@Lotus Blossom @The Stormfather @LightRinger @Unintelligenius, the crystal is broken. He can step free now. After being shaken around by the Change, Tondon is too bewildered to think of attacking @Unintelligenius before he can do something.

“Hmm. Are we in Terris? Were all these places real and not just random terrain? Huh.” If @Unintelligenius gets freed by the earthquake, Tondon will probably be too surprised to stab him before he can do something.

Well, as far as I’m aware, it’s a swamp that is full of vine piles due to falling Verdant spores. There may also be Zephyr spores around. Tondon (me), Jaksyn ( @LightRinger ), and Quelkin ( @Unintelligenius ) are fighting just outside the casino. Currently I have trapped Quelkin with some rositite crystals and have a blade to his back, but he got ahold of some storm light, so that could change fast. Jaksyn has thus far done nothing, because light ringer hasn’t been online.

He circles around to behind you, @Unintelligenius, then places the tip of a sickle to the small of Quelkin’s back. “Tell me why I should spare you.”

Tondon’s eyes go wide as a glowing stream of light streaks from his box. “What is happening?” However, a large number of pink spores follows the light. (Tondon threw them my last post) As they hit the damp ground, they explode into large pink crystals, potentially entrapping Quelkin’s feet. If he’s caught, Tondon approaches warily. If he’s not, the glowing gives him pause. Jaksyn might be able to help though. @LightRinger

Tondon stops chasing him and searches through his glowing box for something that would actually stop Quelkin. He throws some of the contents of a random spore vial. (It’s Rositite)

The makeshift staff slams into Tondon’s left ankle. Luckily for him, Quelkin has no pewter, otherwise Tondon’s ankle would be broken. As it is, he’ll probably have some bruises. He keeps swinging, rather inexpertly but still dangerous, trying to keep him occupied so Jaksyn can sneak up on him.

Tondon runs up and tosses a small tangle of vines and verdant spores at you. The box he pulled it out from seems to have been glowing. He switches back to holding a sickle in each hand and swings at your head one as the vine begins trying to wrap around you. He's also left a dagger behind him. (Which is for @LightRinger)

Tondon circles around, trying to get Quelkin’s back toward Jaksyn. He also looks to see if Quelkin seems to be burning pewter, as having no stuff and it not being smart to fight a thug is a contradiction. “I’ve already lost but you have no supplies? What does that mean?”

“Hey there! You have two choices. I can kill you now, or you can give me all your supplies, go in there and get more, then give me those too,” Tondon says, cheerfully, while test swinging his sickles. @LightRinger @Unintelligenius

He walks outside, trying to figure out how to get the stormlight into the fabrial. He likely sees anybody outside the casino. ( @LightRinger or other tributes ) If there is no one there, he walks to another door in the casino, and tries it.

Tondon tries to fill connection, but he doesn’t have any duralumin, so he has to resort to tactful conversation. “Thanks. Sorry. Uh, hope you win your next game? Bye?” He takes his stuff and scurries away, potentially meeting up with Jaksyn. @LightRinger

“Ok, cool!” He sets the spores back on the table. “Is that two games or one? Will it take all my spores to bet for it, or just some? Why am I still dizzy?” He presumably needs to roll the dice again. “5 2 5 and 5 5 3! These are pretty good dice! But I’ll stop betting now, unless I lose, cause my luck will run out eventually. I might come back, though. What’s through the other doors in the building?”

“Ok!” Tondon rolls his dice. He gets 6 6 2. “That’s pretty good, right?” “Hmm. Maybe I’m hungry.” He eats a multivitamin and a beef jerky, which, while not the best meal, is fast, portable, and much better than just Verdant.

“Do you mean you’ll gamble for what I need, or I’ll gamble for what I need, or both? Never mind, would you take some spores to deal me in? What game are we playing?” Tondon pours out half of his pink spore vial onto the table. “If I win, could you get me something that can tell how far away people are and wake me up if they get too close? Or if that’s not possible, some iron shavings or a shield made from duralumin?” @Ancient Elantrian So I get two sickle shaped blades (what metal?), some meat, some multivitamins, and the promise for iron filings and a duraluminmind once Corin gets access to them (presumably after the Scadreil change), right @Edema Rue? If the Gambler somehow has access to the metal and Tondon wins, could Corin give Tondon something else on his list?

“Deal.” Tondon sticks his hand out for a handshake, takes the supplies as Corin gets them, then wanders over to the Gambler. ”Who are you?” @Ancient Elantrian

I think it would be easier to travel over the Highstorm with this method, as the gemstones would be continuously reinfused. I think your math is good. I'd use uncoupled reverse fabrials to stay upright, and potentially dip sails into the stormwall. By using the half-shard method or living shardplate, people could be placed inside a vehicle and protected from the brunt of the storm. I believe Fourth Bridge could probably make it on it's own, potentially with a bondsmith to repleish stormlight. You mentioned that Elsecallers needed to get more precise, but they could probably make it as is. They would just have to trek across the cognitive realm, which would be land due to the ocean. Then they could portal back to the physical. If I were planning this, (which I would only do if there wasn't a war going on), I would have an Elsecaller or Willshaper, a Skybreaker or Windrunner, and a Bondsmith. (Although I suppose an Elsecaller could just soulcast themself a boat) That's all I the thoughts I have. I'll see what everyone else has to say.

"I know. How far through the list does it get me? If I get another, how far will that be? Also, who's that guy?" asks Tondon, pointing to the Gambler. As another cannon goes off, slightly muffled by the walls, Tondon speaks again, "If that was Jaksyn, could I switch the shield and the alarm?"

The Hunger Games Chat Thread
Through the Living Heir replied to Through the Living Elan's topic in Hunger Games
@LightRinger I’d tried to quote you about the lurcher shield thing, but it didn’t work. I think Lurchers are much more interesting than Coinshots, and I’ve wanted to roleplay one for a while. The really impressive mistborn fight scenes rely on iron more than steel, in my opinion, because people are already capable of sending things away from them, but cannot easily pull them back. There’s a scene where Kelsier repeatedly pulls a metal ingot towards him then steps aside, letting it shoot past him. Tondon is really good at doing that, and can also pull on different parts of objects, spinning them in the air, or even hooking something like the sickle he requested onto an object, then using it as a ropeless grappling hook. A claw like object could even be created to lock closed when pulled on, letting him pull himself somewhere or even add a difficult to remove metal object to somebody else. Honestly, I should just go start “Lurchers are better than Coinshots, change my mind” thread.- 1319 replies
