You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Wyrmhero replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you use the phrase 'Storing my Zincmind' in order to explain away some daft or silly thing that you've done without thinking. -
Correction, Awesomeness never arrives on its own, but must be summoned. Also, welcome. Are you new to the idea of the Cosmere, or have you had a look around already?

I quite like the idea of Hemalurgy for a game, personally speaking, but the Shard one looks interesting (and very complex ) 4/4 is meant to be their starting attack and defence. The players are given roles randomly.

The Alethi War of Unification Good news, you managed to get a job in the finest army this nation has seen or will ever see, under the just Galivar and his powerful brother Dalinar! Fight for the unity of all Alethkar! Fight for glory! Fight for riches! Fight for Shardblades! ...But it's not that simple. It never is. Hidden in within your army are spies and saboteurs – And not just from one Brightlord's army either! All you know is that the spies have been sent into your army in pairs to ensure secrecy, and that they're from several different armies. Even worse, you've not fought with most of the people around you before, and rare is the soldier who can vouch for someone else here. You don't even know what their job is around the camp, though you can probably guess in some cases. It will take careful thought and cooperation to find the ones that might be secretly planning your deaths... The General Rules Each player is a member of The Blackthorn's army, and has their own position in the camp. Each cycle, four things things happen. The players are notified of this cycle's Event at the start of the day. The Blackthorn calls together his most trusted people and asks who they believe is a Spy. That player is placed at the vanguard of the next battle to prove their valour, and will almost certainly die during it. If there is no battle this cycle due to a Highstorm, they will instead be forced to take a walk in it, and will definitely die. Each player trains themselves in the arts of war, improving their attack and defence scores. Combat occurs, unless there is a Highstorm. Any player that fails to report for either the lynch duty (that is, posting) or training for two cycles in a row will be executed. Cycles last for 48 hours. A player may use all possible actions in one cycle - Lighteyed Vote, Role Actions, Spy Actions, Training and Shardblade Kills. Training During each cycle, all players must report for training. People start with an amount of attack and defence depending on their role (usually around 4 or 5 for both), and each day they improve these stats in some way. Every day a player may increase these stats by a combination of two points (+2/+0, +1/+1, +0/+2). A Spearman or a Swordsman may increase their stats by any combination of three points instead. Events At the end of each cycle, one of three things will happen: A Highstorm (20%), a Skirmish (50%), or a Battle (30%). During a Highstorm, no actions may be taken at all. Voting will still occur, however, and so the lynch will still take place. At the end of a Skirmish, a player will die, chosen at random but weighted by their defence stat. For each player that dies in combat like this, there is a 50% chance that another player will die. However, there is also the chance that a player may exalt themselves during combat, and each battle will bestow upon a player a bonus. Similarly to the death mechanic, this is weighted by the players' attack stats, and there is a 50% chance that for each player who proves themselves, another will do the same. A Battle is similar to a Skirmish, except two players die and two players exalt themselves during it, which is then followed by the random chance for extra occurrences. The good thing about a Battle is that an additional prize is added to the list – a Shardblade (10%). Deaths occur before prizewinning. A Spy cannot be killed during combat with their own faction's army. Items may not be given away (or returned for their monetary value). Prizes that may be obtained from a Skirmish or a Battle include a better weapon (+2/+0, at 40%), a better shield (+0/+2, at 40%) or even a decently forged suit of armour (protects you from the next death, 20%). Players may receive the sword and shield multiple times, but will not receive duplicates of armour. A player may not be rewarded multiple times in a combat. Only one Shardblade can be obtained per Battle, and it allows the wielder to make an unblockable kill action each cycle, occurring just before a battle. The bestowal of a Shardblade is a public event, and any Darkeyes or Heterochromic who wins one will become Lighteyed, with all that entails. It also increases the wielder's capabilities by +5/+0. If a Shardblade is won again by that player in another Battle, they may give it away to a player of their choice. Spies There are a number of spies, all working in pairs, from different armies. They do not know the identity of spies from other armies. Spies may be of any eye colour and may have any role. The spies all win together, providing their faction survives. A Google doc symbolises their Spanreed. Unlike most Eliminators, they all get a special action, which is to disrupt a player's training and prevent it having any effect. Eye Colour Being a Darkeyes sure is tough, huh? All the rotten jobs, the late night watches, being forced into battle every day and being kicked around like that. Still, what can you do? The answer is you can win a Shardblade and escape your horrible background. But will you forget that you were once a downtrodden serf, or will you forget it all in your moment of glory and turn your back on your once-friends? Darkeyes have no special abilities (isn't it sad?).Being a Lighteyes though is great – You get to boss people around, use swords, and you can even skip a battle if you want (just not too often – Dalinar's watching, after all. Maybe once a campaign, if you ask nicely). Of course, you also have an amount of influence with your fellow Lighteyes, and even the ear of the king in some cases! Lighteyes may secretly send a PM to the GM once per cycle containing the name of a player. An extra vote will be placed against that player, and the source will not be known. They may also choose, once per game, to skip this cycle's combat. With one murky eye and one shining brightly, Heterochromics occupy a strange place in Vorin-based societies. No-one is ever really sure how to react to them, for a start. Add to this the fact that they're more often than not bastard children, and the issue is even worse. Heterochromics are technically Lighteyes, but the stigma of being born of Darkeye stock means that they're socially worthless. Heterochromics are Darkeyes with a Lighteyes role. The eye colour of each player will be known at the beginning of the game. There will be many more Darkeyes than Lighteyes, and (most likely) only one Heterochromeric. Roles What's your job around the camp? Well, I'm glad you asked... Watchmen [Darkeyes] (4/4) pick a six hour slot in the cycle to patrol during, and at the end of the cycle they get sent a list of all the actions sent in during that period, but not who did them or the result. Messengers [Darkeyes] (3/4) are able to start a PM chain between themselves and one other player, but only to one person per cycle. To start a new PM, they must stop the old one. Spearmen [Darkeyes] (4/4) can increase their stats by any combination of three points, rather than two, whenever they train. Guardsmen [Darkeyes] (5/5) can choose another player to protect each cycle, and they stop a player from being affected by the Spies that cycle. Quartermasters [Lighteyes] (5/5) know what rewards are given out after a combat, and to whom. Surgeons [Lighteyes] (4/4) can choose another player each cycle, and that player will be saved if they die via a lynch or combat. Swordsmen [Lighteyes] (5/5) are the Lighteyed equivalent of Spearmen, and also get three points per round of training rather than two. Officers [Lighteyes] (6/6) can single out another player during training. They improve that player's stats by an additional +1/+0 or +0/+1 (the Officer's choice). In addition to this, they learn that player's attack and defence. The King's Wit [Lighteyes] (0/8) wins a personal victory if they are either lynched (and not saved) or killed by a Shardblader. The player that killed them or voted for them first will lose their role, and if they are a Lighteyes, they will be treated as a Darkeyes for the rest of the game. I know I have a game starting at the moment, but I had this idea for a Mid-Range game with a few twists (at 3AM, so bear with me if some parts just don't work). I had a 10 minute discussion with a few friends over whether 'heterochromic' was right or not (I didn't think so), but there seems to be no official word for someone with heterochromia. If anyone knows, please let me know. I would also like suggestions for prizes, either rewording the basic sword and shield to something more flavorful or adding to the list a little.

LONDON (UK) Signing 4th AUGUST 2014
Wyrmhero replied to Sabrina Stormshard's topic in Events and Signings
Okay, I'll probably aim to turn up around fiveish as well then -
The Great Noble Houses of Luthadel have been called to the Heron House ball this week with a purpose - but no-one knows what it is. You eye your friends suspiciously as you gather in the great hall, drinks untouched by everyone. No-one wants to be the first to talk about the possible reasons for gathering here. The first to play their hand is often the first to fall. But regardless of what people are not saying, it is obvious that everyone else is thinking about it too. Some of those here can claim to be the strongest people in the city. Those secretly a part of the Great Houses have known each other since childhood, though they may only guess at their true allegiances. Others have only been in Luthadel a few years, attempting to plant the roots of their House into the great city. All of them are dangerous. Even your own family isn't trustworthy in your eyes. And if you can't trust them, who can you trust? All your House's allies and enemies (at least, those worth speaking of) are gathered here under one roof. You spend just as much time keeping track of your allies as your enemies. After all, you may claim them as a friend, host them at your Keep and support one-another with trade, but doesn't mean they might not kill you tonight to gain favour with another House instead. It's a Noble thing. The rules have changed somewhat from their first incarnation (and from the form currently seen on the game ideas thread), so make sure you read them through again. A couple of things to bear in mind about this game which aren't rules, but more guidelines suggestions and things to bear in mind about how I'll be playing this as a GM: I will not be a presence on most of the docs, due to the fact that there should be a rather large number of them, and I would not be able to keep up with everything all at once. As such, rules clarifications requested in the docs will not be answered. If you want a clarification, as in the thread or by PM if it's sensitive - but be aware that I will post the response on the thread, though not who asked it. None of the rules require me to make a decision - Even the 'fact from the GM' part of the Informant is done at random from all the possibilities that exist. Roleplaying's highly encouraged, considering the nature of this game is more political than most. As is making alliances and stabbing them in the back within the same cycle . Family names would also be good on your characters, as it makes things a bit easier for me - But please make sure they haven't been used already, since that just makes things awkward. The game will start next Monday (21st) at 9PM GMT, unless people request a delay. Likewise, turns will end at 9PM GMT, after which a write-up will be posted in the time-honoured tradition. I would like as many players as possible for this, so you have no reason to not sign up! Oh, and if anyone wants to be a spectator for this game, send me a PM and I'll send you a link to a spectator doc when it begins. That's enough from me, so I'll now let people sign up. Good luck and, above all, have fun! Quick Links:

Can't it be both? I think he's trying to split the vote so they can come in with one for Dreok. Possibly to save Riingar too. Personally, I lean towards Riingar and Jain both being Mutineers. Ringar today, Jain tomorrow?- 361 replies

Quick Fix Game 2: Crushthroat's Beginnings
Wyrmhero replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I am going to retract my vote for Jeno, and vote for someone else. Who, I hear you ask? That's a very good question. Once more I am in the unenviable position of not having all the information needed for a cycle. I don't know whether Jain is indeed evil or not, lynching him doesn't help us too much. Do we lynch for information? Possibly. Unfortunately, not sure if we really have the time for that. So the question is whether I go with the flow or vote for someone else instead. That's a difficult question. Which of the suspects do I think is the best person for us to lynch, out of Jain, Hreo, Riingar, Riitii, Jeno, Jaelre and Luka? Well, I'll look at it again int he wonderful form of bullet points. If we lynch Jain and he's innocent, we get no information. He could be guilty, but I'm doubting it. And frankly that would give us no information either. So lynching Jain doesn't really help us in the long run. Hreo is a possibility, but he may be up for a kill this cycle anyway. If he's a Gunner as well, then we will get no information. But that in itself is questionable. He could be attempting to get us to ignore him by saying that we won't get any information out of him if we do. A possible Mutineer trick to avoid being looked at too closely. Riingar being guilty would allow us to narrow down our suspects immensely. If he was innocent, then it would also do the same, as he bloc voted on day 6. Overall, a 'safe'ish lynch, if we must go for that. Riitii's infamous chart is pretty much at the centre of his game. If he's guilty, then that puts the spotline on Hreo and Jeno. Otherwise, we see Luka, Jaelre and Riingar as potential evil peoples. Jeno's a Gunner who has survived a Mutineer attack, apparently confirmed by Mai to be without a Buckler, and as such, I am inclined to believe his innocence. This pushes me away from Hreo and Riitii. Jaelre's been quiet, which is a common Eliminator tactic. There's not much to say here that hasn't been said before about how he voted last cycle. Luka's been under my suspicions for a while now, and while helpful, I have noted some questionable voting at times. She has also Grappling Hooked Hreo, who she has been on the other voting side of before, but mentioned that to us for some reason. Regardless, if Hreo does indeed get hit this cycle, it proves little. Overall, I am more suspicious of Jaelre/Riingar/Luka than of Riitii/Jeno/Hreo, so I will vote Riingar and go to sleep and hope. Goodnight.- 361 replies

This is the precise reason that my family got one here. When I was younger, and I spent less time on the internet and more time playing games, I mostly played on the PS2/3, due to the fact that I was a real fan of JRPGs due to my friends, and didn't really have any experience with games from almost anywhere else except Japan. I pretty much only play the Kingdom Hearts and Disgaea series on the PS3 these days. I also spend a lot of time away from home at university, so I physically can't play it a lot of the time. Now, having said that, I am fond of my 3DS. I don't often play it due to the fact that I've completed most of the games I've got and have other things to do, but there are certain games on there that I really love, and can't get on any other console. I don't use the 3D aspect, but for the most part I play DS games on it anyway because the screen's so much larger than on my agéd DS. Most of my time gaming though is on my PC. Generally speaking, almost every game on a console that I want is also available on PC and usually works better on it as well due to the extra hotkeys and so on. I tend not to care too much about the hardware aspect though, because generally speaking my laptop is able to cope with most things (on a low setting). The only games I can't play on my laptop that I've found are Sims 3 (which is also now unplayable full stop due to the 10 minute loading times...) and KOTOR2, which is strange to me considering its age and the fact that Skyrim works, but. On the other hand though, I don't like XBoxes. I've never owned one, and doubt that I ever will. Not because I prefer Sony to Microsoft, but because the XBox has never had a game on it exclusively that I've been interested in. Also because I hate the idea of paying for an online account like that. So maybe I do prefer Sony to Microsoft, though that's like saying that I'd prefer to read Paolini to Meyer, with Valve being Weeks and GoG being Sanderson for a comparison . I do like my mods though, and any game like Elder Scrolls I will get on PC just because of this. I also like the greater versatility of games available on the computer, and I think that Steam is a lot better than the PSN due to the fact that Steam doesn't overcharge you as badly for a new game. So yeah, while I don't judge on hardware as such, I definitely judge by the company's treatment of their players with regards how much they charge their players for things, and the games that I want on each. For instance, I won't be shelling out on a PS4 until it becomes really cheap or there's a lot of stuff on it that I want (and I have the time to make it a worthwhile investment). Whereas my computer is still fairly decent and has new games on it practically every week thanks to Steam and GoG sales. So yeah. PC Master Race, because it's not exclusively owned by some massive company, neither of the main two I go to overcharges their customers, and it has, quite often cheap, varied games .

Thank you for your response - I remove my vote from Riingar, and call upon Jeno to the stand to explain his vote for Jaelre. Saying no-one ever suspects him is not really a cause for a vote. Not that you actually placed it though, it seems. If New One gets online before I get a response from The Only Joe, know that I want you to defend your voting actions these last few days too. Your loyalty is questionable, but of vital importance.- 361 replies

Quick Fix Game 2: Crushthroat's Beginnings
Wyrmhero replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It was a good thing, Wyrm decided, that he'd been hit with a grappling hook a few days ago. He'd kept it and he knew it would come in handy. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite the right shape for a hand, and so whenever he tried to use it, it didn't work quite so well. Occasionally he considered that he should steal someone else's hand, but that would be a little difficult without their doctor to reattach it. Maybe his father could have done it, but they were far away from Elantris now. But that didn't matter anyway. He was dead, and therefore couldn't really pick anything up anyway. It was all his ghostliness was worth to catch up to the ship whenever it moved, and not float there above the sea instead. Though it did mean that he could play tricks on people. He floated up behind someone quietly, a ghostly image of an imaginary ferret following him, and then suddenly shouted in their ear. "Boo!" Geez, six votes last cycle? That's not good. I get that Jene gave up and therefore didn't vote (despite the fact that he could have attempted to avoid his death), but what about Jain and Luka? Why did they never vote? I'm highly disappointed that Jene never logged on to talk last cycle. That could have easily saved him from the hemp fandango this cycle. However, it does continue to make me suspicious of Riitii. Everyone you've voted for has been lynched. Why did you vote for Jene so quickly? You said that he's suspicious, but at that point it was 2-0, and you confirmed the lynch before he'd even had a chance to talk (not that he did). Why? I am disappointed with the fact that Hreo never mentioned that he used the Grappling Hook before. If he'd said at first that it was a mistake, it would have been somewhat understandable, if suspicious. Keeping it back to himself for so long is not helpful, considering that we struggled to figure out what was happening then. Interesting too that he mentions it the day that Jene was killed, so it seems less suspicious when he's confirmed to be innocent. In addition to that, Jain, why are you voting in kind again instead of for someone else? Jeno, I don't know what you're talking about. Clearly I had a Buckler . You cannot kill the admiral! (keeping up our streak of one death a night there). So we have a total of three confirmed Gunners in myself, Kal Dell and Jene. Is Jain a Gunner? Most likely. He'd have had to have bid 6 or more on a Buckler on Day 4 (as I bid 5), and that was without any real threat on him at the time. It's possible that he could have done it just because, but unlikely. The other question is Jeno. Mai said that he had bought the Buckler on Day 3, and so Jeno cannot possibly have had it on Day 4. Therefore, it is likely that we have five. It is quite possible then that there are four Mutineers with one Gunner, and 11 Loyal Crew with four Gunners. There would definitely not be five loyal Gunners without any being on the other side with four Mutineers. Certainly, with that many Gunners around, and doubting that there would be two Mutineers who are both Gunners, there would have to be four Mutineers. As an aside, Kai tried to trick us into believing he was a Gunner. Which I doubt anyone really believed him, I'm somewhat surprised that the Mutineers decided to strike him anyway. It suggests that the attacker there really didn't believe him. In QF2, two players still here were on the same side as Kai when he last used this gambit - Myself and Riingar. Not that this suggests something really, since as I said I doubt anyone really believed him (and if you did, shame on you for taking someone at their word ), but regardless, something small to consider. So looking at the people left, we have: Jeno [Gunner], Wyrm [Gunner], Jatae, Riingar, Jain [Gunner], Hreo, Riitii and Luka. At this point, I'm starting to be suspicious of everyone on that list. But most suspicious currently to me are Jain, Hreo, Riitii and Luka. Jain Jain is an erratic player at best, and seems to have been using his reputation of being random at first to slip under the radars, for the most part. But recently he's become a lot more gung-ho about his lynch targets. It also points towards him being the Mutineer Gunner. Points against though, on Day 5, no-one really tried to stop him from being lynched. Mai and Jeno tried to lynch someone else, and that was about it. While possible that they just decided to let him be and vote for him due to his nature as a Gunner, I am hesitant to say that is a certainty with this level of communication. This suggests that there may actually be a sixth Gunner who is a Mutineer hiding around (or Jeno as a WGG) in the form of Jatae, Riingar, Hreo, Riiti or Luka. This is much less likely, but a possibility nonetheless. Hreo Up until recently, Hreo's slipped under the radar quite a bit. He's never been in danger of being lynched, and has voted for the lynchee more often than not. He seems to be using Riitii's chart to base his suspicions on though, which may suggest that he's using that as a base from which to make his slightly inaccurate accusal. Even worse, if they are both Mutineers, this shows a co-ordinated effort on their part, and we should look back at every player using Riitii's chart as a base. He also Grappling Hooked Kai the day before he died. Generally speaking he's made long-written arguments for his votes though, even with Riitii's chart. He's also explained his use of the Grappling Hook, and it could have easily been just that the Mutineers either went for Kai anyway or took advantage of his definite lack of Buckler. If Riingar is evil, he could simply be led astray by the chart. Riitii Well, the most damning evidence is that he has voted for the person being lynched every day without pause. As we've said as well, his charts are a useful way to convince people to your way of thinking, and also to throw out suspicions without really giving much evidence in that way. Of note is that so far, his chart has been wrong each time we've lynched someone. In addition, the night deaths have been people who are at the other end of the chart. On the other hand, this could just be a player being friendly but wrong. Kal Dell was a pretty easy lynch target for three days considering his survival rate at it, and Jain is also an easy lynch target. They were both suspicious, which is what we must go on. In addition, the night deaths will go for people at the top of the chart anyway because that's how it works. (on another note, why am I not at the top yet? ) Luka Luka has voted for five of the six lynchees whenever she's been online. She did not vote for Day 7 She voted on Day 7, but Meta (bolded so he notices) didn't record her vote. It is for Hreo. So she's voted for the people on the chopping block 5/7 times, and only one of those five was for someone only brought into range by a Grappling Hook (which isn't evidence really, but I thought it best to mention). For the most part though, it seems that she has voted with Jatae and Riingar rather than my other suspects though. In addition, her posts have generally contained useful information. She's voted for a tie before, but not to save someone innocent, as we now know for certain - All three in danger were innocent (myself, Kal Dell and Jene), though I am aware that saying I'm innocent never gets very far. Let's have a look at voting patterns instead. Day 6, we had Jeno, Hreo and Riitii all voting the same way. This trend is mostly also there on Days 2 and 3, though Day 2 Jeno voted for me. He changed his vote to Kal ell the next day, then dropped it the next few days. Day 5 suggests otherwise slightly though, as Jeno voted for Jene, which was a lynch group that could have threatened the Jain one. However, it was still two votes out of that target, so Jeno had no reason to change his vote to help it in any way, so it's still possible. We've also seen Jeno hit by a Mutineer attack, so this is perhaps less likely. Day 6 also showed Jatae, Riingar and Luka working in concert to get Riitii lynched. This pattern has held up more commonly on previous cycles, being seen fully on Days 3 and 4, and also partially on Day 5, with Riingar voting against the grain here in a case where it didn't matter. Jatae and Riingar have mostly slipped under the radar, with Riingar being generally helpful, if incomprehensible, and Jatae being much less outspoken (which is somewhat suspicious). Riingar and Jaelre are also both somewhat suspicious as I mention below, but that came from seeing these patterns rather than taking note of them through the game to be suspicious. Today I would like some explanations from them. Unfortunately, both of these cliques only have three members each. Does this suggest that there are only three Mutineers, or that all the people in either group are Mutineers? Not at all. They could easily have split up, though this is unlikely on Day 6 due to the fact that this resulted in a tie. It could be that they decided not to force a lynch to avoid suspicion, but I'm not sure this late in the game. It seems that we may have to lynch someone and then work on whether they are innocent, rather than whether they are guilty, unfortunately. We have lost 7 people, and so it's currently 4:4 though, or perhaps 5:3. Therefore, if we get the wrong person, we're in serious trouble. This cycle, we need questions badly. We need things answered badly. If you are innocent, answer every question honestly, and give out all the information you have - If not, we've lost anyway. I am voting for Riingar, because he hasn't needed to defend himself much. He could easily have suggested that they vote for Riitii because of the chart. Riingar is high up on it, and if Riitii was found to be innocent, this would show that Riingar was likely to be innocent too, as Riitii thought so much of him. Riingar, explain why you voted for Riitii please. I also want Jaelre to explain why he voted the way he did as well.- 361 replies

You mean Farmville but Mistborn (Keepville?)? I could see it, as long as it subverts the usual cutesy and cartoonish nature of them. The only problem is that it's a very, very crowded market, and there's very little difference between them. It would need a definite hook other than the IP to stand out, and even then it probably wouldn't...

Quick Fix Game 2: Crushthroat's Beginnings
Wyrmhero replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
So I've been hooked, which suggests to me that I'm going to be attacked tomorrow - I bid on a Buckler last night (and the night before, for that matter, which I won, hoping that they'd attack me for my activity), but that didn't get through for obvious reasons. Seems to me that they're doing a similar thing to me as they did to Kai. This suggests that they didn't care about the votes either time, but just wanted to ensure a certain person's death. This is the second time that they have ignored (or perhaps missed) an even vote. So today there are only two people who didn't vote for either of the two lynch targets - Myself and Jain. Riitii continues his streak of voting for the lynch target every day, and Luka's not far behind him. After that, the next people who've gone for the most lynch targets are Hreo, and Riingar. As an aside, has anyone notices that only one person's been dying each cycle? My wishlist for things to discuss this cycle: Why did you not vote for someone you found suspicious, Jeno? Luka, are the charts really enough of a reason to vote for Riitii? Has he not done anything else suspicious (he has, in my opinion, but I want to see yours) that makes him worth voting for? I would like to see Hreo's explanation for voting for Luka (as he said he would give today), for voting for Jain, and why Luka's suspicions would make him change his mind. Still no discussion from Jain, or Jene for that matter. They just keep talking about wanting to die.- 361 replies

Quick Fix Game 2: Crushthroat's Beginnings

Very defeatist there. I mean, we've only lost 5 people. There's 10 players left, and either 6 or 7 of them are loyal. There's no reason at all we can't turn this around, and saying we have no or very little hope sounds as though you're trying to make us all give up, pack up and go home. I also note a lack of discussion from you about the points I've turned up.- 361 replies

Quick Fix Game 2: Crushthroat's Beginnings
Wyrmhero replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It is quite possible that they tried to stop Kai from getting a Buckler, you're right. It's something I hadn't considered. And with regards to the fact that the first part of my post was confusing, it's because I was just looking at who had voted for the tie, rather than considering that one would have won normally, as I did not see a reason for them to Grapple Kai otherwise. As such, I was considering why they would want to use it in the way they did to affect votes, rather than actions. But the question there is why would they want to kill Kai so much that they would give up the chance to kill Kal, considering your point about how they would be happy with any loyal death rather than mine. It could be that they were trying to get rid of me and set Kai up, for that matter, over the course of two cycles. Of course, the problem here is that this is all speculation until we actually hit one of them. We might have information about the innocents and people voting for them, but it would be a lot easier if one of them was dead and confirmed Status Updates though? Whatever will players think of next... I suppose they're not hidden, so I guess it's fair play, even if it seems off. Also, please ignore my current reputation title. I am still definitely not a Fjorden, no matter what this website says.- 361 replies

Quick Fix Game 2: Crushthroat's Beginnings
Wyrmhero replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
As you say, Luckat, Kal Dell had the most votes placed on him on Day 2. However, that doesn't really mean anything when you consider the Grappling Hook as well. My suggestion here is not that the Mutineers attempted to kill Kal Dell or implicate him in any way, but that they were trying to get the surprise lynch on me. This would explain their slightly strange behaviour and why the hook was used. Looking back on it, I have now realised that there was a three-way tie going on before Hreo changed his vote. Luka was the one who forced it to be a three-way tie. There were three votes placed within the last hour of that cycle - Two for me (Jeno's vote without a cause, Luka's vote to force a tie), and then Hreo's change from Jene to Kal Dell five minutes before the cycle's end. Both Jeno's vote and Hreo's change are suspicious to me. Hreo did then continue to follow up the Kal Dell lynch, while Jeno and Jene suddenly backpedaled on their vote for me the next cycle. I am not quite sure what to make of this though, I will admit. If anyone wants to voice their thoughts on this, it would be appreciated. It's a shame that Jene has decided to 'reassess' everything instead of having an outward discussion as to why I think him suspicious.- 361 replies

Oh, my apologies. I read the wrong line on my chart. In which case, that should be Luka who did so. So ignore (most of) my suspicion of Matim in the above thread, it's now more heavily on Luka instead.- 361 replies

I'd appreciate it if people stated the reasons they voted for people rather than just saying 'this person said stuff that made sense'. Which parts do you agree with? What do you think about the other stuff? I accept that you may not be able to change your vote now, but if you survive this cycle it'd be nice to have a clarification tomorrow. More information is good, and I've not seen you give out that much recently.- 361 replies

Quick Fix Game 2: Crushthroat's Beginnings
Wyrmhero replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
To be more precise, it somewhat depends on the number of Gunners on either side (or rather, the number of Gunners would be determined by the Mutineer number, I think). If they have no Gunners, then I expect there will be four Mutineers to the 11 loyal players, of which two or three would be Gunners. If they have a Gunner, then I expect it's three Mutineers to 12 loyal players, of whom two, three or four would be loyal Gunners. Thinking about it though, I doubt it would be four Mutineers and a Gunner. That gives them too many lives. My base estimate of four was just because that is the number I would expect for this game, but that was without factoring in the extra life roles. So as such, I think my previous estimate of four was probably a little too pessimistic, and I am happy to agree that there are more likely to be three (with one of them being a Gunner to balance it out).- 361 replies

Why am I bent on lynching you? I'm not. I'm bent on getting straight answers out of you. I'm bent on making you not so inconsistent. Erratic play is useless to the loyal faction at best, and a hindrance at worst. The question is whether or not it's a smokescreen for you to be evil behind, and I am of the opinion that it quite easily could be. I didn't expect it to turn into a full lynch, I just wanted you to give a proper reason. This makes twice that my vote has turned into a bandwagon after I've gone offline... Also, how many Gunners do we have??? (I'm doubtful it was the shield, considering you weren't on the radar the previous day) So who has voted for the lynch target the most times? Riitii has done so every cycle, and Luka is just one behind him. However, I'm doubtful that they are both Mutineers (if indeed either of them at all) because they voted in different ways each time. They have both been very helpful to us as well, with Riitii's charts and Luka's explanations. True, it could certainly be a ploy, but I'm not so sure in a Quick Fix game. Not when there can be both non-secret and secret co-ordination with the PM they can send each night. Considering we have 15 players, I expect there to be four Mutineers. This number is a little higher than normal though, so that would explain our apparent abundance of Gunners. Let's look at the votes in which four or more people voted the same way. Day 2 - Kal Dell was voted for by Kai, Riingar, Hreo and Riitii Day 3 - Kal Dell was voted for by Jeno, Wyrm, Jatae, Riingar, Hreo, Riitii and Luka Day 4 - Kal Dell was voted for by Jatae, Jain, Hreo, Riitii and Luka Day 5 - Jain was voted for by Wyrm, Riingar, Riitii, Matim and Luka Now let's assume that the Mutineers couldn't get total co-ordination going, and look at three or more people voting the same way. In addition to the list above, we also get: Day 1 - Jene was voted for by Mai, Kai and Riitii Day 2 - Wyrm was voted for by Jeno, Jene and Matim Day 3 - Jene was voted for by Mai, Matim and Kal Day 5 - Jene was voted for by Jeno, Mai and Jain And for the sake of completeness, two votes. Day 2 - Jene was voted for by Mai and Wyrm Day 3 - Mai was voted for by Jene and Jain Day 4 - Hreo was voted for by Riingar and Mai In addition to this, I am highly suspicious of the people who turned my single vote into a wagon. This would be the vote for Jain on the previous cycle. I am not counting Kal Dell on day 3, because I'm not particularly blaming people for jumping on that. However, the sheer number of people there is very weird. While I'm doubtful that all the Mutineers will be there or none of them will be there (in this case due to the fact that I think there are four), it is interesting that the three who didn't vote that way who aren't dead are Jene, Jain and Matim, people I am already a bit suspicious of. So what does this tell us? A large chunk of the low-scoring votes were by people who have been confirmed to be innocent. There were no co-ordinated votes on the first day, aside from the one for Jene. This was done by 2 loyal people and Riitii, so that's not too impressive, and doesn't really hint towards anything (other than possibly Riitii being innocent if Jene is a Mutineer, but this was after his vote wouldn't have made a difference anyway, so it might have been a ploy to seem innocent because he knew Jene was a Mutineer). On Day 2, we have two sets of co-ordinated votes, with Kal Dell and Wyrm. Kal Dell was voted for by Kai, Riingar, Hreo and Riitii, all of whom started this long after I retracted my vote, and I was voted for by Jeno, Jene and Matim, for what I consider to be highly spurious reasons. The Kall Dell lynch 'won', but the Grappling Hook was used. I am not sure whether or not this should be considered suspicious or not now we know Kal Dell was innocent, because it requires a lot of co-ordination to get that tied vote. The only way it could be done, in my opinion, is if it was a rogue Mutineer, Kal himself (which we know it's not) or planned very much in advance. Perhaps it was an attempt to force a lynch on me instead that went a bit awry, in which case I am suspicious of Jeno, Jene and Matim (Why did we not look at this angle back then?). It would just seem as though the Mutineers picked their target if they did it well, and there would be little suspicion to fall on them. Day 3 has the ridiculous Kal Dell bandwagon. Everyone wants to prove their innocence by lynching someone they suspect. Except that didn't go too well. Kal Dell was voted for by Jeno, Wyrm, Jatae, Riingar, Hreo, Riitii and Luka. Not a single confirmed loyal person amongst them. We also have Jene, voted for by Mai, Matim and Kal. This vote was mostly done by loyal crew, however, which drops Matim down my suspicion list a little, but not entirely off it as it never got anywhere. We also had the vote of Jene and Jain for Mai. Day 4 was when the crew finished off Kal Dell. As such, it's not a surprise to see the same players vote for him. The players who did not vote for Kal Dell were Jeno, Mai, Jene, Wyrm, Riingar and Matim. I am suspicious of (most of) them, because there was no need for the Eliminators to continue with this vote, but most of all I am suspicious of Jeno because of the fact that he actually dropped his vote, rather than continuing to vote differently to that bandwagon as some of the others did. Day 5, we have the sudden leap on my vote for Jain, which was done by myself, Riingar, Riitii, Matim and Luka. Matim didn't want to vote for Jain, but did so anyway to avoid an apparent deadlock. Jain was 'winning' the lynch 4-2 at that point. In addition to that, previously Matim has used somewhat questionable arguments to vote for people before, which makes me suspicious. In particular, this is after saying that they would do more research to avoid appearing to bandwagon my votes. There is also the Jene vote, by Mai, Jeno and Hreo. Not only did his reasoning boil down to 'I don't think they on the same side', which is kind of an easy assumption to make when they've been voting for each other all game. But that doesn't quite fit the fact that Jeno was attacked on Day 4, rather than lynched. I won't say that it's not impossible for Jeno to be a Mutineer, but it is certainly less likely. So let's assume that he's not, and look for 'allies' for Matim and Jene. Matim voted for someone with other people thrice, on Days 2, 3 and 5, and therefore this includes Jeno, Jene, Kal, Mai, Hreo, Luka, Riitii, Riingar and myself on the lynch on Jain. Matim has voted on his own for players on Days 1 and 4. With regards to Day 5, while I am also suspicious of Jain, by now the Mutineers would know if Jain was a Gunner (or had obtained a Buckler), and the vote was already made and solidified. Matim's vote didn't change anything there, and so I don't think it's quite a case of either/or as of yet. Jene has voted alongside other people less often though. He has voted alongside Jeno, Luka, Jain. Two others that I am suspicious of, though I've mentioned that Jeno is probably innocent. This might also hint towards Luka not being as loyal as we think, considering that she has also voted for the lynchee four out of five times as well. Let's look at another angle instead of voting, and instead see who has been voted for by players who have died. Mai - Jene, Jene, Jene, Jene Hreo and Jene. Kai - Jene, Kal Dell, Jatae Ratel - Jain, Mai Kal Dell - Aonar, Jene Aonar - Alvron It's questionable quite how much we can really say that the players were targetted because of these votes. Mailliw, Kas, Alvron and Aonar are all experienced players of the game (debatable with Kas, but he dies early all the time anyway so it's nothing new), and so their dying early is not too suspicious. I am quite surprised by how long Mailliw lasted though, considering he's played the most games out of anyone and survived a long time in them too. There are two main scenarios here that I am considering. Mai kept going after Jene, and so the Mutineers were happy to let him live because they knew that Jene was innocent and therefore Mai was safely barking up the wrong tree. The Mutineers are not in the slightest bit connected to who they kill, and are just doing so based on perceived threat and experience. The Mutineers have killed players who were more personally relevant - Jain and Jatae, in other words, killed Ratel and Kai respectively, and Jene or the fourth Mutineer decided to kill Aonar instead due to the fact that Aonar dies at the end tends to be a good player as well, and killing Mai that early on would be suspicious. If it was the fourth Mutineer, then this means that the fourth kill could be Jene's to finally kill Mailliw. While I do not think Jatae is a Mutineer (because everyone wants to kill Kas), Kai did also vote for Jene on day one. It is also certainly possible that Jain went after Alvron as soon as he got the kill because of the fact that he was the only one to voice suspicion of Jain at the time. Even if there was another plan in place, we know he doesn't follow kill orders from Rubix' game when he was the Ghostblood, and considering he's an erratic player anyway, it makes sense. Or who knows, maybe Hreo killed Mai? (doubtful, considering how little suspicion Hreo's been under so far). So overall, my thoughts are this - I am suspicious of Jene, Matim, Luka (partly) and Jain, though I admit the latter is just due to the fact that he is what would be affectionately termed 'a wild card', or perhaps he's using that opinion of him to his advantage. I will vote for Jene, for now.- 361 replies
