    nah this SCP story that proposed after death you can still feel all the pain you would normally be able to feel, and your consciousness never fades. It's storming terrifying. I find that either the religion genuinely does believe that all good people go to the 'good afterlife' and bad people go to the 'bad afterlife' or they use some convaluted justification for why our believers go to the good one, non-believers go to the bad one. Or they just forgo the afterlife entirely (judaism my goat (fun fact: christians made up the afterlife, and most angels))

    And most works of fiction aren't that good because the writer just started writing, or doesn't have any experience, or was trained wrong, or gets the wrong feedback. If most paintings are terrible, does that mean you shouldn't go to museums? If most humans do bad things, does that mean you should stop looking for the good ones? The logic I see here is that Most songs w/ lyrics are bad, so you stopped looking for the good ones from the good artists with the good stories

    Well I don't think about it much. I believe an afterlife is merely a fancy little fantasy constructed to make people feel better about the cruel reality of death. As for how I cope with eternal oblivion, at least its better than that one SCP Story I read. It haunts me while I am awake. IT HAUNTS MEEEE I mostly struggle with fate v free will which I have neatly resolved with either 'it doesn't matter' or 'if quantum physics can do it, I can too'

    How do sounds alone communicate characters or settings? I understand emotions, and progression, but settings and characters are a bit of a stretch. As much as I do agree with the unique to each interpretation, I severely disagree with the sentiment of it being a shortcut. I have a question for you: How do you understand the music's story without lyrics? Because I am a very story-oriented person, and as much as I enjoy the sentiment of something being unique with each interpretation, how much of that is the song's storytelling, and how much of that is you imagining a story that aligns with the song?

    Well, then can you tell me how a song can tell a story if you aren't a pitch-perfect god that can see and decipher hidden clues in sheet music as you are listening to a song, or it is just a reference that brings you joy, or is just a fun song that doesn't tell a meaningful story? Sorry if I come across a little rude, I just feel strongly and am not good at expressing strong feelings about an opinion difference without coming off this way.
