    I follow you up the tree and take the sandwich back.

    Evan jolted awake and quickly looked over his surroundings. Why had he woke up? There hadn't been a loud sound or anything out of the ordinary. Then Evan saw it. A flower had appeared on the edge of his little cave beside where Kaz was perched. For some reason he had a really strong urge to eat the flower. He reached out towards the flower. Closer. Closer. Almost there. Evan shock his head and pulled his hand back. What had he been thinking? Trying to eat a flower in a jungle full of poisonous plants and flowers. Then his stomach grumbled. He hadn't eaten all of the previous day and he was starving. Well why not? Evan thinks as another wave of wanting to eat the flower washes over him. He reaches out, plucks the flower from the ground and eats it.....

    "No no no, we should sacrifice the boar and then while the cougar is distracted we can run up the trail" Uni says.

    Uni gobbles his portion down and mumbles a thanks to CB. "Yea lets get going" Uni says enthusiastically.

    "What even are either of those?"

    I whistle very unsuspiciously and start slowly backing away from everyone.

    "Ohh this looks delicious", Uni says as he savors the delicious flavor of goose liver, "cant wait for the rest of the goose."

    I run away and very convincingly yell that I definitely don't have the sandwich.

    Evan let himself fall into a light sleep, hoping Kaz, who was sitting at the edge of the crack, would wake him if anything approached.

    He squeezes into the crack and lets out a sigh of relief. He wouldn't sleep just yet he had to watch and make sure there weren't any predators lurking around.

    Evan decides to leave the bees and suspicious blood red flower behind and continues climbing. Best not to mess with anything that looked dangerous, after his interactions with the evil vine.

    Evan decides to momentarily stop climbing. He looks around for any crevices in the cliff side that he could use as shelter. A hole in the side of the cliff would keep him safe from predators. Hopefully...

    Well, as the great philosopher Evangelical Evagenius said, the only way forward is upward Evan thinks as he begins to climb up the cliff. He had some experience climbing, but that was mostly climbing homes and buildings while working in the underground. Hopefully I can find some kind of shelter at the top he thinks to himself.

    Evan sighs in relief ruffling Kaz feathers and patting him on the head. He knew if he feel asleep in the tree then the vine could attack him while he slept, and he couldn't go out on the beach or he would be to out in the open. Or could he?Thankfully I have a bird to shield my mind right now. Evan finally came to a decision. He made his way deeper into the jungle, moving towards the more mountainous part of the island, hoping to find rocky areas where vicious plants wouldn't be present.

    Evan looks for any rocks or sharp objects around him that he could possibly use to cut or snap the vine. Kaz continues to peck at the vine to try to break it. @Ancient Elantrian

    Evan glances at his arm noticing the red mark, I'm going to have to deal with that later. He hurriedly climbs/jumps to the forest floor and grabs on to Kaz with both hands, holding on tightly.

    Evan tries to plant his feet and pull back but didn't react fast enough and he can feel himself starting to slip forward. He whistles to Kaz who is perched on a nearby branch and immediately the aviar understands. It quickly flies over and begins to violently peck at the vine, trying to snap it.

    Evan blinks his eyes blearily then shakes his head to try to keep himself awake. Wait, is that a vine... moving? I heard rumors about the arena being weird but I didn't think it would be this weird. Evan tries to swat away the vine as the vine approaches him.

    One of my nerf bullets, also being a spider, steals the sandwich from Vyz while he is focused on all the other bullet proof spiders and gives it to me.

    Soon after traversing into the jungle Evan noticed that it had begun to get dark. Guess I waited a little to long by the beach, I'll have to get food and other supplies tomorrow Evan thinks to himself. He finds a sturdy and tall looking tree and begins to climb it in hopes of spending the night in the upper branches of it.

    At the sound of the gong Evan runs down the beach for a couple of minutes and then decides to make his way about five feet into the jungle. He crouches down and faces towards the ocean watching to make sure no other tributes had followed him for an early kill. His pitch black aviary with a streak of blue down his belly, Kaz, chirps on his shoulder. Hopefully nothing notices me cuz' of Kaz's mental shielding Evan thinks. After waiting for some time he turns around and decides to make his way deeper into the jungle. @Spark of Hope @The Bookwyrm

    "GEESE GUTS??? I want some" Uni says, "Also if we each get a little bit of the goose to sustain us for now we could continue up the trail and find food later on so we don't have to eat that delicious looking boar"
