    The ninja was sneakily mixing together caffeinated, alcoholic, hydrating, and carbonated drinks, and hiding it among the drinks already there. Such a concoction would ruin anyone’s ability to function. Rebus mustered his best kind yet commanding voice. “Stop running. I don’t know what we’ve done, but it can be made up to you.”

    “Quite simple. If you can set people back to the way they were before a catastrophic experiment, you can try again. In fact, you could test on people and reset them - and their memories, back to the way they were. This also serves as more verifiable immortality.”

    “Yes… perhaps I should have picked another door.” Rebus turned to the girl, waving in a legitimately friendly way. Shoe defeated them with ease - the test did not require anything but awareness. Another assassin - or perhaps they were closer to ninjas - appeared beneath the table with the drinks and stayed very quiet. Rebus smiled serenely. “You interview villains, do you not?”

    Rebus sighed, and shut the door. And that was when the assassin chose to close duck behind the wall, and close the gap between them - all in utter silence. Rather than having the long-ways lines stop at the short-ways line, the short-ways lines can stop at the long-ways line.

    The room was tilting a bit, too. Is that not every trait ones such as us possess? I have been very careful not to change what I want. Rebus solidified another door, then opened the first. Wow. For the probably-teleporter, maybe switching the line priorities can help? One line longways with shorter lines coming off of it (also quite convenient for holding on to). Yeah, lean and smirk are good. He's got like six different smiles He'd go with striking greyscale unless he was trying to blend in. Actually, do you think white would work? Blank and grey accents, at the edges and maybe the seam lines. As for design, I agree that the one on the left is really complicated - maybe it'd work for the party, but not for everyday use.

    Will did so, coming into the room and sitting down. While he was listening to the man, he absentmindedly took stock of the room.

    Will smiled at the man. Not that appearances were much to go off of - an experiment designed to make a person appear trustworthy would be exactly what he'd do if he had the organization's resources and lack of ethics.

I had wondered how you managed to fall behind even a metafictional solipsist in terms of ethics. Rebus, having expected something of the sort, mostly caught Symbol before she hit the ground - though used to enhanced reflexes, he did not so much catch her as ensure her fall did not result in a concussion. Still, though, he took the key and the vial, and poked a teleporting door with a torch.

    "In the hands of most people, soda is perfectly innocent." Rebus is standing behind Beosta, then. There were still more, though Rebus was about to stop the refilling. "I'm glad I'm here." Rebus's grin became happy rather than viscous. "Narration is definitely going to be taken away, but I still have my Thread Awareness."

    Will looked to see what percentage of the facility was underground, and then got out of the elevator as it stopped.

    Some more appeared. Just out of curiosity, how are they positioned? Rebus grinned, very proud of himself. I don't know about Lady Bug, but if I were on the receiving end of the grin, I'd be running. "Of course. I don't need magic or technology to be a threat."
