“What do you want?” Tondon walks forward a little, and is tapping Connection to focus Roy’s attention on him. He’s holding one sickle and his shield, but the other sickle is still stabbed into a tree. @Lotus Blossom @The Stormfather

Yeah, I agree. Simply turning someone to stone, or the air to fire, or other absolutely devastating attacks are the most basic transformations. A soulcaster with access to modern particle science could quite feasibly make radioactive materials, antimatter, or other highly dangerous materials (I don’t know what pure electrons would do, but I don’t think it’s good), rendering them nearly unstoppable. Countering-wise, it’s already been demonstrated that this is possible; soulcasters can create aluminum (of course, you can’t breathe through aluminum either). I think aluminum is the most effective way to defeat a soulcaster, followed by investiture bestowing magics. A skybreaker could probably pull of the whole “sideways gravity railgun” trick to hit a soulcaster with a large and fast moving invested object. Something to drain stormlight, like a Larkin, would also be able to defeat a soulcaster, simply by causing them to run out of power. Shardplate is too invested to soulcast easily and can be airtight, so that may also be an effective counter, although immobilization from soilcast air into a rigid material will still defeat them. I think part of the reason soilcasters aren’t completely unstoppable is that transforming things takes a lot of stormlight. Huh, I seem to have written a small essay. Anyway, that’s my thoughts. I’m looking forward to seeing what everybody else thinks.

@The Stormfather @Lotus Blossom @RoyalBeeMage Tondon doesn’t attack yet, but he looks wary, especially if Roy is glowing.

How did humans survive on Komashi?
Through the Living Heir replied to Firespir's question in Cosmere Q&A
The Father Machine syphons by Connection, which means that it can only steal the souls from people related to Virtuosity, either by proximity, worship, artistry, or friendship. Design is not related to that shard, and wasn’t syphoned, but Hoid knew Virtuosity’s vessel and thus had a connection. Ironically, people without a good relationship with the god of their world were spared from the apocalypse. WoB: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/518/#e16178 -

“How should I know? Look at what happens when I make the plans! I get stuck in the future, I get stuck in the games, I have to kill somebody, and then one of my friends betrays me.” His voice gets quieter as he continues talking, to the point that at the end he’s almost sobbing. @The Stormfather @Lotus Blossom @LightRinger @Edema Rue

I’m back, with questions, as I said I would be. I somehow missed the statement that you drew the Jaksyn portrait. It’s really good! I wish I could draw like that. Hmmm. Maybe I should get around to drawing my profile picture. Nah. Other than join the Hunger Games, what do you think you’ll do on the Shard? What character would you want to meet? Your choice whether they come to you or you go into the book to meet them. Uhhh. Other people asked some of my questions. Let’s see… Other than drawing, do you have any non-Sanderson related hobbies?

Tondon keeps the axe where it is, planning to use it as another projectile, in case people go back to fighting. He does toss one of his sickles behind him though, then pulls it into a tree. It holds for now. Tondon watches this, calling out, “Yeah, that’s what I said except a whole lot better.” at the beginning of the speech, but by the end, he’s not sure what’s going on. He does store a little Connection so people are more likely to focus on the dramatic moment, even if he doesn’t know what it means. Who injured Roy? I might have missed it. Tondon turns to Astra. “Weren’t we already planning to do that? What’s going on? I’m confused.” “Edgedancers? Oh! You said you were a Willshaper, which means that… uhh. Never mind, I’m still confused. Are we still fighting those people?” Tondon points to Roy and Quelkin.

Tondon backs away nervously, but is tapping Connection to get Roy to focus on him. “Uhh. Can we talk about this? We don’t have to fight. At least not yet.” That being said, if a shot lines up with Pulling the dagger, he does so. (And he’s also trying for a diversion.) @The Stormfather @Lotus Blossom @LightRinger @Unintelligenius

Oh fun, I’m a cool people! Yay! Hello, I’m Dragonheir. I joined the Shard pretty recently too, and got roped into the Hunger Games. It’s pretty fun. I’d also really recommend Mistborn, it’s a good book. Skyward and the Rithmatist are two other really good Sanderson books. (I read those three first. I did get my dad to read Stormlight Archive, and he’s liking it, but I think 5th grade me might have quit. That’s be sad.) I’ll probably think of some questions to ask later, but for now, welcome!

Tondon stops storing Connection and pulls the axe out of the wound, confiscating it, but that makes Quelkin’s shoulder bleed further (that’s the last of the luck working, plus mild incompetence). “Uhh. What should I do?” He asks, not really knowing who he’s talking to. @Lotus Blossom @LightRinger

Tondon looks from Jaksyn to Astra (who is apparently still here) in confusion. He’s not sure who he should help. If @Lotus Blossom or @Unintelligenius attacks or shows aggression, Tondon’s repeats the juggling trick without ceasing his storing. Although Quelkin can still observe and dodge the flying knives and sickles, he has difficulty focusing on where they are coming from, and wouldn’t be able to plan for more. If nobody but Jaksyn attacks, or Astra and Jaksyn start fighting, he does his best to Pull weapons out of everyone’s hands. (He’s forgetting about Shardblades.)

Tondon stores Connection to disappear and tries to get at an angle where he can Pull Jaksyn's axe at Quelkin if he attacks. He also notes, out loud, the fact that the bracer is off, but everyone ignores him cause he's storing Connection. @LightRinger

Tondon stops storing Connection, thus appearing right behind Jaksyn. He raises an eyebrow (well, he tries. It’s more like opening both his eyes very wide, but it gets the message across), “I’m not sure the game masters would let us break down on of these doors. Anyway, why did you follow him? I don’t think he’ll try to mess with us any time soon, what with the weird magic swords and all.” Tondon is nervously dropping and Pulling one of his sickles, like a very sharp yo-yo with no string.
