If you gave me the world
You still would have been faced with worse
Cause I like my bridges burned
You've always liked them over water,
Now you're stranded on a beach miles away from any harbor
SpoilerNot mine. Sad.

Story idea for you writer types (also if I've accidentally stolen this from something please tell me so I can either be an idiot or go read it)
Setting: modern or dystopian probably
Old rich guy dies and leaves his house to be left open to the public along with the message: there's always another secret (or some version that doesn't steal from Brandon).
Nobody knows what to make of the message, but then a few years later somebody accidentally bumps a specific spot of wall and opens a compartment holding a note that tells of either an event that just happened or something that happens soon after.
Maybe along with the note is a cryptic clue, which, after some more time, is found to lead to another note seemingly foretelling the future (since it's past the guy's death), along with another clue. And so on.
Or maybe there are no clues, and they just happen to be found at the right time
And then some more stuff happens that I don't really have ideas about
Go forth, and write. Or not.

I imagine them realizing this stuff foretells things and trying to search the house for clues, but it's protected by a veritable army and they don't want to risk destroying the clues
So everybody, including the government and military, has to react quickly anytime a note is found. So the notes are more backdrop for front events
