    I would actually argue that Zahel was wrong, because there is one flaw in the reasoning. Mistborns (Or highly invested people) stay in the 'transition' longer. I believe, that in the transition, you are a cognitive shadow. You just don't stay for long. However, if you get a constant pump of invetsiture (just enough) (or like, idk, the well of ascension), then you could stay as a cognitive shadow for far longer. Additionally, after, (secret history spoilers): All of this seems to imply that either the cognitive shadow is the 'soul' (however we are defining or using that word) or a copy of someone is getting disintegrated and sent to the beyond for no possible reason.

    I know. I think. things have been out of wack for me recently. But couldn't shaping be an emulsifier? It could hold the alloys together. The Shaping power (Generated from the mordite-luxite reaction) holds itself together, albiet barely. That is why it cant be stable for long without something keeping the shaping power going. All I know is that I want 3 things for smokite/shaping in general: 1. Somewhat outside of the system, and very strange and unstable 2. Involve shapeshifting and shaping in the object itself 3. Mordite-Luxite alloy (possibly solves first 2 problems) but, as Platapus said before, I am not sure if shaping would properly work as an emulsifier.

    No no, its fine. I just realized I was being super confusing and actually don't have any real idea what I'm doing myself. You were being very constructive (lol just accidentally typed destructive) and its fine. The emuslifier is Shaping. . Thats why its so unstable.
