to use one or more surges they need to go to the corresponding Grove when they come of age and get the slivers inserted into them. Idk how they know at birth, I was thinking maybe like dice of some sort or cards that are made of the tree or something, as long as it takes advantage of Fortune. They make their cities by digging and throwing excess dirt out of a hole through Gravitation Comments and ideas would be helpful!

  18. He's not fully omnipotent, is he? (Its been at least 3 years since I read the silmarillion so excuse me if I'm wrong)
  19. Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. One of the main focuses of Mistborn and the beginning of the cosmere was to NOT go along with the fantasy trope of just "beating the big bad" and "happily ever after." WoBs: Hope that helps.
  20. What about Iluvatar? or another god?
