    Cricket nodded. Is there... anything I need to know about him before we get deeper? People were kinda vague about what happened.

    Cricket frowned. Shoe... why did you let this guy just go back to his house exactly? he said, as he looked around for windows. Those might help.

    Cricket smiled back, but quickly put out his hand. He had tried to comfort her and it had worked. He hated using his powers, though they were necessary sometimes. Cricket looked around curiously.

    Cricket nodded. "That man won't try anything, at least while I'm there." he said, making his hand Enuller black.

    "Thanks." Cricket looked at it, wincing. It seemed... strange.

    "Hey, relax. You don't even need to talk to your dad, if you don't want. We can do that. And we'll make sure he doesn't do whatever he did before." Cricket had only caught hints, but what happened earlier had seemed disturbing.

    Atreides smiled, and teleporting them both into the storm above. The winds whipped them, but Atreides just laughed, hovering there. "Do you know my titles, Avatar? Emperor of the Universe, Lord of Blades, but also... King of the Winds." he said, watching as wind spirits swirled around them, several being absorbed by his blade, which pulsed with energy. "This is my domain, Avatar. Fight me." "Let's make this fast. Your dad doesn't exactly seem like the nicest guy around."

    I'm the one who suggested a link, and I asked you first. It's my fault, completely. I should've just figured it out on my own.

    Cricket sighed, getting up. What happened now? He had failed with the Dreamsmith and he had no way of going forward. Tam, I... he breathed in. I think I'm going to stay with everybody for a while. We can handle the hunters, and I need time to reevaluate my strategy to finding the hunters' master.

    Trellin appeared suddenly. "Hey, where am I?" he asked.

    Feren looked up, wincing. "Uh, hey?" he offered. Making friends with guards would get him out easier.

    "Oh, it's nothing. Listen, from what I'm hearing, your dad seems horrible, and we should probably go get your siblings."

    Cricket grimaced. "No. It's not. What happened to you guys?"

    Feren stared at the new prisoner. He seemed calm, almost serene.

    A guard opened his door. "Well, if it isn't mister high and mighty?" one of them laughed. "Saw you in the lunch line yesterday, waiting quietly and patiently, well everybody else was jostling about." He clapped handcuffs on him too, taking him into the hall, where Feren was.

    "Yeah. They weren't real people, but they could've been. I killed them without bothering to wonder who they were. They needed to die. So I killed them. But... I don't know, I still feel like a monster."

    Cricket sighed. "I... failed." he said, simply. "and killed more people."

    Cricket nodded, gulping. What had he done in the trial? is she saying this to Perseus via connection or as just a thought to herself? Cricket nodded, turning away and making a portal. Let's find Shoe and Beosta and the others. I need some time to think. All this time I had a plan. Get to the Dreamsmith, go find the master and kill him. Now, I don't know. he admitted.

    Feren sighed, leaning against the cell. Colors. It had been two weeks since the guards had caught him, and he still wasn't getting used to his prison cell. The guards didn't like Awakeners apparently. There was a knock on his cell door, and Feran shifted. The door opened revealing two guards in silver uniforms. "The Warden is giving an address, Awakener." one said, clapping a pair of aluminum handcuffs onto him.
