  1. "Yo. Schnob. Stop. You're gonna get hurt." Elan says, quickening his pace.
  2. Elan rolled his eyes, and went to follow her so she didn't get too hurt.
  3. "Yes exactly," Elan says, sensing exactly what kind of girl this is. "It's completely safe up there, but I'd prefer if you stayed terrified alone in the dark down here starving, that's what's happening. Maybe once you've spent a couple weeks I can come back and see if you're any less snobby."
  4. "Illusions. I put them up on the two of us and we came here to check on Gemini."
  5. "Outside? No. It's... well it's a living Braize out there." He responded.
  6. "Are you kidding? I was so worried about YOU!"
  7. He hugged her back tightly. "I'm glad your safe."
  8. Finished The Ithaca Saga

    That was… harsh

I don’t quite know how I feel about that ending.

Yeah, I think some of the sound effects and descriptions were a bit graphic, especially since the main audience seems to have been teenagers. I can understand why it would be shocking and intense if you weren't expecting it . . . It doesn't bother me too much, but I'm not easily bothered by violent sound effects and that kind of thing.

It was shorter then I thought it be, if I'm honest.

My favorite song was the last one though, it was very powerful.

I think the narrative could've been a bit clearer on the fact that Ody is a morally grey character, at some points it felt like they were justifying his actions, but i think it pulled through at the end to some degree. There's only so much you can convey with song lyrics, and i don't know how experienced Jorge is at storytelling, and moral framing in narratives.

I'm not one of the people who is obsessed with it, but like eddie I find it really engaging for storytelling. That and it's re-ignited my interest in actual ancient Greek myths. I've thrifted a copy of the Iliad to read because of this, and I'm excited to go deeper. Without Epic, that wouldn't have happened.

Oh Elan if you ever run across our team at a tournament, I have a writer friend with an absolutely killer informative about modern storytelling based on classics and she talks about Epic vs the Odyssey, you could yap with her.

  9. He looked at Kio. “That’s my mom!” He said, grinning and running at her.
  10. He nodded, opening his mind to TAAron. Gem gasped, head jerking around. “MOM?!”
  11. "What if I could connect us? I have... well it's completely foreign technology that you would consider super threatening but it could help maybe."
  12. "What if you... what is your magic like?"
  13. I feel like each type of magic would have it's own backlash/consequence Like if you're messing with someone's neurotransmitters then if you go to far it could end up affecting your own mind Or if you mess with gravity you could just end up breaking it for yourself/in that area permanently
  14. The soldier nodded. "So you're trying to... connect to my mind?"
