  7. She laughed sadly. "I seriously doubt you could kill my Author . . ." But at the same time- well, she supposed it was the thought that counted. "Thank you." Tam ignored him.
  8. She let him hug her, not caring. In truth . . . there were a lot of things that terrified her. Especially recently. But she didn't need to bother Bat -or any of the other- with any of that. They already had enough to deal with. So she just hugged him back.

  16. A snail schlooped its way across his face. The crab that had stabbed him scuttled away, scared.
