I think, given the right circumstances, they can grow to recognize their sapience - they all have a basic moral code aligned with their intent.

Okokok Combat for sword willl come with one general format: With ya sword, ya press one button (been thinking right mouse button [rmb]) to enter Light Stance, or the other (Lmb) to enter Heavy Stance After that, lmb for the stance’s associated block/defend And rmb for the stances associated attack. For example, lmb lmb would be a heavy block - smt like directly taking the brunt of an attack But rmb lmb would be a lighter defend - like you dodge or push the blow away. Then lmb rmb would be a heavier attack - something like a lunge or a downward blow. rmb rmb would be a light attack - simple slash. And then certain weapons (smt like a greatsword) - it’s to heavy to go light - and same for smt like a dagger or short sword. I was also thinking of trick weapons - something like a hooked blade, and if you lunge then go to light stance, it inflicts bleed, etc. Okokok I need help with the logistics of this. Yea, there are stances, but once an attack is made, how do you switch? Stuff like that. (Also Art. Guys I had Idea For a videogame. I need support to start creating it - help me! Okokokokokok Soulslike - the only *good* genre (joking) But it do be a soulslike. And Ok Sword-based combat (wonder what could have given that idea) Plot of game (cuz that’s what’s important) The main character is initially part of an organization called the Hands of the Plague - divided into divisions of importance (Plague Masters at top, Plague Thrall at the bottom) But these people focus on spreading the contagion and curing the contagion - they believe it to be an act of divinity from a being named Thuil, the Plagued. But anyways, the plague isn’t actually all that contagious (and may or may not be magic) - it’s just very deadly. Soooo… they consider themselves the Will of Thuil. Anyways, outside of that, there is other magic - the Olentian Dynasty “ruled” the land, but when the King contracted the plague, he went into hiding as his powers were significantly weakened. Because of this, the Barons squabbled over what they could get - but most of them were killed by those seeking power. Plague Master Rella was a Baroness, believing that she could claim the throne - but no one knows that she is a baroness. However, she sends the player (a lowly thrall) in a team to kill the king - and the utterly fail. He is still powerful, yes? Everyone in the team dies except the player. And then the king dies. Unknown reasons, but no one steps forward to claim the throne - so then people start to fight for it. When Rella hears that the player is still alive, she believes them to have killed the king, and thinks they a threat - proof of this could rally the people to the players cause. (Hint hint hint it doesn’t and the player spends the rest of the game first defending against the Plague and then eventually fighting the plague.) I’ve got a bit more, but nothing set in stone… (well there are details about how the combat would work. Y’all want that?)

I think it Just depends Like - the powers are obviously sentient, right? And they have some memory of what happened before. But they are also… like… little babies. Young. Sooooo… they prolly have difficulty remembering with all exactitude, ye? They were likely born at the point of the shattering - not before (ie adonalsium is a parent, sorta like a spren doesn’t share Honor’s memory) and it is also a matter of what they choose to share.
