"What about apple pie?" he asked. It was sort of dessert, but he deserved something good after nearly dying twice and burying his own brother.

And what do you want to eat? We have basically anything." "A coat and three waters, coming your way. Anything else?"

    "Oh?" she leaned in, interested. "Of course. And you?" she said, turning to Bat and Cricket. "Something strong." he replied. "I've had a crazy day." "Oh!" she said, turning bright red. "While, sir, it's me. Me and Julian are getting married tomorrow." Across the table, Cricket laughed. "Tempest! That's great!"

    She smiled. "Of course!" she said, leading them to a table in the far corner. "What do you want to drink?"

    "Perfect. Do you guys want dinner first or just to go out there?" she frowned. "Do y'all have any luggage?"

Sorry, but if you want to sleep here, that's your only option. It'll be warm though, and you'll have plenty of blankets." "That's weird." she said, collecting mugs from a table. "Are you okay? You seem kinda pale."

    I like the idea for the prisoner. I'll just call him Ferran for rn. another idea, it would be cool for Anna and Ferren to have clashing ideals, him valuing laws and her freedom maybe?

    She smiled. "Hi. Are those... tattoos?" she asked pointing. "I can barely see them. Whoever did it was really bat at his job." I'm not sure. Whatever was on that dagger, it did something. She looked at her and took her hand. "Tempest. Tempest Entreri. My aunt's the healer. Why are you guys here?"

    Cricket knocked once and the front door and it was opened immediately. They were led into a massive room, with tables all around and a bar at one end. A couple feet from them was an olive skinned woman with a long tangled braid, serving drinks and chatting with customers, upon seeing them, she walked over. "Cricket?" she asked, astonished. "It's been five years! How are you doing?" before he could answer, she hugged him tightly. "Tempest." he said, uncomfortable. "Listen, about last time...." "Forget last time." she interrupted. "Mother Entreri is in the back. She's sick, but she can see you. What happened to your eye? Never mind, I forgot who I was talking to." she laughed. "So, who are these people?" Cricket laughed. "Bat, you're a marvel."

    "All right." he said, shooting Rose one last glance, and opened a portal. Even the middle of the night, in the middle of the countryside, the Waygate Inn was bustling. It was a friendly building, with three stories, and light shining and merry voices echoing from it. The path up to it was lined with wildflowers, and the entire house gave a sense of peace and happiness. "Welcome to the Waygate Inn." Cricket said, smiling, leading them up the path.

    good good good for the other prisoner being rescued, he was born in the same village as the operative and was friends with her, but quietly climbed through the ranks as a tactical genius. He's honest, and caring, though has become exhausted with warfare, and has started to hate fighting. good?

    "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing." he said, though he didn't think Bat would care very much if he'd missed. "There's a healer, named Mother Entreri. She runs an inn and cares for the sick. She took care of me a couple years ago, after..." he grimaced. "a particularly nasty accident. She's got a nice place, and wouldn't mind us staying there."

    Cricket got up, nodding. She was a jerk to Bat anyway. "Where are we going, exactly?" he whispered to Tam. "My hideout is kinda destroyed." Tam is so awesome. Cricket stared at her. She was amazing. He sighed, picking himself up, and with blinding speed, seized a knife out of his pocket, hurling it right at Rose, so it barely nicked her ear, slamming into the ground behind her.

    Cricket sighed and stood. "If you had, you'd be dead." he said, which probably would've sounded a lot more impressive if he hadn't yawned midway through. He didn't mean it, of course. yah but Tam healed over the wound remember?
