  1. Not when you fly. Being lighter allows you to push yourself off the ground farther, as we've seen Wax due multiple times. I'd also imagine that being lighter would allow you to pull yourself into objects you wouldn't be able to if you were heavier.
  2. Is this confirmed? Didn't Brandon once said something about there being more than 50 metals but less than infinity?
  3. Doubt it. In AOL, Wax was kind enough to explain that making an alloy of a metal creates an entirely different metal.
  4. Tnx, finally an answer that makes sense. Liked the analogy on turning off a switch.
  5. Hmm seems like I looked to the left instead the right. See the left of my posts says -1 in a red box, and I mistakenly thought all my posts were downvoted when in reality it kept showing that -1 because I had -1 points total. Then I realized the ratings for each post are on the right. Anyway, the downvote that started all of this wasn't in place I think. In my opinion, the whole rating system in these forums is pretty broken and prone to abuse but that's just me.
  6. And you couldn't expalin this without rating down my post? Rating down posts that ask questions would make people not want to ask questions. Then again maybe you want people to stop asking and if so, carry on. Edit: Real mature, rating down all my posts. Well two can play that game.
  7. Maybe, but sometimes you gain advantages without sacrificing anything. Storing weight and becoming light which could be useful is one example. Another one is eating whatever your want without gaining weight. Another? cooling yourself when it's hot outside. The appropriate ferrings can gain all of these useful traits and more without actually losing anything in return. Actually the opposite is true: After they store they can tap, which is also useful. So you get good+good for some of the metals, not bad+good.
  8. For example, when you store gold you get sick. But when you stop storing it, the sickness you were in just a second ago vanishes. Poof. And now you can heal whenever you want. If it was really end-neutral, you would remain sick after storing and could only return to the starting point by tapping. I understand that this way most metals would be completely useless for feruchemy so obviously it needs to work the way it does now, but you can't really call it end-neutral, can you?
  9. Fixed. Unless the non-breathing effects are the same.
  10. Just got to the part in Alloy of Law when Miles thinks about how he doesn't need to breathe while tapping his metalmind. So gaspers are basically strictly worse...? Unless, of course, only a gold compounder doesn't need to breathe...?
  11. Dude, black hole, really? First of all, an object has to compress in order to become a black hole, not expand. Also, have you any idea what magnitudes are we talking about? For out Earth to become a black hole, for example, it would have to be compressed to the size of a grain of sand. Also, Sazed had trouble moving while tapping pewter because he wasn't burning it. Burning pewter increases your speed and agility.

    Kandra tell?

As I said, she was paying attention to Elend. Also, the duralamin-entanced bronze overwhelmed her. I bet it was hard enough focusing on Elend alone, let alone realize what else was happening. P.S. Very odd that she needed duralumin to detect the emotions targeted. Marsh didn't need it, and he didn't even have double bronze.

    Kandra tell?

Marsh told Vin that it was possible to detect what emotions soothers/rioters are targeting, and Marsh didn't have duralumin or even double bronze. And even if that did happen like you said, was a kandra even around at the time? Even if so, Vin was paying attention to Elend as you said, so she might have missed the kandra beat.

    Kandra tell?

Maybe the secret is to simply burn bronze with duralumin? Vin never tried that.
  15. Well, in a modern setting genetic engineering can be used maybe?
  16. Doubt he would go with feruchemist, as all ferrings are feruchemists but not all feruchemists are ferring. It's the same with allomancy (all mistings are allomancers but not all allomancers are mistings).
  17. Well, if we go by Misting and Mistborn, then we should have Ferring and... Ferrborn? Doesn't sound as cool, but still...
  18. Were there only full feruchemists? And also, how are full feruchemsits called? in the wiki page about feruchemy it says Like Mistborn and Mistings, there are Feruchemists that can utilize one or all of the metals. The former are known as "Ferrings". What about the latter?
  19. more or less
  20. Changed the silver alloys to other alloys.
  21. Brandon said there could be more than 16, right? So here are 4 I came up with: (sorry for no feruchemy, I'm all out of ideas for them) Gallium Composition: Gallium Allomancy: Pyro mistings can burn gallium to manipulate and control fire. This includes, but not limited to- making existing flames bigger or smalller; levitating flames, and even shooting them out as fireballs. Galfenol Composition: Gallium & Iron Allomancy: Hydro mistings can burn Galfenol to manipulate and control water. This includes, but not limited to- freezing existing water to ice; thawing ice to water; levitating, moving and shaping water and ice. Cobalt Composition: Cobalt Allomancy: Aero mistings can burn cobalt to manipulate and control air. This includes, but not limited to- producing wind; using wind to increase the allomancer's agility, speed and jump height and even running on vertical surfaces via wind support. Vitallium Composition: Cobalt & Chromium Allomancy: Geo mistings can burn vitallium to manipulate and control earth. This includes, but not limited to- levitating, moving and shaping earth, sand and rocks; sensing vibrations in the ground.
  22. Added an atium/lerasium alloy. P.S. I just realized something: Aren't the abilities of repulsers and magnets can be replicated by coishots and lurchers?
  23. Well that's because pulls and pushes have everything to do with the allomancer's weight. Not sure about jumping though.
  24. 1. I think duralumin/nicrosil+bendalloy would just stop time completely for a few short seconds, which is kind of useless as flaring bendalloy already stops it almost completely for all intents and purposes, only for much longer than when super charging it. I highly doubt it can reverse time. Also it might make the bubble bigger? 2. I think that super charging cadmium would just fast forward all the time a normal burn would do, but in an instant. So for example if you had enough cadmium to compress an hour into a minute, you would end up compressing that hour into a second instead. 3. I have no idea what would happen with multiple nicrobursts or with a nicrobursts nicro'ing a mistborn burning duralumin. Maybe they stack, maybe the don't. I'd like to think that they do, because that would mean we could see some epic feats.
  25. Hmm, can storing weight and becoming light allow you to jump really high?
