  1. You could halt poison, I suppose. Or stop bleeding for a bit. I don’t have a lot for this one. You know you’re in this hypothetical scenario I’m describing.
  2. Nick blinks, having waited slightly too long. He goes up to the media and police, saying, with considerable melodrama, “Hello, my name is Nick Bryer. On behalf of myself and the others kidnapped and placed in the Teleportations game show, I’d like to file several charges against Telecorp and Ardaklin Udayorsh, including but not limited to imprisonment, kidnapping, exposure to dangerous locations, filming and selling footage of myself and others without permission, reckless use of experimental technology without permission, attempted murder via hired assassins, and the arguable death of my physical body. I also suspect, but have little proof of, insurance fraud, endangerment of employees, bribery, and corruption.” @The Stormfather
  3. Nick waits for @Halcyon The Only, not sure who would be best to lead.
  4. “Yes, I’ve heard you both are dead. Such a state seems to be less final than either of you assumed. I constructed you a body and retrieved your soul.” He smiles. “As for your final question, I am Rebus. Supposedly, you were able to overthrow your Author; I was curious about how such a thing could be done.”
  5. Nick smiles in thanks, then walks around the building.
  6. He hovers in the air, hoping the Calmsight will allow him to spot Fear, without Fear spotting him.
  7. Rebus smirks at the silly Author who thinks himself concealed by the fourth wall. Then he smiles more welcomingly at Ryss, offering a handshake. “My name is Rebus. It’s interesting to meet you, Ryss.”
  8. Cole continues flying, getting close to the Fields. “I’m going as fast as I know how. Although I might stop for pie…”
  9. Rebus laughs. “As interesting though cliche those things are, I have a faster way.” Nanomachines knit a body together out of air, the head containing several soul containers and attractors. “That should let Ryss come back from the Land of Dreams, at least for a moment. I have a proposition for him.”
  10. Clarification: the power is that you know what people expect you to do.
  11. I’d take a revolving door, hook it up to a dynamo, and then alternate closing the two sides. This should result in the door spinning, granting free energy. You know what people expect you to do.
  12. Rebus raises an eyebrow at the suggestion. “What would that entail?”
  13. Thank you! Rebus doesn’t necessarily need to talk to Ryss himself, if you don’t want to bring him back.
  14. My Narrator, Rebus, wants to hear how Ryss managed to overthrow his Author.
  15. Dr. Warren waits for him, knowing he’ll open up to her eventually.
  16. “If you truly do believe you don’t need a medical examination, we can talk about anything you’d like. I will be recording any societal information, but I can keep your own life and details private.” While she talks, she gathers the plates and sets them in the corner of the room.
  17. Hello, and welcome to the shard! I, too, enjoy solving rubix cubes and variations of them, though I’m not the fastest at it (I have a friend with an 8 second 3 by 3, so maybe I’m just comparatively slow). Do you have any specific plans for what you’ll do on the shard? Or any suggestions for a standardized question I could ask newcomers?
  18. The alien pause for a second, then nods exaggeratedly. “You will tell me, but first I will tell you ideas. Many people have this one, but this language calls it Dyson Sphere. You see that daylight has uses. With machines, it has more. You may not know this, but stars and suns are the same, but suns are close. They are round; when you build things near them they have uses. If a thing is built all around them, there would be many uses. But such a thing would be very big, and would fall apart. But you have something that will not fall apart, and you make this from light. That will have many uses.”
  19. Cole, not knowing that light should strengthen him at all, looks away from the sun. “That makes sense; it is hard to see things while blinded.” He looks down at the ground, far below.
  20. Cole continues flying towards his destination, even as he experiments. “I do… It’s nice up here, though. But I guess it won’t be if I don’t help.” He looks directly at the sun, sure there’s enough wind around to fix his eyes afterwards.
  21. “That is unlike me but not others. I do have questions. The shadow you write with will not be broken? And it is from stars?”
  22. Cole isn’t sure what they are, but he groups them in a stick figure, then moves on to looking at the planks.
