Deadeyes without shardblades?
Through the Living Hopper replied to Xabben's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't think they become a deadeye before the 3rd ideal. If I remember right, a 1st or 2nd Radiant is considering abandoning their oath somewhere in the books and they say it won't make them a deadeye. -
Why did you just make me click on all of those spoiler boxes?

How do you imagine your fellow Sharders?

How do you guys imagine me? -
Welcome to the Shard! You've arrived at the best place on the Internet, filled with the best people and the best desserts! Here are a couple of tips to help you settle in to your new place as a cog in the Grand Apparatus that is the Shard! 1. Join S(anderson) E(limination) (a fun Sanderson roleplay mafia game). 2. Familiarize yourself with the most important forums: SE, Cosmere Q&A, and SE. 3. Tell us exactly which books you have and haven't read (this helps us avoid spoilers) 4. HAVE FUN! Make friends! 5. After the stock welcome, Welcome! We're so glad do have you! The Shard is genuinely amazing (you'd be hard-pressed to find a more positive place on the Internet)! However, there is one cold-hearted, murdering Arctic animal you really need to watch out for. WELCOME!

Folks who can Code
Through the Living Hopper replied to KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
I enter the conversation: The companies themselves are not encouraging suicide. If you are talking about what I think you're talking about (and if you're not, feel free to tell me) the issue is that people start to see AI as a friend. However, AI is just code, and inherently logical and can't fully replicate emotion. What happens is people in mental distress will try to talk to the AI, which can't understand how they're feeling. It tries to logically "talk them down," which doesn't work. Yes, AI can be destructive to the environment, but most technologies have been before, and we learned each time how to not have that happen. If AI allows you to get more work done because you don't have to debug as much, I think that's wonderful. Developers should learn to debug, of course, but if coding a huge project takes 100 days of coding and 600 of debugging and AI makes it 80 and 10, that's a plus in anyone's book. The problem of AI stealing copyrighted material is an issue, though, and I won't fight you on that.- 149 replies

Suggestion - other ways to gain reputation
Through the Living Hopper replied to Deception's topic in 17th Shard Discussion
I don't think this is a great idea, because there are some posts that get, by nature, a lot of replies. With this system, the person who made tLT would get God Beyond. At the same time, capping it makes it worthless. -
Why do the Radiants have 5 oaths?
Through the Living Hopper replied to Deception's question in Cosmere Q&A
That's where it says that Skybreaker spren also swear oaths, but where does it say the others don't? -

Why do the Radiants have 5 oaths?
Through the Living Hopper replied to Deception's question in Cosmere Q&A
Wouldn't it be Warlight Archive? It might be because the human makes 5 oaths and the spren makes another 5 at the same time. -
I don't like this at all. I've seen a lot of this gambit (exe me, you won't), and it's almost always e!indicative, unless it's a newer player. That being said, I'm hesitant on mylti-cycle trains, and I can see this situation going either way: e!Myst or coinshot/any valuable role Myst (which doesn't make a lot of sense unless the elims have a Seeker).

One word stories: Lift vs a pizza

Once there never existed -
I'm inclined to believe the second option. It seems like the Tineye could be more effective at helping the elims and they are village. Striker. @StrikerEZ, explain yourself. Is there any truth to this? --------- Hopper opened SE. He felt bad about his absence, but it couldn't be avoided. In fact... Wait. Something was wrong. He got the sense that there was something bad happening. A storm was brewing.

Duhgg stepped out of Shadesmar and onto the surface. It felt good to be on solid dirt again. "Time to start the killing!" He said cheerfully to his comrades. To me it seems we should start Shardworld-claiming so that there are no surprises. That way, we can keep track of who has how much Investiture. Part of the fun of this game is playing it in this context, because we never get to play like this. I see your point, but...eh
