I'm doubtful that Jasnah soulcast a copy of herself. If she had time to do so why would she bother with that and not just destroy her enemies as she did in the alley. For that matter why not just kill them with her shardblade? My guess is that her door was sabotaged by 'the new guy' which allowed her attackers to sneak up on her while sleeping. Suffering great wounds she passes out, but stormlight begins to heal her. She comes too as Shallan's illusion runs past. She is weak and unable to fight and knows the knoweldge she possesses must be preserved no matter the cost and either by skill or sheer luck manages to Transport herself off the ship. Thus when Shallan crawls back into the hallway and into Jasnah's room her body is missing (a copy would have still been in the hallway).

I was trying to think of crazy things when I first read it, mainly due to panic.. like her soulcasting a copy or hoping transportation was like Tesla's machine in The Prestige Stormlight healing seems a bit too easy but its likely just that simple.

Pattern does mention to Shallan that "Perhaps if their knights still lived, something could be done . . .". This is most likely foreshadowing for events later in the book but I do have some hopes that perhaps new people can revive the 'dead' spren. If they can Its likely going to be very difficult. Its most likely that the bonded spren creates both Blade and Plate which would mean you may need both the original blade and plate of the dead spren to bring it back. Edit: its in chatper 75 Sorin.

Yep, though at the time of reading i was still distraught over Jasnah and was trying to come up with crazy theories. Like maybe Jasnah had a statue of her sculpted and then soulcast it to flesh... I know its nuts but I was not thinking clearly ;p

Another indication that Truthcallers are #5 is one of Shallans drawings which could indicated Illumination giving the ability to see events happening elsewhere , past, present or future.

I agree it was likely switched out. I was just pointing out a few things I found a bit odd. Did Dalinar mention the blade screaming at all before speaking his Oaths? As for the description of the blade, we don't know if Honorblades always retain the same shape. I will need to go back and look at any descriptions we have of Jezrien's blade vs Szeth. I know Kaladin makes mention of it being a 'unornamented blade' near the end.

HAHA well between waiting for the book to release and reading straight through i was up for nearly 30 hours so I guess my brain is working a bit slow.

I agree this can feel annoying sometimes. The main problem is that with multi pov books we know what everyone knows so its easy for us to say 'hey just talk and it will all work out!' Try to put yourselves in the charcters shoes and understand why they aren't talking. This is what I try to do and it usually helps me feel less annoyed.

Shallan is obviously very good at lying to herself so who knows what the truth is about her past but some trama before killing her mother seems likely. There's always another secret.
