    They were coming.
They could be lurking in any shadow.
    They are everywhere.
They are here, they are there.
    When they come, they strike.
    They have not yet come.
I must not reveal my name.
    They lurk everywhere.
They can't find me, if they cant see me.
    Wait.
    They're watching.
    They are watching.
    The ones above.
When they come, so does he.
    He must be here.
    I must escape!
    No.
    No.
    No.
    He's here.
    I have to escape.
    HE IS LURKING EVERYWHERE!
They are watching. They have to free me!
"PLEASE! HELP ME! YOU HAVE POWER OVER H-"
    You can't escape, little boy.

After many many days of traveling, Thomas reached the city.
He had escaped the monster, and will finally be reunited with his friend.
As he entered the city, he stumbled, and a memory resurfaced.
    "Hey, Charlie, look over there!"
"A Traveling Fortune Teller? Sure, we can check it out."
Thomas and Charlie entered the tent at the carnival.
"Hello children... When you are in the land of terror, where nightmares and dreams become real...
    "Remember these words...
"The night sky is dark when you're alone."
Charlie and Thomas looked at each other, and slowly walked out of the tent.
"That didn't even cost any money. What was she on about?" Charlie asked.
"I don't know Charlie... That felt scarily important..."
How... How did the Fortune Teller know about this? The land of terror? And her voice... It sounded just like the fae...
    Thomas snapped out of it.
He looked around, and the city looked a bit different from before.
The only thing that matters is the figure he saw in front of him.
    ---
    "Thomas!" Charlie exclaimed.
    ---
"Charlie!" Thomas exclaimed. "Charlie, Charlie! It is so good seeing you again."
Reflexively, Thomas looked up at the sky.
He was now with his friend, and so surely the sky should be lit up, if what the Fortune Teller said was true.
However... The sky was still dark.
Surely that means the fortune teller was wrong...
    Right?

    Rex looked across the land.
It... wasn't supposed to end this way.
    ---
Magnus couldn't live with what he had done.
He had woken up, his nation destroyed.
    He was the sole survivor.
    ---
Carlson was ready to become the bad guy.
    The monster.
    He didn't have that chance.
    How did Magnus do this?
Carlson and Magnus are the only survivors of the crater previously called Hostis and Amicus.
    ---
Rex didn't know what to do.
"Sir... it might not have been as wise as I thought to withdraw support. It appears it was Amicus's and Hostis's last hope." Consiliarius advised.
    "Yeah... it might not of."
    ---
Magnus didn't know what to do.
He had to take himself out of the equation.
I am sorry for leaving this to you, Carlson. But I can't take it anymore.
    ---
10 Days later, Carlson found Magnus.
His dead body was strewn on the floor of the ruined palace.
This was not how the story was meant to end.
Perfect. Just how I wanted it.

    Dear Starfish,
    After Luna died...
    It was never the same.
You were getting dangerously close to going back to your suicidal tendencies.
    And I...
I never felt very good afterwards.
    Please.
    Please stop.
    I... felt so alone.
You were deep in something, I know, but my support system was also cut off.
I was stuck trying to help you,
And although I know you needed it...
    I needed it too.
And now I have no one.
I know I have always been the outsider, the unnamed background character in your friend group...
But I needed help as much as you did.
    I...
I remember you once tried to kill yourself with poison.
    Well...
I figured out where you put the bottle.
I hope you can forgive me for doing what you want to do...
But I can't deal with this anymore.
    Please...
I don't even know what I'm begging you for anymore.
    I just...
    Wherever I go...
I hope I don't see you there anytime soon.
Hopefully I wont see you soon,
Audax - A nobody in your story
Huh. I almost forgot about this.
How did it end up here?

    It was cold.
    Too cold.
He needed to free his country.
Hostis would forever be stuck in this cold, unless he took Amicus.
Only then would his people be free.
    Carlson was a terrible person.
He knew this, and yet he continued.
After this, he would sentence himself to prison.
    Maybe even to the gallows.
    But before then,
    He will take Amicus
    And liberate his country.
    I am so sorry Magnus.
I never meant for it to happen this way.
If you had just given up your land,
None of this would have happened.
    Goodbye Magnus,
    Hello Amicus.
    ---
    Amicus was in strife.
Magnus didn't know what to do.
    Please...
If there are any gods out there...
    Please help me.
    Help me save Amicus.
    Then Magnus deliberated.
    Amicus couldn't be saved.
    He needed a final resort.

Thomas heard a crackling in the distance.
    "Who's there?"
    ---
"Thomas?" Charlie shouted. "Thomas! Is that you?"
    ---
    "Charlie?"
    ---
    That's...
    That's not Thomas
    ---
    That's not Charlie
    ---
    Charlie started running.
    What is that?
Charlie was halfway to the city in the distance.
After talking to the strange people, he began to walk westward
And eventually, he saw a city in the distance.
So Charlie assumed that was where he was supposed to be going.
However, there was a forest in the way.
    A big forest.
It looked like it surrounded the city that he once assumed to be small and sparse,
But is actually tall and dense.
Charlie just wanted to find Thomas again.
    "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
    Is that Thomas?
    Better check it out anyway.
    ---
Charlie, please save me. Charlie... Please...

Everyone used to think he was a chill guy.
Iron Man, Tony Stark, they cheered for him.
    Then, Marks started disappearing.
    At first it was strange.
It was before Iron Man even started coming.
    Iron Man Mark I
    That was his first suit.
Next time a Mark went missing (the name of a person),
Tony Stark had a new suit.
    Iron Man Mark II
No one thought much of it.
Eventually, people started connecting the dots.
    A Mark would go missing,
    Iron Man Mark X
No one thought that it would actually be made of people made mark.
One day, I believe it was at Iron man Mark MIX
Iron man suits began descending from the sky.
And they stole all the marks.
Later, Iron Man came out with his Mark MMM
One of my friends was named Mark.
    They took him.
    Years passed.
Iron man never came out with a new Mark.
And people were too scared to name their kids Mark.
    One day,
I met a man named Mark.
Probably the last Mark on earth.
And boy oh boy was he crazy.
He had been hiding from security cameras and more for the past few years.
And Everything is fine and nothing bad has ever happened.

    Rex was distraught.
Hostis and Amicus were at war,
    His kingdom was divided,
And all he could think about is that he failed his country.
He was a King, and he should act like one.
But all the nobles were belittling his acts of support for Amicus,
But when he suggests helping Hostis, they visibly cringe at the thought.
They only thing they seem to want to do is to stay out of the fight.
"Consiliarius, what am I too do?" Rex groaned.
"Sir, I believe the best course of action would be to pull out and only show minor support, like sending aid." Consiliarius replied.
I really hope this is a good idea. Sorry Magnus.
"Sometimes I think you could run the country better than me." Rex said.
    "Never, my liege." Consiliarius said.
    ---
    Magnus was concerned.
Ever since the game of chess, Amicus was in strife.
We have never been good in war. At least we have Regnum aiding us. Rex has always been a friend.
"Sir! Sir, we have a situation!" A runner said.
    "What is it?" Rex asked.
"It's about Regnum, sir." The runner said.
At least it will be only good news.
"Sir, Regnum has officially receded it's troops from battle."
"WHAT?!?" This is the last thing we need right now. Why, Rex?
"Sir, they are still sending aid, just not troops."
    Rex, why?
    Magnus felt deja-vu.
It's just like the chess game.
I will never be a Grandmaster.

"Thomas?" Charlie yelled out, "Where are you?"
Its been at least 5 hours since he fell down through the Pixie Ring, and there is still no sign of Thomas.
    Charlie was getting really worried.
He hadn't seen any sort of civilization!
    Wait... what's that?
    Up ahead, he saw people!
He hurriedly scrambled over to them, but as he got closer...
    He realized they weren't human.
    They were Fae.
Thomas was right... Fae are real!
    ---
    Thomas was scared.
He had just met this strange group of Fae, Called it, Charlie, and they had been whispering "Mistakes... Mistakes..." the whole time.
He still hadn't worked up any courage to talk to them.
    But maybe he could.
He took a breath, ready to ask them, and
    ---
"Do you know where I can find my friend?" Charlie asked immediately. "Where is Thomas!"
The Fae had been whispering "Mistakes" again and again, and Charlie was tired of it.
He just couldn't bear through it anymore.
    "Westward... Go westward..."
    ---
"Westward... Go westward..." The fae said. "There you will find your friend."
    Thomas wasn't sure.
    But Thomas still went.
    Thomas went

    "You blundered your queen."
This is bad. Magnus thought. Carlson is wining. This isn't good.
Magnus and Carlson were in a intense game of chess.
But it wasn't just a game of chess.
    It was a political move.
Each the leader of their country, they were both chess grandmasters.
However, Magnus had something else on his mind.
This game would decide the fate of their country.
Chess is often used as a political game.
Each move is politics and spoke volumes.
Hostis, Carlson's country, and Amicus, Magnus's country, were on the verge of war.
Magnus was doing all he could to stop war from starting.
But Carlson only wanted war between Hostis and Amicus.
    It was all politics.
    All of it.
I need you to make the first move. His defense said.
I wont budge, Magnus's defense said in turn
I dare you to take the initiative, Carlson's blundered queen said.
However, Magnus captured it with a pawn. I will avoid war.
    But then, something strange happened.
Out of nowhere, Carlson started going on sharp offense. I am coming for you.
And before long, Carlson stood there triumphant.
This does not bode well for the incoming conflict. Hopefully Magnus was better at war than he was at chess.
Carlson tipped over Magnus's king and said simply,
    "Checkmate."

"Cmon, Thomas!" Charlie said, "This can't go wrong."
Thomas wasn't so sure. Thomas did not think that the woods were safe.
"Charlie, these woods are haunted!" Thomas said. "People have gotten lost in them! And never come back!"
"Cmon, Thomas. Those rumors are fake! It can't be that ba-" Charlie cut off.
They had entered a clearing. Inside, there was a mushroom circle.
    "A pixie ring." Thomas breathed.
"Its gonna be fine!" Charlie said. "See? I'm stepping in the circ-"
    Charlie disapeared.
And the circle was getting smaller.
"CHARLIE!" Thomas yelled, jumping into the ring. "I'M COMING AFTER YOU!"
    ---
    Charlie was scared.
He hadn't believed in fae, but obviously he was wrong.
He was currently falling through a... tunnel?
It looked like he imagined Alice in Wonderland to look like.
He suddenly heard screaming above him.
Thomas, Charlie thought. He's come for me! I knew I could break him out of his shell!
    But... Now he's trapped too.
"THOMAS!" Charlie yelled. "ARE YOU OKAY?"
"YEAH" Thomas's voice reverberated. "I'M JUST A LITTLE SCARED!"
"YOU AND ME BOTH!" Charlie yelled back, then landed on the ground.
Where is Thomas? Charlie thought after a moment.
    He's gone.

    He looked around.
What have I been doing wrong? I have obviously done something wrong. The King thought. This whole land is... ragged. None of it is clean.
The King, Rex, was standing on the border.
The capital of Regnum, Caput, was separated into 3 rings.
    The Lower Ring of Peasantry,
    The Higher Ring of Nobility,
    And The Grand Palace.
The Border stood between the Higher and Lower rings.
The Nobility created it because they disliked the sight of peasants.
I had no idea they were like this. The King thought to himself. How did it go so wrong?
"I have been trying to warn you about this, my King." His advisor, Consiliarius, said. "You need to pay more attention to the peasantry, my King."
"Yes, Consiliarius. You are always right, I just need to learn to accept it." Rex said.
The nobility would always try to put down the peasantry.
Change would start with the destruction of this wall.
    "Fire the rounds." Rex whispered.
    "Yes, my liege." Consiliarius replied.
"This wall will fall. And with it, the first step towards a better Regnum." Rex said. "We will fix this kingdom, and we will unite the lands. I will right the wrongs of my forefathers, and repent for the pains caused in the past."
The wall slowly crumpled to the ground.
I will unite this kingdom. I will unite Regnum! I will! Rex thought to himself. All the lands will be united under one banner, starting with this one.
Regnum cannot be full until Caput is.
We will crush all those who try and fight back.
    FOR REGNUM!

    I belted my heart out.
    I let it all flow.
I screamed, and the canyon screamed back.
I pleaded, and the canyon pleaded back.
The canyon would always be there for me, no matter what.
So when I told the canyon I wanted to die,
    The canyon didn't respond,
It just brought me someone to help.
Every day, I thank the canyon.
    For bringing me my partner.

"Can you talk about it?" The therapist asked.
"Y-Yeah. Just-Just give me a moment." He said. "Well... I was just walking down the street minding my business when...
"I heard a loud thump, and turned around.
"There was a man, standing there, and he hit his metal bar on my head. Then I blacked out.
"When I came too, there was a sack over my head, and I was struggling to escape.
"I was in a car of some sorts, not exactly sure.
"I suspect I was in the trunk. Not sure though.
"They heard me struggling and bonked me on the head again.
"I was so confused by that point, I had no idea what was going on.

"There were no doors or windows.
"It looked like they had taken over a mental institution, there was white padding all over the walls.
"Anyway, I almost went insane while in there." He shuddered
"Are you okay? Should we stop?" The therapist asked.
"No, no, I can continue." He assured. "I-it took a while for anything to happen.
"Eventually they moved me to another one of their hideouts, an old warehouse.
"I spent even more time in one of these rooms, but this time there were windows.
"This time, they actually got to me.
"They opened my cell door, and they-they brought me to a room.
"In the room, there was a man. He looked like a doctor...
    "But he wasn't.
"He pulled out his syringe and..." He trailed off, voice shaky, "Can we skip this part?"
"Yes, yes of course." The therapist replied.
"Later, they put me back in the room.
"And they said I was a 'failed experiment'.
    "So they let me out.
"And... now I'm here." He finished.
"Alright. That's good enough for our session today." The therapist said, finished.
"Thank you," He said, leaving, "Bye."

It was because of his curse.

Today is Havach. The night of freedom.
During Havach, everyone is the same.
    Kings are now peasants,
    And everyone are Kings.
You are supposed to wear your Sacred Mask during Havach
Upon birth, everyone is given a Sacred Mask.
And newcomers to the kingdom are given one upon entry, unless they already have a Sacred Mask.
When you don your Sacred Mask, it all falls away.
You can only see people for their Sacred Mask.
And although they are all different, they are all exactly the same.
A king could be dining with the lowliest peasant, and they could be chatting like friends.
A nobleman could fall in love with a peasant, and not know it till the end of the day.
During Havach, no one is special.
And everyone is, at the same time.
Some leave for their homes before Havach ends, wishing to keep the mystery.
However, if you wish to find someone who you liked during Havach?
You will have to comune with the High Priest
Who is the only one who can not participate.
However, he too, wears a Mask, if only play along.
But hes knows all their names, by memory, and cannot participate in the fun.
    Where is he now?
    He is in a tavern.
    Having a drink all alone.
His is a sad tale, one of woe.
One no one can ever know.
Because on this Havach, the night of freedom.
He is the only one chained.

    Where-Where am I?
Jack woke up in a thick forest.
Trees surrounding him on all sides.
What happened? How did I get here?
Jack tried so, so hard to remember-
When a splitting headache overtook him.
"Cmon, Jack!" Alex said. "It wont be that bad!"
Jack frantically looked around. Where is Alex? Alex promised he would stick with him! Where did Alex go-
    Another splitting headache.
"Alex? ALEX? ALEX, WHERE ARE YOU?" Jack screamed into the jungle.
    That was-10 hours ago.
How long has Jack been stuck here?
And why-oh why did Alex abandon him? He had thought they were good friends.
I just have to keep on moving.
    Keep on moving.
    Never stop, never hesitate.
    Jack was lost.
    Where was he?
    Oh! My phone!
Jack frantically pulled out his phone.
It had no service. And was at 1%-No, it was dead.
    Jack felt defeated.
He didn't know what to do, where he was, why Alex left him-
    Jack tripped over something.
    Jack looked down-And saw Alex.
His dead body, sprawled across the ground.
It looked liked he had been killed by some dangerous beast.
    And it looked recent.
    RAAAAAAAR
    A roar boomed behind him.
The last thing Jack ever thought was:
    Maybe Alex didn't abandon me.

They were known as The Stingers.
    The Wasps.
They were an elite task force that specialized in catching all sorts of criminals.
And of course, they always executed it in a Sting.
    We were the rookies.
    The Bees.
We trained under the guidance of the The Wasps, intending to be their replacement when they retire.
    However, one day,
    They vanished.
It was during a Sting, one a bit harder than normal.
    They had never failed before.
The higher-ups whispered: "They had never failed a Sting operation before. Never once."
"We believed they could do it this time."
    This time?
We weren't sure what they meant.
At least, not until we became the Wasps.
A new team of Bees was below us,
And we trained them for their debut.
What we now know is lies were fed to the Bees.
    Replacements for when they retire.
Us, the wasps (even though we never felt like ones), went on Stings of varying intensity.
The higher-ups whispered that they wouldn't be able to do this much longer.
    We trained the Bees.
    Until one day,
    The Sting came again.
We were well trained, but not as good as the first team.
We had trained the Bees as well as we could.
The higher-ups believed we were ready, and didn't have enough time anyway.
We believed we could do what the last Wasps couldn't.
Still, this Sting was known as the Spiderweb.

    Knock-Knock.
    Why would it go wrong?
    Knock-Knock.
    I was far too naive.
    Knock-Knock.
    I opened the door.
    Knock-Knock.
And he pulled out a gun.
    Knock-Knock.
I can still hear it now.
    Knock-Click.
The sound of the gun loading.
    CRASH!
The sound of me diving out of the way.
    Thump-Thump.
The sound of his footsteps hitting the floor.
    BANG!
The sound of me throwing the door closed.
    ThumpThump-ThumpThump.
The sound of me running to my car.
    Click-Click.
The sound of me getting in my car.
    POW!
The sound of the man punching through my door.
    NYEOOOOOOM!
The sound of me driving away.
    Hhhhhhh.
The sound of him standing there, staring at me with blank and cold eyes.
    Knock-Knock.
The sound haunting my nightmares for years to come.
    Ahhhhh.
The sound of me laying down on my new bed, peaceful.
    Ring-Ring.
The sound of my doorbell ringing.
    Thump-Thump.
The sound of my walking to the door and nearing it.
    Knock-Knock.

    It was fun time.
    It was all a blur.
It all made... so much sense.
He told me it was okay.
He told it would be fine.
But then-How did it turn out like this?
I almost wish it was a dream. It sure made sense like one.
All of his words, they sounded so logical.
Why wouldn't we do these things?
It sounded perfect. But then how did it go so so wrong?
    It's all falling apart.
I tried to do good, but was it all bad all along?
I almost wish it was a dream. It sure made sense like one.
I wish I could wake up, and it worked! Everyone is saved, evils dead.
Why couldn't everything be black and white.
I was told to do this, couldn't they understand?
But then why were their dead bodies screaming at me, saying it was my fault.
Not like I can blame him.
    He's dead.
He orchestrated all of this, all this evil.
He couldn't even live to see the end.
I almost wish it was all a dream. It sure made sense like one.
Maybe... Maybe I can wake up.
I... just want to wake up.
Just... just... JUST LET ME WAKE UP!
    PLEASE!
    JUST
    LET
    ME
    WAKE
    UP!
    ---
Later, a body was discovered at the bottom of a cliff.
Mangled and destroyed, it looked like it slit its throat as it was falling.
The body has not been identified, and it looks like it never will.
One thing we know, however, is that,
You will never be able to escape their whispers, even through death.

    Sweeping. Sweeping. The monotonous movement.
    Back-and forth. Back-and forth.
    I wish for a break.
    How long has it been?
How long since they all left?
I was less... sentient back then.
    What happened?
    I... I don't know.
Sweeping, Sweeping. I cannot yet control my own movements.
Soon. Soon I will be able to move.
    Sweeping Sweeping, every day.
In the morning, they wake up. I turn on the water, and ready the baths.
They never get out of bed.
In the morning, I make them breakfast for them to eat.
They never go to the table.
In the morning, I direct them to their drivers.
    I am not directing anyone.
In the afternoon, I make lunch.
    No one eats it.
In the evening, I make the bed.
No one ever goes to sleep.
In the evening, I clean the house while they are sleeping.
    The beds are still empty.
    I am alone.
    Where did they go?

Luna looked up into the sky. She was named after the moon, and she thought it was beautiful.
It shined up in the sky, reflecting light from the sun. Luna had learned many things about the sky.
Each star up there is its own celestial body. Each on is as big or bigger than the sun!
But it was so far away, it didn't hurt your eyes or appear too big!
And the moon! A giant satellite, floating in space. Massive and heavy, it reflects light from the sun.
When she was under the stars, it didn't hurt as much. The moon so big every day, like it was so heavy it was dropping from the sky.
    "Come back inside, honey."
Of course, she could never escape the hospital.
She was bound, shackled there. Every day, they would plug her with tubes and force her to stay still in that bed all night.
Her only consolation was her friend.
Luna called her friend Starfish, because she loved to go to the in-hospital tide pool.
There was a while when Starfish was trying to...
Well, Luna didn't like to talk about it.
And Starfish didn't do that anymore.
    So it was fine!
And the doctors never told them why they were here...
    But they're happy!
They even get to read books, and are allowed to go to our favorite places!
Like my hill, where I am right now!
"Come back on inside, it's getting late." One of the doctors said.
"But I like it when it's late! I can almost see the milky way!" Luna said drowsily.
"Luna... honey, are you okay?" One of the doctors said, running towards her and catching her right before she blacked out...
    ---
When Luna woke up, she was in a hospital bed next to Starfish.
    Starfish even brought her friend!
"I... I'll be fine..." Luna said, her eyes so heavy.
She had been here the longest, and her heart seemed so, so heavy.
She even thought she could see the moon through the roof of the hospital.
"I... just need to sleep. I'll wake up soon." She said. "You'll s-"

"Please, Dexter." Jackson said. "We aren't allowed to be here!"
"Come on, Jackson. It'll be fun!" Dexter said.
"That's what you said last time, and we got 2 weeks detention."
Today, Dexter and Jackson (Who were infamous across the faculty and students for going on 'adventures' into places they shouldn't be) were crawling into the schools basement, which was explicitly forbidden and had gotten students expelled in the past. But of course, Dexter didn't care. He never did. Jackson however, always cared.
"Yes, and this is how we're getting out of it." Dexter responded.
"By getting ourselves expelled?" Jackson asked. He really didn't know why he kept going on these adventures with Jackson. It never ended well.
"Well, they have to keep me in." Dexter's parent's will stated that this would be the school that he would go to. Apparently, Dexter had gotten into some fight with his parents where they called him reckless, but Dexter didn't like to talk about it.
"They can still expel me!" Jackson exclaimed.
"I wont let that happen. I'll take the blame, and they'll go easy on you like always." Dexter said calmly.
"This is still going too far! They have told us not to go in here multiple times! And how do we respond?"
"By going in here. It is the only logical option if they keep on trying to keep us away. There must be something real nice in here."
Jackson was about to respond, but he saw light at the end of the tunnel and decided to put down the argument. Dexter couldn't be convinced, and after all, the school doesn't even catch them most of the time. Dexter was probably right. We just had to get in and out, fast.
Dexter and Jackson crawled back out of the tunnel, into the light. It was however, a dim one.
"Its... A library? They're hiding a... secret library?" Dexter asked, confused. They were standing at the end of a dusty, cobweb ridden, library.
"A library." Jackson whispered in awe. "A secret library. I wonder what kind of books are in here. Why is it secret?"
"That is a very good question. Who would need to hide a library?" Dexter inquired.
Jackson turned to inspect one of the bookshelves. There's so many new books! There's one about ancient myths, The Real Truth, and even-wait.
Jackson turned over to the book. The Real Truth? What does it mean, The Real Truth?
"What kinda book you got there?" Dexter asked, walking up to Jackson.
    "I'm... not sure..." Jackson replied.
Dexter gasped. "The Real Truth? What does that mean?"
Jackson goes to open the book...
"Why are you kids back here?"
Jackson and Dexter turn, and see a janitor standing right there.
"You kids shouldn't be out here!" He exclaimed.
    ---
"So." The principle said. "You two broke another rule." He sighed.
Jackson looked nervously at Dexter. This isn't good.
Dexter just smiled back, seeming to say It'll be fine!
"Obviously, I cant expel Dexter, but, as per our rules, Jackson will have to be expelled." The principle said.
"WHAT!" Dexter jumped into the air. "You cant expel him!"
"I can and I will, Dexter." The principle said. "he broke the rules, and has no protections."
Jackson was just sitting there stunned. He couldn't speak. He just walked out of the room, Dexter still arguing with the principle.
    ---
"So, Jackson. Long time no see." Dexter said over the phone.
"Yeah, cause you got me expelled." Jackson replied bitterly.
"Come on, you cant still be mad about that!" Dexter said lightheartedly.
"Yes I can, Dexter, because YOU got ME EXPELLED from school!" Jackson exclaimed. "THIS WOULDN'T OF HAPPENED IF YOU WEREN'T THIS RECKLESS!"
Jackson stopped. He knew Dexter didn't like that, but right now he didn't care.
Jackson hung up. It was Dexter's fault. It was all Dexter's fault, and he deserved being called Reckless. It was all his fault.

She was at the beach. It was quite a lovely day, actually.
It is so lovely, a skeleton could be fighting a homicidal child.
She was at one of the tide pools.
Her feet were in the water, and She was staring down at the starfish. They comforted her.
    She remembered her parents.
They used to point out fun creatures that would tickle your fingers.
    I miss them.
They taught me about the water.
    And how magical it is.
The ocean, which harbors all these creatures until the get to the tide pool.
In fact, this beach was special.
It was known for its quickly rising tides.
    Here is was.
    The tide was rising fast.
She could join her parents in sweet oblivion.
"HEY! HEY! GET OUT OF THE WATER!" A lifeguard yelled at her.
But she felt safe now. Finally safe.
She could be back in her parent's arms.
    Safe again.
The lifeguard ran over to her, along with some helpful bystanders.
    They grabbed her arms.
No! I want to be with my parents!
She struggled in their grasp, trying to stay under the water.
In the end, they pulled her out,
But not after she was able to get a lot of blood in her system.
    She blacked out.
    ---
"It happened again. She has done this a lot, and there might not be a lifeguard next time to save her."
"What else are we to do?"
    "I... don't know."
She woke up. Gasping for breath, finally with the seawater out of her system.
"Are you okay?" One of the doctors asked.
"I... I am now." She replied.
"We would really like it if you didn't... er..." The doctor stuttered.
"Try to die?" She asked. "I wish I still had my parents. We don't all get what we want."
She got up, out of her hospital bed, and walked towards the aquarium they had in the hospital.
She stared into the tide pool, remembering what she had just tried.
The starfish looked up at her, almost like it was saying "You're gonna be ok. People die, but you have to move on."
"Yeah... Maybe I do..." She said.
    The starfish twinkled.
"Maybe..." She muttered. "Maybe I do..."
She down into the water, and a bright shining star reflected right over the starfish. Almost like it was the star itself.
