@RadiantNights: We use the term "Cosmere-awareness". I don't think it's an official term, though. @ArthurDent: Maybe a mod could edit that old post to change WoK to WoR. Otherwise people finding it will keep on getting misled.
  2. I think she could be in any of the non-warrior-type Orders, maybe an Elsecaller or a Truthwatcher.
  3. She's an ardent on Navani's team. She's the only one in WoR who seemed interested in the theoretical findings made by the spren researchers back in WoK, which I bet will be super important later on. I see her as the Rosharian version of the cute and talented (and slightly quirky) geekette who likes Science more than boys, and who is nonetheless/therefore sought after by male geeks.
  4. That's okay. A girl being asexual or even lesbian won't necessarily stop me from admiring her if she is awesome. Regarding the Dark One, the description of its magic system reminds me of both Hemalurgy (stealing souls) and fabrials (magical items). We've also seen electromagnetism-based Investiture before (Stormform lightning, electromagnetic wave manipulation via the Illumination Surge, etc.). Since even the ground is electrified in the Dark One's world, I guess that particular Shardworld's soul has a deep affinity towards electromagnetic Investiture. Under my Shardworld Essence theory, I'd say the world is a Spark one. (Please ignore if you don't subscribe to that theory.) By the way, do we know if this is a minor Shardworld or not?
  5. Is it Rushu?<- has a major crush on Rushu.
  6. Aw, well that's a shame. So Dalinar won't even learn how to use the Tension Surge until a later book?
  7. Once Peter finishes with the editing and uploads it, it should appear here: http://brandonsanderson.com/shardhunt-wor/
  8. Edit the first post. If you use the Full Editor, you should be able to change the title.
  9. You're right. I think it's a cool theory nonetheless. Also, I do feel Brandon's response would be a bit strange if the guy's theory was totally off.
  10. That... that is sparking AWESOME! Was that theory ever posted on the forums? That would be such a cool scene, Kaladin attracting lots of windspren again and then suddenly they merge around him and become Shardplate! Or something like that. We won't know exactly till Brandon shows us.
  11. So, was that a "yes"?
  12. Does anyone remember how fast it usually takes for them to post an unlockable? Do we have to wait until after the weekend?
  13. This is very near what I'm thinking of. I think Type V (or Type 0) entities are auto-initiated BioChromatic manifestations. They include everyone who has performed Self-Awakening, which is the use of a Command that targets the Awakener himself. I believe this type of Awakening has the risk of weakening the connection to one's own Breath/s.

    God Metal Alloys?

It's from the Allomancy poster that Brandon sells on his site. Not sure if it's also in the MAG.

    God Metal Alloys?

Maybe the physical part is that the body of the lerasium-burner is also changed so that it could withstand the toxic effects of some metals, not to mention the possible effects of "burning" said metals. I believe it's this WoB: The different ratios interpretation is of course valid speculation, but my own interpretation is that "way more than sixteen" refers to 16 atium-base alloys + 16 lerasium-base alloys + 16 lerasium-atium-base alloys = 48 alloys. In my list, I didn't bother including the lerasium-atium-base metal alloys (except the simplest: lerasium-atium-electrum) because I'm lazy. But I'll probably get to that one of these days. Edit: And I guess I'll also have to list the effect of harmonium on each metal. *sigh*
  16. Wax talks about magnetic metals and their alloys in Alloy of Law:
  17. Indeed it's nice. Also, it supports one of my Aether of Night theories (though of course I cannot say what it is here; it's in the White Sand conversation thread, though).

    God Metal Alloys?

I'm currently developing an extensive list of my own speculations regarding god metal alloys based on the principles I postulated in my god metals theory thread. I plan to make a thread for it after Shadows of Self comes out, but only if that book doesn't disprove my theory. In the meantime, it's in my Coppermind page. Edit: If you have questions or suggestions regarding that list, it might be best to put them here instead. I wouldn't want to hijack this thread.
  19. As a kid I was fascinated by the voice procedure in two-way radio communications. I think my 10-year-old self would wholeheartedly agree with Dawnslight's decision.
  20. I was thinking about this earlier, and I personally like the idea of a Stormlight tarot deck with both Minor and Major Arcana. The Minor Arcana can be used as regular playing cards. In my hypothetical Stormlight deck, each suit of the Minor Arcana would correspond to two Essences, like so: Cups/Hearts: Blood and Talus (a stone goblet filled with blood) Coins/Diamonds: Lucentia and Zephyr (spheres Invested during highstorms) Staves/Clubs: Spark and Vapor (a lit torch with smoke coming out of the fire) Swords/Spades: Tallow and Foil (a sword being oiled) (You'll find out why I didn't include Sinew and Pulp later.) For each suit, the King and Queen would be the Heralds for that suit's Essences (notice how I deliberately chose Essence-pairs with a male and a female Herald), holding their Honorblades. Instead of the typical Page and Knight cards, I will borrow from the Thoth deck and use Princess and Prince cards instead. The Princess card will show a female Knight of the female Herald's Order, while the Prince card will show a male Knight of the male Herald's Order. Here's what the Minor Arcana cards will look like (spoilered for length): As for the Major Arcana, here's what I have so far (spoilered for length): If you notice, I've placed the Heralds of Pulp and Sinew in the Major Arcana. This is because I believe Sinew has preeminence over the other Essences, and because the Knights associated with Pulp (Sinew's partner Essence), the Truthwatchers, are known for their precognitive abilities, which fits the typical use of Major Arcana cards in fortune-telling. Edit: I just realized how blasphemous a Heraldic tarot deck would be for Vorinism. Edit: So, apparently tarot decks don't have Jack cards. Instead they have Princess and Prince cards (or Page and Knight; but I prefer Princess/Prince because relegating a character to Page might insult fans). I've edited the post accordingly. Edit: Finally finished everything! I'm still open for suggested changes, though. Edit: Replaced the description for the Tower from the Shattered Plains location called the Tower to the tower of Urithiru. Also changed the Hanged Man from Axies to an anonymous bait for the Yu-Nerig. Because these feel more fitting in my opinion.
  21. @traceria: That's an awesome topic! Do you want to create a thread about it in the Stormlight Archives forum? That way we can all share our deck ideas.
  22. Ah, I didn't know that (or forgot, most likely). I know the Horneaters have Listener blood, so I have no idea why that didn't occur to me.
  23. He might remember one or two names, and that would be enough to make me happy. I guess the question can be rephrased into something more useful: "Will the people of Arelon begin to repopulate the three Outer Cities they've previously abandoned? What were the names of those cities?" That would be helpful, yes. But I'd be fine if the question was asked as is. Making Brandon choose a specific level of usefulness seems RAFO-bait to me.
  24. Obliteration had them too, though.
  25. Holy crem what did he write?! Are we going to see a Herdazian Dustbringer?! Was there a sort of Thunderclast-Knight Radiant romance somewhere in Roshar's past?! Do Herdazians have chasmfiend blood?!!! The guy said he's not "formally" a part of the 17th Shard, but I hope he creates an account soon so he could share the news.
