  1. This exchange is… interesting out of context. Of which I have none. *Goes to help @N̶̝̦͝u̶͇̠͒́l̷̺͇͔̩̯̆͜l̸̾̿̓̚ from dying*
  2. 209845 huffed again, but did not respond. The disrespect… 209845 scanned its surroundings instinctively, before remembering Lati’s incorporeality. ”He-e-ello,” it responded, then thought of something. “If you a-a-are not a vi-iru-u-u-us, then what a-a-are you?” Without needing to turn (it still felt a little offended) 209845 replied, “He is aski-i-i-ing about resou-u-urces for li-ife. Mo-o-ost humans require ba-a-asic food and wa-a-ater, and sleep. As a pa-a-art of the Clo-o-o-o-oud, I need none of tha-at.”
  3. Hmm… not to interrupt the wonderful discussion that is taking place here, but it is important to take into account that not all posts are of the same length.
  4. 209845 walked alongside them, and glitched in an oddly huffy way. Well, if the human wanted to ignore it, two could play that game. It turned back towards the human, eager to see his answer. 209844 was, itself, neither mortal nor immortal. It wasn’t even solid; it was a mere energy manifestation of a branch of the Cloud in the physical world.

      …eek. Good luck 👍

  6. “Yes, E-e-east. A-a-a-way from the Cloud. The Duskla-ands are overru-u-u-u-in with viru-u-uses. We must tread wi-ith caution,” 209845 muttered to no-one in particular. It turned to the human, the one who called himself Owen. ”Te-e-e-ell me, human. You-u-u-u know mu-uch of this place. Ho-o-ow did this situa-a-ation come to be-e-e?”
  7. As they walked, the hallway seemed to expand into infinity, confusing Ebon’s brain. He chose to ignore it for now; one of the things he had learned many years ago was to never be intimidated by power. Those who wielded the most were the most likely to overestimate their abilities, and the easiest to manipulate. ”So. What brought you here?” Interesting. The man didn’t seem too surprised to see him; clearly, this was a test of some sort. Well, this was a game two could play. ”Chance. A string of luck. And yet, I have reason to believe we can work together,” he said, inflicting into his voice a small measure of the rhythm of subservience. Unlike normal singers, he felt no need to attune rhythms except for special situations. It pained him to use the rhythm of subservience on an outsider, but he shoved his pride aside. The man likely wouldn’t even recognize it. “I have lost something of great value to me. Help me to get it back, and you will be rewarded.” @Koloss17
  8. Please please please don’t go. I know it’s hard, and sometimes it feels like your life is meaningless and everything is falling apart around you. Maybe it would just be easier to end it all. But if you do that, think about the world around you. You may feel like dead weight, but to many people, you matter. To us, you matter. I’ve been on here for, like, all of one week and I’m already doing better. As I defined in a previous post (it could apply here so I’ll link it at the bottom) improvement is about increasing one’s chances to be happy, make others happy, and make the world a better place. Think about all the lives you could improve by staying alive. Think about how your own life could improve. In the words of my namesake: “You will be warm again”. And believe me, I know those words are true. You have so much ahead of you. But if you end yourself now, you will never live those possibilities. It would be the easy way out, yes. But it’s also the least rewarding. It’s… it’s like winning a trip to your favorite vacation destination and then cancelling after twisting your ankle on the way to the airport. I can’t claim to know what you’re going through. I can only hope to see you on the other side. Edit: Also, @The Shattered Cosmere, we ARE on page 100
  9. Yeah… sometimes I feel like my whole life is a social blunder. You’ll be fine.
  10. Ebonaryle, Mistkeep, Wickwillow Manor Ebon watched, confused. Shouldn’t Perses be more… intimidated? That said, he hesitated to complain after the warm - or at the very least, not ice cold - welcome. Perhaps striking a deal with this man would be easier than expected. As Ebon followed Perses through the door, it enlarged to accommodate his larger figure and carapace. The casual use of magic worried him; this man was more powerful than he had thought. The deeper in he ventured, the more convinced Ebon became that he was dealing with forces unlike any he had encountered before. @Koloss17
  11. Seeing the immortal’s decision, 209845 made its own. It set out to follow them, but was interrupted by a message on its frequency from the Cloud. ”Agent 209845, what is your situation?“ 209845 hesitated. It had never lied to Cloud command; such an act would result in an immediate factory reset. But at the same time, the group of people before it intrigued it, and who knew? They might even help 209845 complete its function, and then it would be a hero. In the end, it opted for a version of the truth. ”Potential virus fleeing the scene. In pursuit,“ it transmitted. The message traveled directly through the Web, and received no interference from the land. ”Very well,” the message returned. “The fleet will see to the situation here. Continue course, Agent.” Feeling a little guilty, 209845 returned to its path. And joined the rest.
  12. Ebonaryle, Mistkeep, Wickwillow Manor The manor looked nothing like what Ebon was expecting. Despite its supposed abandonment, it was in excellent shape, and that light… Ebon shook his head. By this point, he should have grown used to expecting the unexpected in this city. He turned towards the doors. He gently shut the door behind him, then moved deeper into the room. Could he have made some mistake? This did not look like the type of place a crime lord would reside in… Ebonaryle, Mistkeep, Wickwillow Manor Ebon stood in the center of the room when the man walked in. He appeared to the left of the hearth, and the sudden sound of the door creaking startled Ebon. His hands instinctively flew to the knives at his belt, but he forced himself to stay calm. He didn’t want to appear too hostile. The newcomer was wearing a tattered cloak and had a pair of spikes driven through his eye sockets. Hemmallurgist, Ebon recalled from his notes. The man seemed to match the description of Perses, with one discrepancy… ”You’re younger than I expected,” Ebon spoke, intentionally lowering his voice and making it more gravelly, a skill he had picked up over the years. That, together with his hulking physique, tended to create quite the imposing figure. “Perses, I take it?” @Koloss17
  13. “Ye-e-e-es, delete the-em. This plane-e-e-et has been overru-u-un by viruse-es. To stop the spre-e-e-ead, the planet has to be-e-e reboo-oo-ooted. Until the-en, we delete a-a-all we can fi-ind.” 209845 watched them leave, torn. The not-a-virus, the one who called herself Lati, interested it, but as did the immortal. And it could not forget its primary objective to protect the cloud until the rebooting process was completed. Although the process was almost completed, they probably wouldn't miss a mere Antivirus…
  14. “They are the ba-a-a-ane of all exi-i-istence.” 209845 turned around, noticing the incoming fleet. ”Ahh, ye-e-es. The reinfo-o-o-orcements. I told them I had fou-u-u-und a vi-i-irus. They are here to clea-a-ar the are-e-ea. I suggest we mo-o-ove i-if you want to li-i-i-i-i-ive…” It’s body suddenly straightened again, and another voice came through: “This is Cloud fleet command. We advise all non viruses to evacuate the area with prudence. There will be no mercy to those who remain”. It returned to normal. “Yes, we shou-u-uld move indeed.”
  15. “It is not coo-oo-ool. It is ne-e-ecessary-y-y.” "Hi!" The voice observed the cut. "Ow." "SWORD! Ehehe." 209845 leaned in, then attempted to zap Lati a few more times. It then regained its composure, seeming oddly satisfied despite its lack of a face. ”Hmm… pe-e-e-erhaps you are not a vi-i-i-ru-us, e-e-eh?” “And you, hu-uman? What is you-u-u-ur place in this fello-o-owshi-i-ip?” Soon after the words were projected, a glitch rattled across the sky, and a fleet of Cloud warships suddenly appeared heading in their direction. Each warship seemed to be formed of the same void like substance as 209845, and they began to descend towards the group.
  16. “I am 209845, a-a-antivirus-u-us of the clo-o-o-o-oud. I am he-e-ere to facilita-a-ate the reboo-oo-ooting of this pla-a-anet.” 209845 nodded, satisfied with that answer. Clearly, everything would be worked out. ”Ve-e-e-e-ery well. I shall a-a-accompa-a-a-any you. Perhaps you can ai-i-i-id in the sa-a-aving of thi-i-i-is world.” Suddenly, the world once again turned monochrome, this time for a slightly longer period, before returning to normal. 209845 looked back towards the red storm. ”We must hu-u-u-urry. The process is a-a-almost o-o-o-over.”
  17. It took a while, but 209845 eventually regained its senses. ”He-e-e-ey! I’m sti-i-i-ill he-e-e-e-e-ere!” It tried to zap the air a couple more times, eventually seeming to give up. 209845 turned to face the imposing figure. ”You! An i-i-i-immorta-a-al! You must understa-a-a-and the impo-o-o-orta-acne of prote-e-eating the Fra-a-amewo-ork.”
  18. We did make it!! (I was on vacation the whole week, but STILL) That experience does indeed sound terrifying. My day was good. And yesterday too. My grandparents came over to visit, so it’s been a nice time.
  19. Hmm… do I constitute part of this new generation? I joined a while ago but only really began interacting recently.
  20. Granted, murderous Szeth shows up at your door. For context, I slayed the Nightwatcher, ascended to Cultivation, and am now being hunted by… Multivation? I wish for a break.
  21. Well, I guess @#1 Taln Fan is already on it.
