There's no worries, the reason I want Certified lore is just so I can put it on the main post so that RPers have a general sense about what Certified their characters know about/how they feel about them. I also finally ate the chicken I've been making for so long! I'm really excited about starting this. It seems like it'll be fun. I'm going to start drafting the intro post for tomorrow now. (That doesn't mean I'm not available, lemme know if you need anything.)

I see the abstract Certified are more popular, which I don't have a problem with. I will say though, that a Bisexual Certified exists, for example, though they shouldn't have a role in the plot until we can get someone to RP them. (Same with other sexualities/gender identities) Also specifically, Honor's Ghost mentioned a trans church, so there's definitely a transmasc and envy Certified involved there.

Ahh I wish I had written that much for Identity, Transcendence sounds cool. Edit: Although I will say, while this is heavily inspired by the Cosmere, I don't think it should actually take place there. So maybe just change Yolen to smth else. One thing I'd like to know, everyone, is how present your Certified is on Moc. Are they worshiped as a god, almost unknown, or not present on the world at all. (At least, how present when the RP starts.)

Certified: Mortal: ??? (You may be wondering why I get to make this unique thing. Well, it's because I'm the mod here this was something I had in mind when I had the idea to make this RP, so it gets to be here) I might not be able to post for a while, as I gotta go cook chicken IRL now.

Ahh sorry I'm late (it has been 3 minutes since you called me) Here are the rules for Certified: Each person gets to make one You choose any attribute they embody. This could be a queer identity like "Aromantic", or "Bigender" or something more vague like "Expression" or "Growth". Whatever you feel works for this setting Your Certified character has a 'Disaster', the once-mortal who got a Certificate and became all-powerful in their domain. Write their name and pronouns down, but you don't have to necessarily add too much detail if you don't want to. When writing dialogue as a Certified, write in bold, or all-caps, or some another text color or something Your Certified shouldn't be your main presence in the RP. You should focus on your mortal characters, although if your mortal character is heavily involved with your Certified character, that's ok. (New rule because I just thought of it) Fusions between Certified like in the Cosmere are cool, so long as everyone involved agrees. If this happens, the following rule will apply (Using the hypothetical fusion of Expression and Lesbianism, Feminism) Both the former holders of Expression and Lesbianism may RP as Feminism OR only one of the former holders do, and the other former holder may create a new Certified instead Oh, and if there's any confusion, or you'd like to break the rules because you think it'd be cool, lemme know and I'll clear everything up. @Hawks, After we've had this up for a little, I'll post the actual RP thread, and it'll have like a lore overview and stuff. I'll post my actual characters soon.

I wouldn't be so sure about the latter statement. If someone doesn't accept MtFs, chances are that they don't accept FtMs either. There's just more controversies and stuff about MtFs

Basically, everyone was kinda RPing around on here, being unhinged, and one person thought it seemed like a sitcom. So I proposed the idea of making a dedicated RP thread for our queer shenanigans, and then we all started establishing some lore and stuff.

Ummm maybe fix some of the spelling. (If you copy-paste it all into a spoiler tag and post it here, I could edit it for you) I'd add the following: A planet name (you decide!), an RP name (I suggest: The Queer Tales of (planet name)), and an explanation of the Certified. Also, if you all don't mind, if I could be made a moderator of the RP, I think that could be good, just cause I usually stay on top of things and also came up with the idea of making an RP thread.

The 'Disasters' are the equivalent to Vessels, while their 'Certificate' is the certificate that allows them to be a god. That sounds great, actually. The 'not too much Certified intervention' would be a soft rule, not a hard rule. So long as the mortal gets plenty of attention too. I'm just trying to avoid the issue a lot of RPs have, where everyone wants to be one of the super cool magic things, but then as a result there aren't any normal characters to RP with.

I propose the following arrangement for the Certified (our Shard equivalent) Each person gets to make/run one single Certified. However, they shouldn't be the main focus of the persons RP, at least not at first. (Similar to how the Shards don't directly intervene much in Mistborn Era 2) Instead, the Certified become part of the world, and mortal characters can interact with them as they choose. (Yes, you can make your own character be like a priest of your own Certified)

Yeah, we'll figure it out as we go. I think the best way to structure this is that we'll all just play around for some time, but eventually, story arcs will naturally form. (I speak from experience from another forum's RP threads)

Hmmm, good idea, though I wouldn't call them 'The Shards' How about 'The Certified' as a reference to this thread name.

So I have a character planned, who is kinda like the Nightwatcher in the Stormlight Archive, which anyone else can go visit, and some shenanigans will ensue. This won't be my main RP character, but rather an element of the setting that I'll manage. So that'll be fun.

Alrighty, I'll be patient, and also keep pitching ideas Ehh if you wanna have your character have like psychic powers or something for no reason, I don't think anyone'll bat an eye. This isn't meant to be a super serious thing obviously. Also if you wanna make a character with a different gender/sexuality as your IRL one, that's totally fine

The magic system: Whatever the hell you want If you think your asexual character should be able to eat garlic bread and get super-strength, that's great. If you think your asexual character should be immune to all magic like they're made of aluminum, then that's great too. Both characters/interpretations can exist.

Let's not actually make any specific rules though, that way all the RPers can decide their own powers. Soft magic? In my Brandon Sanderson forum?
