    Malan raised an Enulling shield around him, screaming as the fire blazed along the shield. When the blast ended, the shield barely held, Malan looking pale inside. "You cannot kill me." he said softly. "I am more powerful than you can imagine."

    "Oh." he said, picking a blade out of the ground experimentally. "I used to have a blade. Kinda like this, only longer and sharper."

    Malan gazed upwards, unconcerned. "Is this the best you can do?" he said, shooting him again.

    "What? I don't know. I'm new here. Also I'm not Gleye."

    “Matthew.” he interrupted. “And… I don’t remember. Somewhere. I remember a room though. And a knife.” he added brightly. “Any ideas?” Cricket sighed, yelling some words that were fortunately drowned out by the thunder. Malan fired a bullet at Love.

    They were on an orange rocky plateau that stretched as far as eye could see. “I… Okay.” he decided. Also, his name was Matthew. His Author had finally begun to envision him.
