  1. Ahh… I see. That is… absolutely nonsensical. I take back my earlier comment; this is an absolute monstrosity. (Skip me)
  2. SAME (except the sophomore part, I’m not even a sophomore yet). When I was younger (like pre-covid), I had really long hair, and even though I was terrified to cut it I think it was definitely worth it. Of course, now I have it even shorter. It really is sometimes He sounds really cool! Although I know many people that would never refer to me as humble… I try
  3. If you think that is painful… let’s just say my schedule is even more messed up illogically. AND I have two - it changes every other week. I would add a photo but don’t have any readily available. (Skip me)
  4. Well, I guess since I was tagged… I got a new haircut recently, and it’s been growing on me. It makes me look more mature and just fits me better, in my opinion. My hair color is nice, too. I look younger than I am, which can be a real advantage sometimes (but can be annoying as well). As for psychologically, there is probably more here. I am really proud of my grades (all really high) and I’m a hard worker, often surpassing people above my age (and surprising people who think I’m even younger than I actually am ). I attribute a lot of my success to me not really being smarter than other people, just able to pick things up really quickly. I understand a new math unit after the first class. Finally, I feel like I have a good personality and I’m an outgoing person, even though I struggle to make friends and are often seen as a nerd. I am definitely not shy.
  5. I’m sorry, what was that? …
  6. You’re right . I’m sorry, I just saw it on your post and didn’t realize you were quoting someone else. My point, however, still stands.
  7. Yes… but personally I don’t believe that anything can be filled with itself (since the word filled, in my personal judgement, implies there is something to fill, meaning it is not all the substance that is filling). Basically, a drop of water is saturated with water, but a single molecule of water isn’t since it is made up of nothing other than a singular unit of water. (Interestingly, what you get out of this is a wet mass that is not actually made up of individually wet parts. It is. We know. Although as you probably also know, human behavior is rarely rational (at least by our common perception, but that is another matter). If people want to fight over a pointless and subjective argument, power to them! (And it’s fun) People here are mentioning a lot of subjectivity, and @Ookla the Arbiter rightfully pointed out how there are often discrepancies between how dictionaries define words and how they are actually used. Guys, everything will see those discrepancies, not just dictionaries. Without getting too philosophical, words aren’t real (yes, this is a callback to the philosophical debate earlier). We simply all agree they represent a certain thing, and so they do. What this debate is doing is it is forcing us to take a deep look at why we assign things meaning the way we do. If you thought a word meant something (let’s say X), and a dictionary tells you it means something else (let’s say Y), does that mean you have to change your way of thinking? Because it certainly meant X to you. Food for thought. To prove the fault ones of definitions: To be wet, something has to touch a liquid, the word touch implies physical contact, and since molecules are incapable of physical contact… nothing is wet!
  8. It’s been a while, but it would be interesting to try adapting Scylla…
  9. Why did you kidnap that guys puppy? Well… firsttheythrewthebombatmeandIwaslikeWHATsoIgrabbedthephoneandcalledmygirlfriendtobreakupbutherbutlerpickedupinsteadandatthatmomentIknewIwasgoingtobelatetomyparty
  10. Maybe? Never been to Wyoming, but the US can definitely seem like a different planet sometimes, especially with current events Edit: Actually, maybe I have been to Wyoming… is that where Yellowstone is?
  11. Cold. And distant. And full of bagels. Did I mention how cold it was?
  12. So… not exactly gay… but definitely confused. Maybe you guys can help me out? I think might be aro hetero, but I’m not really sure… I’m definitely physically attracted to people (suffice it to say I’m clearly not ace) but I don’t feel like I’ve ever really had a “crush” on anyone. It’s like, I find people hot, but nothing about their personality attracts me beyond just friendship. Maybe this is just me having high standards, but I can’t help but sometimes feel there’s something kind of wrong with me (as cliché as that sounds). So… yeah. That’s me. Thanks for reading, I’ve never actually told anyone this before, so I needed to get it down.
  13. Hero: A Monster parody Sung by Kaladin in the chasms in WoK. (Light spoilers for WoK, haven’t read WaT yet so no spoilers please)
  14. I’m happy for you, Hawks (or Thee Insane, not really sure). I hope it all works out for you! To being comfortable in your own body!
  15. It’s okay. Personally, I’ve always struggled with making friends, and that’s fine. Not everyone thinks the same way you do; it’s the way you see yourself that matters. I’ve seen a lot of posts about anxiety and feelings of worthlessness on this thread, and though this may not apply to you, you guys need to remember that You. Are. Special. There is no one in the world that is like you. Fitting in doesn’t mean being like everyone else; it means finding a place where you are accepted for who you are. And there will always be a place like that. I will admit, I have struggled with this feeling myself, but I have come out of it a more confident person knowing I am okay with who I am (most of the time, at least). The above applies to you as well. I can’t claim to know exactly how you feel, but I have struggled with (and sometimes still do) many of those feelings. I haven’t been diagnosed with anything, but that’s cause I tend to keep it all in my head. I have serious thanatophobia (fear of death, specifically oblivion, but haven’t told anyone before this) and struggle with a lot of self-esteem issues. All of you, please, no matter what the world throws at you; ACCEPT WHO YOU ARE. Because you are special. Thank you. (Sorry if this became a bit of a rant)
  16. Whose your favorite crem character? censored
  17. It really is. It’s a lot of work (although honestly that depends on how serious about it your school is, mine is pretty serious) but it all pays off in conference (when delegates from different schools come together to debate a topic). We could… we would have to adapt it a little, but we could make it work. Basically, how MUN works is each delegate (student) is assigned a country and committee (General Assembly, Security Council, UNDP, etc.) and a topic. For example, for my conference next week I will be representing Oman in the General Assembly with the topic of “Promoting Sustainable Frameworks for the Regulation of Artificial Intelligence”. To prepare for the conference, delegates research their topic, past international action, and their country’s position (this is where most of the work goes in). Finally, at the conference, all the delegates in the committee come together to debate the topic and pass resolutions, just like the real United Nations. This could all be simplified relatively easily for the Cosmere (although someone would need to put in the work to compile a topic and delegations). The hardest part would be finding people to participate.
  18. Hey, I was wondering if there were any other MUNers here at the Shard. I am relatively new to MUN but I’m traveling abroad for a conference next week. (For anyone who doesn’t know, MUN stands for Model United Nations. It’s a debate style thing where students take on the role of delegates in a committee and debate resolutions. It’s super cool) This can be a space to discuss experiences, current events or simply ask questions. Also: What would MUN look like in the Cosmere?
  19. What would it take for you to spend time with me? Fuzzy ferrets.
