    Yeah Well there was no shot with the guy anyway And I traded it for another job at my dojo, so not too bad. Just two months of reduced income, operating solely on my other job. End of this month is my first paycheck for the new job again, and then I'm back to normal

    I wasn't able to see him anymore. The job we had had to stop due to lack of funding, so now he's back to doing his thing and I'm back to doing mine. Our paths only cross at big dojo events now

    *hugs* Nah this thread has been quiet Well, not really much help can be given. I've confirmed she doesn't like me back, so I'm just kinda enjoying talking to her. Still panicking though cause what else does one do? Yeah that ain't happening

    *hugs* That's rough, I'm sorry Honestly, the best thing you can do is just affirm the things she doesn't believe. Like, that needing meds doesn't make her a failure, and stuff like that. Also checking up on her, seeing how she's doing and listening to her, letting her know she can talk to you (if you're comfortable taking that on)

    Dark Cep holds out a hand to stop them. "Are you ready to do this now? And if so, I should anchor this here. I have no wish to be dragged along. And you," he says, turning to Taeidin ( @Ashkaloda ). "Will you accompany them? Or do you have your own quest to follow?"

    Dark Cep nods. "I- I don't know how. Nor does my Author. That's how he's done it this time. If your Author wants to determine his own way...that might be better, honestly."

    "I don't have all the answers. My Author deliberately withholds those from me. But I do know he would like very much not to let Cep die. At the same time, if he isn't saved, I fear it would make good plot to have Aeryn kill him. Unless he is saved."

    Asharak finally felt his Author's attention turn back to him. He needed to have a conversation with him about that later; Asharak was often left hanging, particularly when not involved in other plots. For now, though, he would take the time he had. He walked inside the house. The old man was still reclined in his chair, but now he seemed almost unnaturally still. His chest barely rose and fell. He turned his head a fraction as Asharak entered. "Ahh," he rasped, eyes still closed. "Good. Just...just in the nick...of time." He had to pause to breathe in every few syllables. "Good. Just remember...what you know. Trust...above all else...your heart. Let it...guide...your actions. And...know...the limitations. You can never...be...where you need...to be...before the time is right. And...you might...be late. Know this." He heaved a long, shallow sigh. "And now...my time has passed. I have...served...my purpose." He breathed a last breath and faded out. Asharak bowed his head briefly in respect, then stepped to the fireplace, which now lay cold and empty. He reached up, and reverently, carefully pulled down the ornate blade hanging there. As he grabbed it shrank, becoming a simple katana. Yet the air around it almost seemed to warp, and it frequently seemed to shift slightly in space. Asharak summoned a sheath for it, and slid it in. There. That felt right. It also felt right to walk out, though he could have just blinked out of existence. As he strode out, first the house, and then the entire clearing, faded away behind him, as if it had never been there at all. "Then he is lost."

    Dark Cep frowns. "But you must. You're the only one who might be able to pull this off. None of us can. Aeryn would kill us on sight. You have a chance to slip by, perceived as a miniscule nothing."
