It would be futile, sure, but it would certainly feel good.

    The man screamed, falling, as two more guards rushed in with swords, both striking, each with some skill. A blond man appeared outside of the ring, regarding the battle with amusement. "Who are you, exactly?" he said, sneering. Cricket pounded against the metal walls of his cell, screaming. He needed to get out, needed to protect Rose... "Please, please, please!" he found himself crying, as his fists began to bleed from their battering.

    One of the guards strode forward. "Sandlocke dealt with him, just like he'll deal with you. He'll be back soon." he lunged forward with his spear, trying to skewer her.

    Cricket breathed. Great. They had a Narrator. Wait, he was an Enuller. He could handle this. Right? Sometimes it was hard to forget he held power over beings who... Suddenly, Cricket was very small, and couldn't breath. He was in some sort of box. Who had teleported him? He tried to teleport out, but something blocked him. His Enulling was also blocked. He heard a voice in his ear. "Try your tricks, little Enuller. It won't work." Back at the fort, Rose was surrounded by guards, all of whom were edging in with their spears, still wary. Cricket had disappeared. maaaaybe....

    One of the soldiers charged forward, but Cricket stepped between him and her, sticking a foot out and tripping him. The other soldiers remained hesitant, spears at the ready. "You're not the only Narrator." one hissed. "We've got Sandlocke. And he's dangerous." The man toppled sideways, dead. The other hunters murmured amongst themselves, gazing at Malevolence. --- He hissed, dropping Endings. "You'll never win." he panted. "I'm nothing compared to the strength of Surtur. I'm..." Perseus emerged from behind the elephant, ax in hand. He raised it overhead, bringing it down on the Shade, cleanly hacking through it even as he spoke.

    He grimaced, looking around. "Fine." he whispered. "But don't you dare get hurt." With that, he teleported them both to the top of the battlements, where a dozen guards were waiting.
