Nick nods. “Alright. You’re a performer, right? Would you want to be the one doing the interviews?” Nick also elbows @DaveSouls. “Glinte, you’re the last one to agree. Can we send out footage of you?”
-
“Yes. Have you ever seen a flip book? If you have a camera that takes pictures really fast, you can string them together like that and make a moving image.” Nick turns to the two remaining people ( @DaveSouls and @The Halcyon Girl ). “You two are the last ones. Would you be fine with being interviewed?”

The plants are slightly brittle, at least on the outside. They’re also very hot (they are metal that’s been in the abnormally hot sun for weeks). The suit will stop you from getting actually burned, but it still heats you up quickly.
-
“Why would it be challenging to transverse? Oh, because you are like one node. You do not fit.” Rust expands a lot to try to see. “I think you can see farther than me. How far do they go?” The blade plants exist in a strip of land perhaps a hundred feet deep, but going off as far as the eye can see in both directions.

Veer shrugs. “No. Do you have any hot sauce around?” Veer examines Mead Bush ( @Just_a_Fan ) trying to figure out how worrying the unconsciousness is.

@SpiritOfWrath @Spark of Hope @Through The Living Glass Rust (and presumably the others) keep walking across the alien landscape. There are more of the blade-plants in small bunches along the way, but after around a hour, you reach a massive field of them, the twisting spirals of flat metal melding and interlocking. “What is that?” asks Rust, while you’re still far off. “I have never seen anything like this.”
-
“Can I interview you too, Kaleb?”
-
Rust sets up some segments as an abacus, trying to help. (It doesn’t work, because I don’t think abacuses can do exponents, or even really multiplication.)
-
“Ok. I won’t record evidence of you assassinating someone or something. I’m just going to do an interview, and then maybe film the rest and only send out things that would incriminate the people running the show. They have access to at least a dozen alternate universes with magic, and their first thought is reality TV? What is wrong with these people?”
-
Rust contracts. “If they are where they were, around - distance is hard to tell you. I am going to the planet spirit, and then I will go to where the sky people are. There are markers at the two planet spirits; they tell you where to find things. The sky people were going to put one there, when I was still with them. If it is there, it will talk to them and let them come to us.” Rust points at one of the sharp metal bushes, around fifty feet away, perhaps. “That blade plant is three medium numbers away. Twelve of those make a big number, and twelve of those make a very big number. This is more counting than we do usually, but twelve of those would be a very very big number. I would say the planet spirit is three very very big numbers away - we were close, which is good.” @Spark of Hope @Through The Living Glass

Cole looks down. “Oh hey, look what I found! Two swords and sets of plate armor! Anyone know how to put these on?”

“Sleeper! Are you fine with being recorded?” Nick asks.
-
“If it’s not natural I doubt I can animate it. But save this for later, we have damage to control.”
-
“Yes, they are dangerous. They still attack sky people, so they may attack you. They cannot eat them, though, and I do not think they can see them well. So I think you could scare one away.”
-
-
“They are like me, but scary. They eat people - swarms, not you - and hide places to attack them. They are made of something different, something less alive; copper is the sky people word for it.”
-
Nick would be upset about that. Although he's changed, with the remaking. It doesn't make sense to feel more sadness because you found out about a person; he still was trying to kill them. SIMON continues. "How can I contact Teleportations Inc.? Do you have any outgoing messages?"
-
SIMON begins looking for accounts to sign up for that would confer the needed credentials; hopefully before they are requested. "Yes."
-
Ah, emulation, then. SIMON sends another message. "Note outgoing data address and content. Send to device: SIMON."

The cave is small, maybe a foot high and two feet wide. Within it are two passages that seem to curve around into one another through the wedge shaped mound. A breeze picks up some rust haze, and it is visibly sucked into the cave as it passes by at a diagonal. To see this better, Rust expands. “If there is a copper demon there, it is very small. So it is safe.”
-
@SpiritOfWrath The small pebbles are shinier than they should be if they were ordinary rocks. Some shift under your weight, but some are evidently imbedded in the ground. Rust anchors nodes to them, lifting loose ones out of the ground. The group gets near a sort of mound with a small cave, iron stitched together into an overhang. “Watch out for that. Copper demons sometimes hide in there.” Rust says, pointing at it.
-
SIMON sends a message to the AI. “How advanced are you? Do you have autonomous decision capabilities, or simply emulation of a personality?”
