roy nodded as if to himself before he closed his eyes and started talking. Roy's eyes were downcast, his fingers tracing patterns on the armrest of his chair. "Learn to live with myself again?" he echoed, his voice barely above a whisper. "How am I supposed to do that when I can't escape these memories? When I see their faces every time I close my eyes?"

Roy dashed into the gas station, panting from the effort, his mind still foggy from the surreal haze of the Lotus Casino. The neon lights flickered as he grabbed a newspaper, the crinkling pages a jarring contrast to the timeless luxury he had just escaped. His eyes widened in shock as the date screamed up at him: two weeks had passed. Two weeks since he had entered the casino's enchanted doors, believing it had been mere hours. Stunned, he sank onto a nearby bench, the weight of lost time pressing down on him as he struggled to comprehend the reality he had reentered. "its been 2 weeks! we only have 1 day left!"
