  1. She nods along. “So it is effectively only possible where you come from, or with things brought from there.”
  2. He furrows his brow, certainly not messing with Professor Wrath. “That was an old game console, right? I guess I can see someone with too much time on their hands making an LLM from one.”
  3. Cole lands near him, does a summersault, then leaps to his feet. “Hello, traveler! That was impressive, I imagine. I have no idea how I managed it. Regardless, you’re here, and I am, or so you think. You might be hallucinating, you know!” he declares, spinning on his heel. Despite the carefree manner, he is ready to rocket back into the sky at a moment’s notice.
  4. Rebus smiles, glad to have something to do. Little did he know- “I know, you have to sleep. That’s one of the things that makes me better than you.” He turns to Professor Wrath, or, if he has no form, a digital construct consisting of a navy blue smily face. “My name is, as you likely know, Rebus. It is interesting to meet you. I did indeed want to speak of advanced technologies, and their potential to increase the capabilities of someone who can conjure whatever I want. Do you have anything interesting, or shall my Author possess me to tell you about aerogel or space fountains or something?” Kion slumps. “My magic doesn’t help. You tapped the key against the ground, I believe.” He tries it. Template swims next to her, looking around with interest.
  5. Cole goes into another dive, getting close to the ground so he can actually find the town.
  6. It goes away all right! Your sore throat is no longer in your possession. In other words, you are now missing some of your neck. I wish for omniscience without going insane, losing my free will, or being unable to benefit from the knowledge.
  7. Template waves a flipper. Hello Livetha. It is nice to meet you.
  8. Template becomes much more detailed. They realize that mind reading still works, and think, Thank you. Is there a way to talk directly?
  9. Nick nods, satisfied with the explanation and feeling a bit embarrassed for forgetting that manufacturing costs used to be expensive. "I'll be on the look out, although I could probably take a grenade and keep walking, with shorter legs. And I suppose clockwork is unaffected by EMPs. I say we split into a few groups - legal, social, and physical. I'm not the tactician here, but I think I could serve any group well."
  10. Template does become a sea turtle, but is a very vague one. They waddle into the water, then swim up to the others, opening and closing their beak unsuccessfully.
  11. Nick's eyes widen in both interest and worry as he hears the capabilities of the automatons. "That is more formidable than I was expecting, but I suspect we have the capacity to deal with them. The moon crystals act as thermodynamics-defying heat capacitors, so I believe we can ruin the steam engines. Wait, you have Kevlar and titanium without electric motors?"
  12. They nod, then realizes their SCUBA gear is gone. "I am not sure. I had SCUBA gear, but now I do not. You should probably make me an octopus, just in case."
  13. He catches it, wondering how throwing their only hope of escape without bloodshed qualifies a careful. "Let's see. Escape-tion? No. Unlock, release? No..." He sighs, hoping he wouldn't have to resort to more magic to use the key. "Inspiration." Earlier, Kion has an idea as he catches the key. "Activation." he says, hopefully activating the key thirty seconds previously. Template walks into the water as well, having successfully avoided the Narrative ripples.
  14. Rebus nods again. "I guess I'll stay here and be ignored." Kion literally steps forward. "I can attempt it; my magic is likely more conducive to such things."
  15. I've got some! Make vacuums within invincible air walls, allowing for lighter-than-air flight in addition to his powered flight. Use resonance frequencies. Make blades inside people's lungs. Pneumatic in general. I can go on. Ability to reshape your bones, and only your bones. This can result in damage to your body, if the changes do things like overstretch muscles or rupture blood vessels.
  16. The technician shrugs. “I’ll tell her; you’d likely be more comfortable talking to another human, while both doctors probably look similarly alien to your companion.” She nods. “We’ll do tests. Unless there is something somehow only possible where you come from, I think we can understand it.”
  17. “Of course I won’t underestimate them! I’m sure I’ll learn a lot if I take one ape apart. But we have railguns, magic ice crystals, homing daggers, teleportation, shadow magic, a bunch of skilled fighters, an actor, laser guns, and all of my technology. Our metaphorical toolbox is so full I literally cannot imagine what could stop everything. We couldn’t defend against ourselves, if we were copied somehow - I’m not sure it’s possible to resist everything we can do.”
  18. Down the stairs are a few rooms, also organic. A technician passes the two of you with carrying a mechanism seemingly designed to hold something in place and then press on it. “Are you looking for Dr. Warren? She’s back there, though Dr.” - he says something interspersed with nigh-unpronounceable rollings of sounds - “is over there if you don’t want to wait.” She blinks. “Your shadows are unbreakable, and can be generated at no cost to you? If we can figure out how to stabilize them, the Runway and other superstructures will look minuscule.”
  19. Nick looks at him. “Your world’s technologies are somewhat inconsistent, at least to me. All the things your droids are good at my robots cannot hope to accomplish, and vice versa. Opening doors is shockingly hard, as is seeing well enough to not walk into things. But thinking is a thing my computers are good at. Honestly, we should find a droid and put SIMON in it.” “Ah, but we do have special weapons and methods! If these are steam powered, I believe Kaleb’s moon crystals will be even more effective against them than they are against humans. We can supercool some liquid nitrogen, then get frost within the steam turbines.”
  20. Expand and contract some pure rods connected to shock absorbers connected to you or a vehicle. This should allow you to bound through the sky. Also just use it for pistons to generate free energy. You can move air molecules and heal yourself, but to use either power you need to have wind blowing at you, or else you have to burn through life force, causing you to bleed to death. You can make impressive gusts of wind, create sound, and vibrate molecules for heat, as well as link together air molecules to create what are essentially force fields. (Definitely not crowdsourcing tactics for an RP character. I have some already anyway, and probably won’t metagame.)
  21. Rebus smiles broadly. “I was thinking a bit bigger than that. Or smaller, actually. I have teleporters, and I have self-replicating machines. Put them together, and you don’t really need most other weapons, because you can make things appear inside people and consume them from the inside out. I was thinking something more like the concept of aerogel - a general idea that gives me many applications with relative plausibility.” I don’t know about Rebus *cough cough formless situation cough cough*, but I think it’s a cool idea. But as he said, he has higher tech tools that overshadow it. I’m not done with my homework, but this is a break.
  22. Cole smiles. “I think I really will stay up here forever, if that’s the case. I’ll get the stone first, though; the sky seems like a good place to experiment with it.”
  23. Rebus raises a digital eyebrow. “Drawing attention to it will counteract that. How would I even do such a thing, except to obfuscate it with a long dialogue? Speaking of which, have you heard about any interesting sci-fi technology lately? My Author would gladly talk about it once he does his homework, and I might steal it for my own use.”
  24. Template believes her, so they wait to see what she’ll do. Rebus replies saying that he will avoid doing such, potentially utilizing force fields and directed nanotechnology consumption instead. He also says he might visit the Dreamsmith eventually. Grumbling about interruptions, Rebus surreptitiously does the same, destroying his physical body and emulating his consciousness on a small drone concealed with holograms. Kion looks on with interest but also brings to mind a few focuses that could prevent its theft.
  25. A technician does measurements on the overlap as Dr. Warren continues talking to Adtae. She’s still unable to quite grasp how the powers work (because they defy the laws of physics), so she’s mainly asking about what they can do. “Have you ever seen your shadows shatter? They seem unbreakable.”
